I think there have been more references to Alcoa and Seymour than Dobyns-Bennet on this thread. Where are all the D-B fans?
-
Several coach types in the stands tonight taking notes...
-
SN stopped the last 2 HV drives then SN threw interception. 18-14 SN at halftime.
-
Still 18-14. North is 0 for 3 on 1 kick and 2 2-point attempts.
-
Holy Smoke - I sleep on the T for a week and a SN thread gets to 9 pages! Almost unheard of. 14-12 HV at the moment. SN just had a long TD called back on a PF penalty. This will be a good one. North just scored again on a 60+ yard pass and run. HV player down... 18-14 SN right now with official time out before extra point attempt.
-
OK, for a novice to the OR stadium - what time would I need to leave Kingsport to get a decent seat?
-
Falcons not yet ready for prime time. North by 14. Might come see this one.
-
Chris Christian had some good games back in the day but I don't know if he had any 200+ games.Good win for the Falcons! 235 yards rushing by Sayler. I would assume that's a school record? Only
Guys I could think of that came that close were Sanchez releford and randy jones. Having said that, don't get too caught up in the win because north comes to town next week. Always a tough team and they just destroyed central. If volunteer loses to north, i don't see them contending for a playoff spot. Not with Greeneville, Seymour, Cherokee, east, south, and grainger on the schedule.

On my phone if you touch the message you want to reply to then a "quote" box shows up at the bottom of that message. Touch Quote and then in the window that pops up you will see the old message. Go to the end of that and hit the "return" to get a new line and start typing. It should be similar on a PC.

When Lynn View and Ketron consolidated into North the better football coach got the AD job if memory serves me correctly. They better find a place for Norris if he wants to be there when they consolidate.

If the snap is executed properly that kid can hit it anywhere inside the 30 for sureI like this, but Vikes will not need to go for 2. Vikes 7 Rebs 6

Well I was going to comment on the Eastman thing but decided to read ahead and saw that several have already set Compton straight. Now I do know of a few cases where smaller businesses have increased existing workers pay enough so that they can suddenly afford city school tuition though...Thanks for everyone educating me on that. Not being from there i just assumed Oakridge, Maryville, alcoa benefited from the knoxville kids. Something you guys might know is db benefits from Eastman company. Parents with good athletic kids jobs are giving to them so their son can attend at db.
And 70k can be made at Eastman by an hourly employee if they want to work overtime. It won't just be handed to you but if you are willing to work it can happen.

Boone has improved for sure but I go back to about 2004 with South and I think this could be the most challenging season I've ever seen them have. That said - they have had a lot of good years in that time.RebRaider I didn't see them getting beat this bad by Boone but maybe Boone has improved more than I thought.
-
Boone looks much better than South tonight. 20-0 at halftime. Not much going on offense for the Rebels and giving up big plays though the air and on the ground. Not much positive I can say at this point. Could see an 0-5 start this year. Maybe worse if things don't start gelling.
-
Good luck tonight Gunner. I made the game against Central last year cause my Rebels were playing a different night. Can't make that work this year but I'll keep up on here. Post the score every now and then. Are the Raiders on radio this year?

WooHoo!!! Fill up that other side. I'm thinking this was against Boone, may be wrong, but several years ago #2 (Bobby?) was running with the ball, got caught up in a big pile of defenders about 30 yards past the line, and I think he grabbed the belt line of one of his linemen who was blocking in front of him and was pulled/popped right out of that mess and went another 20 or 30 yards for a touchdown. Most likely a highlight of that online somewhere. Good luck tonight, hope the rain blows over by game time.Well today's the day.
Boone is bring a big excited crowd to Colonial Heights tonight.
Here's hoping they won't leave disappointed.
Remember that you always win games with offense and keep the other team from winning with defense.

Is this Thursday or Friday? The newspaper had it listed as being on Friday night.

Maybe not all by 5 TD's but the 45-14 win against Tennessee High last year with TNH later losing narrowly to Elizabethon 21-20 is telling. I think the success of the new school will depend in a large part on how well the Bloomingdale community trucks over to the airport area versus going to Gate City. Not really hanging my hat on that scrimmage. I just do not see last year's DB beating just any school in this area by five touchdowns. Granted they would probably win, but they couldn't just beat the best local talent by Five.Maybe if DB went 9 and 1 last year they could blow everyone out by five touchdowns. Trust me, I understand the whole 1A through 6A classification deal about depth and all. But one guy posted they could beat all locals by five. That would include Elizabethton,East,North,Hampton, and Crockett. No sir, not them by Five touchdowns. I am anxious to see how DB does against Sullivan county's new school in the next few years.
Hoping that Maupin and Malone have good Senior seasons for the Indians. Been around both of those kids since they were toddlers.
-
I like your enthusiasm buddy but this is a little out of touch with reality. Hampton would have given them a good game last year but it would not have been very close. I think North would have imploded against them last year. 6A ball is just a different animal. I know you've been hanging your hat on a good scrimmage against South this year but you might not realize that they only played 3rd/4th/5th string RB's in that scrimmage to get them some experience. This is coming from a North grad.DB couldn't beat Sullivan North, Sullivan east, or Hampton by five touchdowns. I would bet my paycheck on that. Questionable if they could even beat a couple of those teams. I triple guarantee you they couldn't have beat Hamptons team from last year, and Hampton is a AA school. These match ups would never happen though.
-
What time and where?I'm excited for the scrimmage Thursday evening!!! But I'm not a Falcon fan. I'm a Gate City Blue Devil.
-
Was it Perry that carried the ball several times last year as well? I don't think he was a Senior.Lovell and Strickler are the top 2 returning RB's from last year. From what I can tell they have a lot of kids shuffling in and out though since these two are far to important at LB to let them rest on D.
-
Who is the scrimmage with? Just dropped by the stadium and a guy told me he thought it started at 6pm but didn't know who it was with.

Hey Gunner, is SN working in a jamboree this year?

1st possession of 3rd Q SN drove down the field with little resistance. HV chopped the SN QB while RB scored the TD. Will have to see how he is - took him a while to get up. Another failed 2-Pt conversion. 24-14 SN. Raiders have the momentum.
