District Tiurnament starts the 15th 15th - 2 vs 7 seeds 16th - 3 vs 6 17th - 4 vs 5 18th - all the semifinals 20th - consolation games 21st - Chanpionship games The Devils shot the ball very well last night , following up that emotional win at Harpeth ... the blue Devils seem to be coming together scoring 90 points for second time in a row in their gym (where the tourney is ) ..... 10 different players hit a 3 last night Ward (the sophomore) had 6 of their total 19 ... Some teams have two district games left some only 1 ... heritage and harpeth look to be 1/2 ... then 3/4 looks like might come down to the WH /Westmoreland game ! Good luck all , looking forward to an exciting tournament !

Who everyone got tonight?? Heritage at Greenbrier - I got heritage winning this one. COuld the bobcats throw a wrinkle in their bid at the Regular Season Championship?? White House @ Harpeth - These teams have already played twice. Fist time in beech christmas tourney WH won 59-50 , and Harpeth beat White House at White House 59-50 ...... White House has been scoring more, and playing much better as of late. They might just be starting to click at the right time. I got White House with a double digit win Cheatham at sycamore - sycamore plays much better at home as it has been seen this year ! Cheatham finally will have all their players back from injury and suspensions. I think this will be a close one, but my gut tells me cheatham going to win tonight !! Good luck to all, The seeds should be getting closer to getting locked in after tonight !!

Agree it is crunch time. These teams are all bunched up , and it seems seeds 3-7 are definitely up for grabs!! It will be interesting to see who will fall where, and how that affects the tournament !! As I said from the beginning of the year, I would love to see an all White House Final! 1 seed plays the winner of 4/5 3 plays 6 2 plays 7 More will be known of who will be the 1 and 2 seed after Tuesday night ! I like heritage at home, and to ultimately be the 1 seed. Westmoreland, Harpeth, and White House all still have to play each other. Harpeth could lose next three games and still be the #2 seed depending on the westmoreland white house game. Which could be a huge seeding game. My picks for tuesday Heritage over Harpeth WH over Cheatham Westmoreland over Greenbrier. My PREDICTION: 1) Heritage (10-2) 2) Harpeth (8-4) 3) White House (7-5) - winning tie breaker of head to head over Westmoreland 4) Westmoreland (7-5) 5) Sycamore (5-7) 6) Greenbrier (3-9) - winning tie breaker over cheatham with Heritage Win 7) Cheatham (3-9) - dangerous 7 seed with probably being healthy, and no more suspensions Good luck to all, and probably setting up for a WILD TOURNEY

ohh my fault..... I think they have had same head coach Petrone, but a variety of different assistants over the years. Thought the Assistant did a good job against White House the other night as well !!

Please read what you wrote again ... pretty sure college players aren't "kids" smh the different in a 15 year old Compared to an 18 or 19 year old is MUCH. Different then a 19 year old to a 22/23 year old come on now , obviously you were 6th man on your highschool team and played no further or college ball .... even coach Cal at Kentucky knows that youth in terms of "experience" is a factor that matters .... there are no SUPREME athletes around these parts and that is what you are referring to in your comment about freshmen "dominating" maybe like 2/3 freshmen in the WHOLE NATION. Out of THOUSANDS of players come on now

This is Coach Welch and his assistants from middle school 3rd year helping Coach Smith... I would say looking better then it was .... 12-13 = 6-24 13-14 = 3-24 2 years before he and his staff got there below is after he arrived 14-15 = 10-15 15-16 = 15-15 and appeared in district championship for first time since 2011 So I would say going pretty good thus far , and not making excuses for the devils or anyone else .... but what welch did for Malik Morgan sending the BEST player in the district to prep school with the kid in mind not the TEAM or personal success says something ..... Because if station camp wouldn't have recruited Elliot (even though he came back , and got dismissed from team ) If White House had these two players , there would be no question who the best team was .... that's my OPINION , those aren't the circumstances but if you disagree I would say you don't know much about basketball

