If that's what the Happy Valley youth leagues are teaching their kids then they're lying to them. We don't live in a Disney movie. I do agree that every kid/person should give his or her best, but the fact of the matter is that I have tried my best in a lot of areas in my life, but I haven't been able to do "anything". As for kids not being tired at the end of practice, sounds to me that they have a lack of internal motivation regardless of what their coach does or doesn't do. Real athletes are accountable to their teammates and themselves regardless of their situation.
