I really don't care one way or another about Marable and Blackmon. I would like to Know if Marable has wrestled Nathan Jones of Cleveland, and if he has what the outcome of that match was. Jones is ranked #1 in D1 Marable is #1 in D2 That would be more of a apples to apples comparison. Quinn Gibson, if he decided to bump to 171 in my opinion would beat any of these guys.

Yeah we're on the same page, I read a few posts on here and it appeared to me that some of the people posting were doing so out of anger, and not making thier point clear. I also read a few posts by kids who think this guy is wonderful. In the beginning the Germans thought Hitler was wonderful. People wonder whats wrong with our school system today and think that a guy like this is just "different". As parents we all have a responsibility to do what is best for our children. Maybe you folks down in that part of the state will do something to rectify this situation.

Point taken. I agree, as a teacher this man is supposed to be a "Role Model" for the youth in our community. Hopefully as parents we have done our job and our children are smart enough to understand that hate, no matter who it's dircted at, is wrong.I also agree that the Nazi flag is a symbol of some of the most heinous events in the history of mankind. As a teacher this man has shown extremely poor judgement in flying such a flag. As an American he has shown that you don't have to be smart or patriotic to be a protected citizen. You just have to be born here.

NONESFOOL, I appreciate what you say however it doesn't answer my initial question. Would there be this much fuss if the man flew a Rebel flag, or for that matter the flag of the old USSR or China in front of his house. By the way I believe more Americans died in the Civil War than in any other war.

I wonder if this man were flying a confederate (Rebel) Flag would you people be this vocal about what this man is doing. Don't get me wrong I dont agree with the belief's of Hitler, but then again I don't agree with everything the Confederacy stood for.I do think however if someone wants to fly a flag on thier own property, thats thier business, even if it shows the rest of the world how ignorant they are. You don't have to like it, and you have the right to voice your opinion about it, but the last time I checked this was still America and people have the right to do certain things no matter how repulsive we may find them. In this case flying a Nazi flag on his property is a protected free speech right, under the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

I don't know how they have it set up. I only know of five teams that will be there Overton, Hillsboro, Lipscomb, and ML king. As far as who wrestles who I don't have a clue.

I wish you guys luck. I wouldnt be surprised to see FRA pull it off . Hillsboro is a pretty good team as well . I'm sure there will be another team or two there to see if they can knock Johnny Bobcat out of his tree.

Looks like a lot of Gibsons victims are finally showing up on this thread. It had wondered off course briefley but appears back on course now. I think Pack is a good wrestler but I think Gibson is a much better wrestler.

I didnt list Scruggs because I havent seen him this year. I didnt mean to not give him any due. I dont know what the deal is with FRA but they barely wrestle the minimum number of matches in region to qualify for the regional tournament. Heck I had FRA picked to be the upset winner of Region 6 this year but they had some injuries early in the season and then just disappeared. I saw Wipperman at the Ryan Tournament, but the rest of the team was already out. I hope Scruggs and the rest of the FRA guys are healthy and ready to wrestle. I hate to be wrong and I would really like to see someone in region 6 give Johnny O. a run for his money at the Duals tommorrow.

Twittycanes, At 160 my picks from region 6 are Pack McGavock Byrd ML King Vanderloop Hillsboro Eric Martin Overton if he is wrestling at 160 At 152 in region 6 Johnson Antioch if he is at 152 Jenkins ML King LittleJohn McGavock Wilkerson Lipscomb I really havent put these guys in any particular order I would have to see the Brackets before I could put them where I think they will finish. As far as Johnson being weaker at 152 only he knows if he's stronger at 52 than at 60 but I believe he feels he has a better chance in the region at 52 than at 60 because of the depth in the 160 weight class

If Johnson wants to be at 152 I hope he is able to make it, from what I've read it's going to be close.It sounds like he will have to make weight (154)at all his remaining dates. As long as he stays healthy he should wrestle at whatever weight he feels best at.In region 6 160 is stacked, but at 152 Johnson has already lost to Wilkerson of Lipscomb and went 1-1 with Littlejohn from McGavock.Good luck to Josh at whatever weight he ends up at.