Didn't mean it as lucky they won , but would have been different game .... but let's all get some perspective and get real here .... WH did what it was obvious they came to do ... #14 had less then 10 points give heritage other players credit for showing up and playing well ..... But let's get real here White House is starting 3 sophomores and 3/4 subs are freshmen.... these other district teams IMO should be embarrassed WH even competing much less having opportunities to win and winning against other opponents .... EVERY other team ATLEAST starting 3 seniors minimum .... that is 14/15 year olds against 18 year olds .... come on now....if any of you know ANYTHING about basketball that experience can only be learned through playing games , not anything else .... conclusion from last night : heritage the best team in the district...... does that mean they will be best team at tourney time .... only time will tell ! But I would love to see the two MATCHUP AGAIN FOR THE DUSTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP !!!

I checked unapproved website pretty sure the devils are an over 70% free throw shooting team on the year so maybe the patriots got lucky they shot about 40% or might have been different game ...

Hope everyone had great Christmas tournaments !!! Looking forward to district play getting started again ! I saw the White House - Harpeth game at beech ..... White House had 4 freshmen and senior on court for much of the 2nd quarter .... White House was down 7 going into the 4th winning it 22-6 .... the White House team is crazy inconsistent even from quarter to quarter .... a dangerous team , but also a team everyone probably feels they can beat ..... This is my new regular season district predictions anyone else have any ??? 1) White House -Heritage 2) White House 3) Westmorland 4) Harpeth 5) Cheatham 6) Sycamore 7) Greenbrier Truth be told 4-7 could all be mumbled jumbled ... I just feel the two White House teams are the clas of this district ... one is very consistent the other is jeckle and Hyde ! Good luck to everyone !

Never doubt petrone ???? What has it been 3/4 district championship games in 14 years .. so guess you right one every 4 years would have every player in one ... believe they only won 1 maybe 2 of those championship games in Single A with arguably a better set of players then this team just not as "big" .... they have only made it passed district 1st round one time since going AA 3 years ago .... I think they will be in championship this year , just depends how seeding falls .... IMO worst thing that could happen to the patriots is if somehow White House still up and down and they meet before championship game .... happy for the patriots though ! Just hope they aren't Doing all their winning to early , and end up watching later

Saunders is still hurt for Cheatham ... I actually went to Cheatham to watch this game ... Side note: was told WH freshmen won 60 something to 20 something .... But White House seemed as if they weren't ready to play ... they woke up and came alive in the 4th quarter creating an exciting game that was very much no energy boring for 3 quarters ..... the officiating was very suspect one WH player got shoved to ground WAY off ball with no "flagrant" ... the time keeper probably worst or told to mess up clock .... there were at least 4 clock freezes discussion between table and officials last 3/4 minutes of game ... twice while WH shooters were at FT line .... Oh and #5 Jared Ward is a basketball player ... I predict will make his mark in this district come January .... Heritage is obviously my new favorite to win district ... seniors playing well and Oskin gives them toughness and energy on the defensive end .... looking forward to some more district 9-AA should have some good games

Very Tough Draw for WH to be on that side of the bracket ..... have to agree with you WH could either get blown out or make for an interesting matchup ... History says WH won't perform well , I hoping different this year ... MBA has a strong team played with Christian Brothers who is probably considered TOP 3/4 team in State especially Div 2 ..... I like independence to win it all over MBA in the championship game .... I woukd like to see White House or Harpeth do what they need to do to NOT play each other since they already play each other 2 or possibly 3 times already ! ..... Good luck to all and should be a good 3 days of local High School basketball

Welcome to the CoachT !! I will agree this year is heritage year and powerhouse might be a strong word .... but I don't see it for next year with them losing Desmarais (spelling ?) and Upton .... they make them Chug ....not sure what grade 11 is in but they also losing strong ball handler in 0 as well ... but I don't like to speak On next year .... but White House is playing 4 sophomores and 2 freshmen a lot of minutes .... Found out the big freshmen from White House was injured in JV game and why he didn't play ... I would agree heritage did shoot many lay ups against White House press but heritage had to have 20+ turnovers the Devils just couldn't turn them into points .... might be something for the patriots to be wary of moving forward .... But as many have said would love to see an all White House district championship because that atmosphere was great !!!

