I believe this tournament is wide open, anything can happen that is for sure My predictions for the first round........ Heritage vs. Cheatham--I don't think cheatham will play spoiler this year. Heritage-55 Cheatham-45 Greenbrier vs. Westmoreland---The tourney host will come ready to play. They have been very much competitive lately and seem to shoot well in their gym. Greenbrier-53 Westmoreland-50 White House vs. Sycamore--Their two previous meetings were both good games. Should be a great Friday night game.....White House- 63 Sycamore- 57 p.s.---I don't think Harpeth is looking forward to playing the winner of this game either way it goes.

White House made it to the state tournament in 2007. Interested to see what happens in the district tonight. Harpeth at Heritage--Harpeth can go to 4 wins, or Heritage can get on the board, and have many scratching their heads after White House beat them. Cheatham at White House--can white house right the ship is the question here. Greenbrier at Westmoreland--Greenbrier should win this game. White House has lost two close district games by a total of 4 points. They have faltered in the final minutes of each game. Their youth seems to be creeping up on them. Based on what I have seen the last two years, they will start playing less players eventually , and be better after Christmas and leading into tournament play. I still going to stick by my devils unless they don't have a good January......

District Play begins next week! Now that we are a couple weeks in and passed thanksgiving. How do you think it will shape up before district play begins? The county line determines which school you go to. Sumner - White House High School Robertson - White House Heritage White House plays an up-tempo type game. Shooting threes and lay-ups basically with 4 guards/wings around a post player. They also play smaller with 5 wings or guards. They run variety of defenses that I have observed from man to man, zone presses, and 1-3-1 White House Heritage plays a slower type tempo game. Usually with 2 bigs. More controlled set play type offense. Petrone's speacialty of continuity ball screen offenses. Usually run man to man exclusively. Heritage has a solid front-court this year, with a senior PG who is currently injured

The community atmosphere is great ! White House traveled down there last year, and played one of the most exciting High School basketball games I had seen. In a great old gym. Very nice respectful people , who understand and love basketball !! Both teams went over 100 points that night Good luck this year in moving up !

How did the heritage portland scrimmage go on monday? anyone know? White house scrimmaged Hendersonville and Franklin Simpson last week. White House Still missing about 4 varsity players due to football. They lost to Hendersonville by about 10, and lost to Franklin Simpson by 4 points. White House travels down to their bi-annual scrimmage against Hillwood today, University School of Nashville will also be there.

I think some people forget about that 04 team with levering, and the sullins, ricky, Cody harmon, west, mcdonald, weakley, the list goes on. They were playing "up" in 4A and should have been a division lower as the very next year moved back down. White House had like a 15-17% decrease in enrollment, need 20% to get the exemption back down. Hard to say they wouldn't have won the state championship that year if they would have been where they were supposed to be. Beat greenbrier that year by like 2 touchdowns and they lost in the State Championship in 3A I'll never forget watching that semi final game in melrose, but putting up over 50 points in quarterfinals and 49 in the first round of playoffs ...at home is unforgettable Leloup - you were a great player on a great defense !! all facts.

Lets not forget about Rogers Gaines - considering he did start Division 1 football , and did not give up a sack the whole year in college. Oh and not to mention pretty sure he is the ONLY PLAYER to sniff NFL football making 2/3 practice squads adn participating in Pre Season Games.... Well Finch did have a try-out and chance to make the Bengals practice squad one year, but nothing came of it..... Kyle levering would have been the best if you know he didn't have to sit behind Gordon Keene for a whole year when he was obviously the better QB But been many quality players glad to see White House appearing to be back.... We will find out when the 2nd round and Quarterfinals come a creeping !! BDP !!!

The new year is upon us with everyone starting practices this week. Not much has changed in this district as they are the same teams.... What are your early predictions? Who is the player to watch for each team? Anybody know of any scrimmages these teams have planned? My preseason predictions are as follows 1) White House - Ward 2) Cheatham - Marberry 3) White House-Heritage - Neely 4) Greenbrier - Post player who transferred back from beech name?? 5) Harpeth - ??? 6) Sycamore - James left so ?? 7) Westmoreland - ???