If that's the case then, according to Antiochs schedule posted at the TSSAA website it appears Johnson will be two dates short, unless they have added dates or Johnson has missed two or more of the dates posted. [Edited by kjfan on 1-19-03 8:02P]

Johnson has wrestled three matches at 152 at the overton tournament, two matches at 152 at Brentwood and I believe he wrestled one at the district duals against McGavock losing to Littlejohn. I dont know how many matches Josh has wrestled at 160 probably between 16 and 20, he has 6 at 152 so he could have as few as 10 matches to get half or as many as 14; either way I'm sure he has done the math and knows how many he needs to get there. It appears that he has had more success at 160 but if he is able to win regions (not an easy task) at 152 his position at the state tournament becomes much more favorable because of the seeding at state for state medalist that win thier region. winning the region at 152 in Region six looks to be a little easier than 160 at this point with Pack, Byrd, Vanderloop,and Stephens all at that weight I believe. Lost to Cochran early in the season 1-1 in OT and lost to Lee Connell at Father Ryan by 1 also lost to Justin Miller from Alabama at Father Ryan 3.)Donnie Floyd Senior South Doyle, two Losses one to Catlett at Bradley Invitational(Pinned In 28 seconds) and one to Bennett 10-5 in OT at hillwood invitationals in semis 4.)Chris Cochran Senior Brentwood, several losses,but all to high quality opponents including Floyd at the Bradley invitational and Connell of Mcallie at Father Ryan. 5.)Kenny Jenkins Junior ML King has not had the exposure of the guys above him. His only loss came in the finals at Hillwood against Bennett 5-3 in OT. he wrestled up to 160 his last match against McGavock and beat Tim Pack 8-6 6.) Joey Jeffers Senior East Ridge has had two early season losses at 160 but has yet to lose at 152 jeffers has not faced off with any of the Top D1 guys at 152.He did win the McCallie Tournament and beat Lee Connell but Connell was coming off an injury at the time. 7.)Ty Cody Junior Science Hill has shown signs of being great but has been a little inconsistent 8.) Jim Weakley Sophmore Clarksville has lost several matches to the guys above but has managed to keep it close this kid is my darkhorse pick to medal at state. Weakley comes from a great program, and the times that I have seen him in action he has fought hard start to finish. D2- 1.) Lee Connell Senior McCallie State champ last year at 145 has had a rough early season but looks to have turned things around Midway through. 2.) Adam Stark Junior? Father Ryan Beat Connell at the Father Ryan Tournament and Justin Miller from Alabama in the finals to take first. I only pick Connell first because he has the advantage of experience in the state tournament. 3.) Beasley and Byrd both dropped out of the latest rankings probably a direct result of losing to Choate.Choate did not make the rankings this week, that surprised me. I guess the Brentwood tournament that was held at the same time carried more weight with Rob Sherrill as Tim Pack moved back into the rankings along with Shawn Boss of Tullahoma. :confused: :confused:

Besides Connell who has Jeffers beat,and who has he lost to? Being from Mid TN we dont hear a lot about some of these other guys.Has he gone up against any of the other guys @152 such as Cochran, Floyd, Bennett,or Cody?

I was at the Ryan Tournament and watched Stark pretty much have his way with Connell. Stark looked very good.Heck I'm from Middle TN and if Stark wins that would be fine by me. I think Coach Simpson does a fantastic job with his boys.I base my opinion on a couple of facts one Connell beat a very good Will Howorth last year to win state, and two he is a senior that has been through the stress of the state tournament. I believe come February you will see a very different wrestler.

I believe Johnson is at 160 unless he has weighed in at 152 scratch, he wrestled at152 at the Overton tournament but they were giving pounds there and they were also giving pounds at Brentwood those are the only two times that he has wreastled at 152 that I know of. So Jenkins and Johnson probably wont wrestle unless Jenkins wrestles up.It would be a good match.Has Johnson weighed in at scratch weight this year?? [Edited by kjfan on 1-15-03 9:28P]