When looking back and at history of Petroni heritage teams , they have stayed pretty much the same .... maybe be different this time around because feel this is their year with those 8th graders who won county championship finally being seniors ! I always pull for both White House teams unless facing each other....

Cleggy - nice call on the score , and believe the three you mentioned all double digit scoring .... Great atmosphere last night ..... I got to say it just kept feeling like everyone in the gym was just waiting for White House to get a few turnovers and start hitting 3's and make game close or take the lead .... seemed everyone thought that but white house's players ..... a team that can shoot the 3 ball like they actually can ..... looked defeated with about 6 minutes or so in a TEN point ball game shows to me youth , inexperience , and lack of leadership on the court .... Been watching these players for a while, and their assistant coach from back when coaches middle school , great game for the patriots ... but no one should be writing off the Devils for 1 game in December .... Side note : the streak continues I am pretty sure the visiting team has now won this rivalry game 6 straight times ...

Cleggy - I believe counting the 2005 Christmas tournament at Overton heritage is up 4-3 all time with the two school splitting winning away games the last 2 years ....Heritage with the sweep the first year in same district .... White House beat smith county this summer by 10-12 points ..... new blue let's not forget they played a top 5 AA team in the state the night before Springfield game , and didn't just play but had Maplewood on the ropes ..... to think they weren't emotionally , mentally , and physically not themselves on the next night would be foolish ....

Got to throw the records out when this game is played .... even though I feel if schedules were switched the teams would have each other's records .... All depends on who controls the pace of this game ... Don't think heritage speed and defense will Be even close to last two Devils' opponents .... Only chance heritage has to win this game in the Devils' gym is to have a quick start......Because they will get hot , the question is will they get hot to catch up or pull away ... I got the Devils winning this one..... If the Blue Devils start well , the patriots will be in big trouble ..

POY .... hmmmm Have to agree with informer in terms of "MVP" will prob come From the regular season Champion .... unless someone just separates themselves individually .... Who does everyone play this week ? I know White House finally playing a home game in their new gym tomorrow against Portland so that is where I will be .... Then maplewood on Friday , Springfield on Saturday for the Devils .... I don't think any of us can disagree that they have had the toughest schedule of the bunch before district play ...

Cleggy , do you mean White House or East literature being good ... I would say the Devils haven't been good since the 07-08 season ..... One could argue that "great equalizer" was actually their DOWNFALL as they hadn't had a winning season since , if memory serves me right , 6-4 district record that year as well , and they have won 7 distrixt wins two yeas consecutively the past two years ..... so I'm guessing you were meaning east lit good, they still are ....

Hate to hear that about those seniors at Cheatham ... no one ever can see or want that to happen Seems this district will have a lot of parody .... White House out to a slow start , have to agree missing Morgan who could create from nothing , and also their 2/3 year starting point guard ..... Seems White House will go with how their shooting goes ... I have seen these players play many times , and hard to think this slump will continue .... The east Robertson game was a strange game ... the Devils seems to take control up 8 or so in 4th quarter and squandered the game away .... Still a lot of youngsters out there , feel this team will get better and better as the experience ticks , and they settle on 6-8 players .. the games I have watched they have played 11-14 players .... The Cheatham schools seem down , would love to see even though long ways away a ALL WHITE HOUSE district championship in White House Good luck to all this week !

Might be the funniest post I have seen on here in a while (until i go read 9AAA and mjhoops posts haha) considering they were 1-3 against the 2nd and 3rd place team from this district last year and an East Robertson Loss ........and losing literally their only good player in Utley..... almost losing all credibility of all statements with this one 49er come on now ....

About 9AA not getting at least one region win. I don't think this district has had many or any other then Cheatham County getting a couple.... Hard to say or tell whoever wins the district tournament I would say has a really good chance to win a region game unless the champion is a big upset. Guess we will find out decently early about that since White House Heritage usually plays a regional opponent or two before district play. And looking at White House Schedule they play Hume Fogg, MLK, and Maplewood in their first 7 games. So I will comment either agreeing or obviously disagreeing once those games are played .