The White House/ Sycamore game, was a good game. I believe sycamore never had the lead in this ball game. Sycamore hit some threes early to keep the devils from getting away from them. And that is kind of how the game went devils be up 10 sycamore cut it to 4 devils go back up by 10 and so on. The referees did seem to swallow their whistle some in the second half that prob played a factor in Sycamore staying in game as they were running pressure, deny, trapping man, while the devils stayed in their 1-3-1 and the foul count was up to 10 fouls for WH and 2 for sycamore at one point. The devils did seem to falter a little at the end of the game, good thing their assistant coach (welch) who was the head coach last night as I heard the head coach is sick with the flu had many time outs left for the end of the game.....Tough game to be your first "head coaching " job , but the devils got the win and congratulations to him as he is a TRUE White House person... Ward really playing well of late 35 monday , 27 last night.... The name of tournament basketball is survive and advance at times, Happy for the devils as they continue on their winning streak now has reached 7. I looked back through the schedules here on coach T and last time 7 game winning streak happened was 2010 ....... Good luck to westmoreland and greenbrier tonight..... Something tells me greenbrier going to win , but never know !! See everyone on saturday , where lets be honest everyone around here wants the two white hosue teams to win to see the ALL WHITE HOUSE final in White House, lol.....

First Games of The Tournament tonight !!! Boys game is 2) Harpeth vs. 7) Cheatham I am still an experience type person when it comes to tournament time. The cubs even though finished the 7 seed have had injuries and suspensions pretty much all year missing their best players. They won the championship last year, I know they lost a few seniors, and very good seniors at that. But just playing in that game , coaching that far over and over I just feel is going to pay off for the Cubs tonight. Harpeth has a new coach, and i saw they only beat Cheatham by 1 last time they played, and the cubs were missing their two best players. I think this game will be a great, wild one to open up the district tournament. My hunch is the cubs going to come ready to play and give harpeth all they want tonight. I got cheatham "upsetting" harpeth 56-50 tonight...... Good luck to both teams !!

Last night of district play !!! Who ya got tonight , there are some big seeding games happening !! 1) Heritage takes on 7) Cheatham county : Believe these two teams are locked in as 1 seed and 7 seed .. Congratulations Heritage on winning the regular season Championship keeping Cheatham from having a 4 year District alignment sweep ! I got Heritage in this game , and I have been around White House for a long time , and i believe heritage going for a 20 win REGULAR season for the first time in school history ! ... 3) White House vs 4) Westmoreland - this game is for the 3 seed ....if White House wins they will be the 3 seed ... if westmoreland wins , depending on who wins the Sycamore greenbrier game will determine the 3 seed .... believe if White House loses and greenbrier wins White House is the 3 ... if westmoreland and Sycamore win then Westmoreland is the 3 seed .... I got White House in this game ... they have scored over 90 in 3 of their last 4 ... I doubt the eagles will run up and down the court with the Devils , but I got the Devils in their gym on senior night 72-58 ..... 5/6) greenbrier vs 5/6) Sycamore - winner of this game will be the 5 seed and the loser will be the 6 seed ... I really have no idea who will Win this game ... I believe greenbrier is at home so I will give them the nod 58-52 !! This should be an exciting tournament , as these teams have beat up On each other all year ! As I have said many times I am hoping and wishing for an all WHITE HOUSE final to see the new gym packed to max for the championship Good luck to all and it's that time of year !!!

Bamapappy if you have Facebook you can actually watch the game at 10 for 10 network .... also White House basketball has a group on Facebook, and they have a website and share all the stats if ever just wondering .... The game had turnovers and transition buckets ... also was good shooting pretty much all the way around .. very fun game , but wasn't like each team was just letting other team score to get the ball ... just first open look especially by community was taken ...

I watched the game via 10 for 10 , they did not have great service ..... seemed to be a great game and their were various runs back and forth usually created by a defensive turnover .... both teams shot the ball well !! Seemed community just got tired in the end ! Very fun game lots of players , and lots of good basketball for buckets .... community must have ran 3/4 defenses during the game ! ... the atmosphere seemed great with home side full !!! These blue Devils seem to play good in big crowds (station camp(beech tourney), maplewood(home) greenbrier (home), Cheatham (home) ) ..... but to go on a long trip and put up 116 in a gym you never seen on another team senior night is a feat .... no questions asked ... great game by both teams , good luck in the tournaments !

Nice stats NEWBLUE and probably true about the devils. In their last 5 contests (greenbrier, springfield, cheatham, harpeth, and east robertson) their average is like 71 ppg. which is a decent mixture of defenses. White House @ Community - I won't be there , but will watch on TEN for TEN network. I got white house winning by double digits..... Idk if on Community senior night if they will drop another huge scoring night on the road. But I got them 70-54 over community. Greenbrier vs. Cheatham - I still think cheatham going to start playing better once these players get to play again!!...and get a couple games under their belt. Not a true 7 seed IMO, I think this game will be close. 53-49 Cheatham winning Heritage @ sycamore - sycamore is a different team in their gym, beating white house, almost beating westmoreland, beating MLK earlier in the year. I agree with newblue won't be a blow out, but i just don't see the senior lead Patriots , not taking advantage of their cross town school setting them up for the championship after beating harpeth last week. I got Heritage 64-50 tonight.
