I really don't know. Jasmine Duke and Pierce will be seniors. I guess the rest will depend on how much the younger girls have developed. It appeared that Duke and the seniors carried the team this year so it will interesting to see. If you take away the stats of Glidden and Bell, that leaves some major holes to fill. If I had to make a prediction right now, it will be a battle for the top 4 spots in D11 and D12 will go back to totally dominating the region. As far as the D11 schools, I believe whatever coach does the best job between now and next season of developing players will determine if one team can be a clear #1. Any of the top 4 could take that spot. DKOONS would be the best to ask. She watches allot of basketball and is usually pretty close when making predictions. By far and away, the best player in D11 next year will be Jasmine Duke of Richland. After the votes were counted someone should have taken a step back and said "does this make sense". The answer would have been NO. With the total domination by Wayne County, they should have had 4 or 5 players on the list. Not only 3. This is sad. Did Abby Andrews play? I do not see her name listed. Special congrats to one of my two favorite high school players for making the all region team. That player is Jasmine "the Diesel" Duke. Add her name to the 2009 Ms. Basketball List.

Moore County has a long history of winning basketball and they have great fans. They always seem to stun some people come tourney time. Good luck to SF against WC. Forrest was the biggest winners with the defeat of Collinwood by Moore County. More than likely the winner of the Wayne County/Richland game will win Region 6. Whomever they meet, probably Santa Fe, would be a much preferred opponent for Forrest than Collinwood/Wayne County/Richland. It looks like your road to 'Boro got easier because of Moore County's win. Just an observation. Anything can happen. But then again, Forrest does not need an easy road. They have proven in the past that they can play with anyone. Congrats to the Lady Rockets and Aunt Kim. Hope you continue to win, although I will be pulling a little more for Santa Fe if you meet them at Substate. But I will be routing for you too. I like both teams. Take care.

Everyone check my posts from last year. Everyone was talking about ClarkRange and RBS meeting in the finals at 'boro. Then a lone voice from the wilderness spoke and said, "watch out for the youngu'ns from jackson county. Coach has them believeing in themselves and playing as a team. They believe they can win it all." Well, they came close. Allot closer than anyone expected. All that said: ClarkRange will win the R4 Tourney. ClarkRange will meet a R6 team in the finals at 'Boro. Hopefully Richland!! Just a prediction. I guess it would be accurate to say that anything short of a state championship would be looked at as a failure by Jackson County, huh? Not a good attitude to have. They are a great team and represent their town and school well. A state championship would be nice, and may very well happen for them. But life will go on even if they dont get it.

If both teams were healthy this may be the best 1st round game of the 6A tourney. It may still be. It will come down to coaching, where the advantage goes to PC. PC should press the entire game and never let SF to get into a half court game. If it becomes a half court game, SF will eat them up. SF has questionable guard play but if coached properly, they could still overcome the PC pressure. SF's big girls do a pretty good job of defending the outside game too. I am pulling for SF but I believe PC will win by 6. It is time for SF to live up to the billing they have received the last 3 years. If any D7 Team is lucky enough to get to play Richland in the finals at Boro, they had better bring their refs. Man you are good. Have you ever coached? You really can break things down as good coaches can. It will be interesting to see how the D12 teams play Richland. Last year they "bird dogged" Glidden and Bell and Richland never did adjust well. Duke stepped up her game but they did not go to her enough. I would believe the same will occur this year. I watched last year's Summertown/Richland game, with 7awatcher I am proud to say, and wondered why Richland never set a pick to slow down the defenders on Glidden and Bell. We had girls sitting the bench, including my daughter, who would have gladly rattled some teeth with a few screens and they were never used. And we lost to a team with its' 2 best players out. Hope we can do better this year.

The Seeding from the District Tourneys will determine who meet in the finals of Region 6. Worst case for Richland would be to have to play a #2 Seed Wayne County in the Semis of Region and then Collinwood in the finals. I cannot remember the last time Richland beat Wayne County and they have match up problems with them this year from what I hear. However, Richland seems to be playing top notch ball right now and could give anyone a run for their money. If things go as they are supposed to, Richland would face Summertown in the first round of region. Remember what Summertown did last year to Richland. AND DO NOT BE SURPRISED: If the finals of Region is not Richland Vs. Santa Fe. Prediction: When considering rosters, SOS, talent, past history, and coaching: Wayne County wins Region 6 and Collinwood is the runner up. Collinwood then beats Chapel Hill. Both WC and Collinwood go to 'boro with Wayne County winning the state title and adding to the banners they already have up in their gym. Hope I am wrong with my prediction.
