    1. Bradley

    2. McMinn has a couple good players.

    3. Cleveland will compete for second.

    4. Walker Valley don’t know what they return?

    5.Ooltewah about the same.

    6. Rhea way down.

    7 Howard just bad.

Based on this input, I would put a large gap between 3 & 4. Also, don’t see how Rhea could possibly be as bad as Ooltewah,

  2. According to MP (based only on scores submitted, so certainly not scientific), for Chattanooga area top TN 10 teams this year were:

    1. Bradley Central

    2. Meigs County

    3. Tellico Plains

    4. Cleveland

    5. Whitwell

    6. McMinn Central

    7. Silverdale Academy

    8. Baylor

    9. McMinn County

    10. Warren County

The biggest misplacements I see are that Tellico Plains is too high on list (play a very easy schedule) and McMinn County maybe a few spots too low (but beaten handily by McMinn Central both times). Also, Baylor may have been school most impacted by COVID in Chattanooga area. At full strength, they could probably compete with all on here but Bradley, but they had losses to some really bad teams when they had key players out. I was surprised that Signal Mountain was 13th, but they did lose to a few teams on this list & also lost to Polk County (12th on list),

The other thing that jumps out to me is how bad Hamilton County public schools are. The lack of a good AAU & youth development program in Chattanooga is glaring.

Current posted vacancies (per TSSAA Bulletin Board):

    • BGA
    • Centennial
    • Columbia Central
    • East Hamilton
    • Independence

I'd expect in the next month or so, you'll see a lot more get posted as coaches retire, move elsewhere, or get fired.

Had no idea Hunter Gremore was leaving East Hamilton. Where’s he going?

  4. Yes, too early, but who will be the most likely to compete with Bradley Central, who has won their last 97 District games? With going to 4 Classifications, the District will look a little different with the following teams.

    -Bradley Central

    -Cleveland

    -McMinn Co

    -Ooltewah

    -Rhea Co

    -Howard

    -Walker Valley

Honestly, I don’t see Bradley losing a District game, so maybe the question is who will finish 2nd - 4th? Probably Cleveland, McMinn & Rhea, but don’t know much about Howard.

Cleveland lost 5 (really 6) senior starters & while they will be ok, I don’t think they would win a Region game vs the OLD District 6AAA, but I don’t know much about the new 6AAAA, except 3 pretty good teams from last year are no longer in 6AAAA (Stone, White Co & Cookeville).

So, how are you related to her?

Not sure why not liking Porter? She pretty much took her team on her back in Q4 to win the Bradley game & get to Championship game. She was for sure the difference in the Bradley game. Great player.

  6. 1st round Thurs Mar 11

    Bradley Central v Lebanon

    Hardin Co v Bearden

    Collierville/Arlington v Blackman

    Page v Maryville

    Who wins?
Anyone with statewide knowledge care to rank the teams? I don’t really know, but with Bradley, Lebanon & Bearden on top half, that looks like toughest side of bracket.
Shouldn’t Blackman be a lock on bottom half?

  7. Bradley won 36-31 over Oakland.
Bradley absolutely could not have shot the ball any worse. Missed 8-10 layups & many, many free throws down the stretch as Oakland fouled when Bradley got up 8-9 points midway through the 4th. I think 5 points was the closest margin down the stretch.

Bradleys 2 leading scorers tonight were both junior subs off the bench.

Saying good luck at Ole Miss to Grant Slatten , best player in White Co history .

That is saying a lot, and I will take your word for it.

Gag me!  Without the refs help Cookeville would have won!  No sleeping giant to be woke.  Buck is  a game changer on offense and defense.  You’re lucky she was out

Victim alert!!! Call Nancy Pelosi for help!!!
Also, see picture in other thread for the contact.

Lucky? Bradley has been extremely lucky & extremely blessed by the officials for 10 of the last 11 years in the Region tourney (half the time at the District 6 floor).

  10. Heard tonight after the game that Reuter has won 10 Region titles in his 11 years as a head coach & is 32-1 or something like that in the Region 3 AAA Tournament. That is insane.
Some people knock the 90 something straight District wins by saying that it’s a weak District, but the last two years Miss Basketball was in the District & Madison Hayes had a great year at Miss State & was just selected to the SEC All Freshman Team.
District 6AAA has had some quality teams as well, so 10 of 11 Region Championships just ain’t bad...

Oh, and Bradley’s two leading scorers tonight are sophomores...

  11. Well, the two teams that everyone in the State of TN predicted to be there (except a few residents of White County & Cookeville) are in the R3 finals.
I will say again what I said at beginning of season - I hope these two teams meet in the State Championship game. Would be awesome!
    But - who wins tonight?
