1. I heard from a coach at the state that nick would be ineliglbe because of tbhe change of guardianship rule. TSSAA states that there can be only one change of guardianship allowed. That means that nick had his change to go live with his dad. Tssaa will not allow a 2nd change and consider him eligible. He would have to sit 1 year. Thats from a mid state coach. :(

This is somewhat true, but not quite. A court ordered injunction can change the guardianship rule and allow Van Horn his eligibility for Grace his senior year if he were to move back to Chattanooga and live with his mom. Last I heard, his father is considering a move back the the Atlanta area which could allow Nicky V to move back and attend Grace in Chatt-town, still maintaing his guardianship with his father, but who knows? I just wish Nicky V the best and we miss him.

  2. OK, arguing the point is just making you look like an idiot. So what if there are 317 D 1 teams. How many are in the area? I'd say maybe 20-25. How is he going to play at a school say in North Dakota? As to other people...From previous posts, people are saying that he could walk on at some schools. I think when people bring up the argument of whether a player is D 1 worthy they are talking about actually earning a scholarship. When you walk on you don't play. There are extremely rare occasions such as Moody at Kansas, but there is a lot more to that than you know. So Parshall probably couldn't earn a scholarship at a D 1 school. Maybe in two years, but not now. Could he walk on at a small D 1 school? Of course, that's not a stretch. But he wouldn't play.

Anyways, the reason I'm on here...is Caleb's hamstring alright?

you are right, this is ridiculous to argue about.

  3. ive played against dragoo..he's not the caliber of player that plays d1...if he's so good, how come he only once in a blue moon so action in a game?

    825601886

I've played with both and know both. All I am saying is that they were good enough to play D I and so is Parshall. He says he wants to work hard and play D I eventually. Only time will tell...

  4. no they weren't good enough to sit the bench d1, it was just a note of charity from henry dickerson...but anyway parshall would even not sit the bench for savannah state...there is just that big of a difference between d1 and naia that you just have no clue about so stop trying to argue it

All I have to say is, ask Zack Dragoo and Keith Galloway if it was a favor or if they earned it. That's ignorant of you to say. Perhaps, they would give you a clue.

  5. haha no neither of them walked on and played...they walked on and went straight to put the jersey on and sit on the end of the bench and never get in a game, haha when i still was in chatt i went to almost all of the games and neither of them played a single minute of a game i was there..parshall cannot and will not play d-1..it is just a totally different ball game than what you guys think..i mean justin hare is a hundred times better than parshall and he is coming off the bench at belmont, and you want to tell me parshall can go do that...i dont think so, and im not bashing the kid but there is just a big difference between naia and d-1, in my opinion he coudln't even play at the school i attend, its just a different level than single a basketball, but keep saying what you guys want

    825601554

What does that mean? They were still good enough to sit the bench D I. I never said Parshall could lead the ACC in scoring, but he is good enough to ride the pine somewhere. Remember, and I'll say it again; There are freakin' 317 D I teams!

  6. Parshall just isn't big enough to play in a D1 school.  He is a lot like Skogan in that he just doesn't have enough muscle but Parshall is bigger than Skogan.  But back to the game, If Grace shoots like they did last night then they should win in double overtime by 6.  This will be the matchup of the Floppers.

Hey, genius, that argument doesn't work because Skogen is playing D I. If I were you, I would use another example, maybe someone bigger and more talented than Parshall that isn't playing D I.

By the way, what happened to your boys, CCS got whacked, hehe.

  7. I will end this debate right now. Zach Dragoo (class AA from CSAS) and Keith Galloway(class A from LV) both walked on and played at UTC which is a very good mid-major program and Parshall is better than both of them. Are you seriously saying that programs like Elon, Bethune-Cookman, Belmont, or Gardner Webb wouldn't want Parshall? He is going to put the time and work into making this happen, and the program that gets him will be the better for it.

  8. Ill-conceived or not -- in my opinion -- Parshall is not good enough to play for a D1 school. Has he had any offers? Where? If not, why not? Correct me if I'm wrong.

    825601111

Opinions are funny things. You also had the opinion that Grace would lose to CCS by 3 last night, but we all can be wrong from time to time. The fact of the matter is that Parshall is good enough to play D I. Just because someone may not be recruited doesn't necessarily mean they do not have the talent to play on that level. Parshall knows more than anyone that if he would have pushed himself earlier in his career, he would be going D I right now. Look at Christian Moody for Kansas. He was recruited by a few mid-major programs but he walked on at Kansas and is now their 6th man and contributes 6 and 4 every night. The question is not whether Parsall will play D I, but does he have the talent to? Of course he does. Remember, there are 317 D I men's basketball teams. I am sure he could fill a roster spot somewhere...

  9. I hate to bust your bubble -- but I don't think JP is D1 material.

Sure he's a good player but not good enough to play at the major college level.

    825600666

Why not? Are you telling me that D I schools in the Atlantic Sun, Colonial, or even Southern Conferences wouldn't want a player of Parshall's caliber. Obviously, no one thinks he is good enough for the big time programs, but to say he isn't D I material is ill-conceived.

  10. I may be going out on a limb here but I would say that Grace is peaking at the perfect time. If Grace plays with the same intensity and shoots the ball well like they did tonight, they will beat Temple. Yeah, that's right, I said "will beat Temple." Grace has become the team that they were supposed to become this year(finally) so who knows. Temple may still be better, but the gap is closing...

  11. Mouw will play him better than anyone else has played him. Both Mouw and his older brother play great low post defense against bigger, stronger, more athletic guys. I won't say that he will shut him down, because i feel that A. Robinson is as good as everyone ( mostly south pitt fans) say he is he can't be shut down, just controlled. However, the game will not be decided in the low-post, it will be decided at the guard spots. It all depends on how good Caleb wants to look going into the region CHUMPionship (single A is Chumps). Temple is the best team in the state, their not overly cocky, but still I really would like to see SP beat them.

    TEMPLE by 20 at least

    825596279

"CHUMPionship?" Ask CSAS, Ooltewah, East Ridge, and McCallie if Single A teams are chumps. I may be crazy (which I am) but I would put Temple up against most schools in the state, regardless of class. They may not win every game but it would be close. By the way, do you even know why we have classes? School size, genius. I, for one, am impressed with what most Single A teams do with their enrollment and the type of basketball that they continually play, i.e. Tennessee Temple. Chumps? I beg to differ.

  12. I think grace has this one, but it will be close.  If Grace can keep a lead then they could win big.  The twin towers can score 45 again and that is ok because that is almost all there scoring.  To bad it is at Sale Creek, we don't get to hear the best announcer in the state. (The guy from Grace).

    825596364

You are right, that guy is good!

  13. Grace outplayed CCS for most of the game the first time but CCS did what it took to get the W. If Grace stays with their game plan for 32 minutes, they are a better team than CCS. The Groothuis brothers hurt Grace inside, but they both have to have good games and get easy looks b/c they are not effective offensively away from the basket. If Parshall and Eldridge are hot, it is over. Grace has alot of confidence coming into this one with the way they played at Temple and against LV last night but anything can happen. However good they are, losing a starter hurts and will affect CCS with Neilsen being out. Look for Grace to defend the post better and outplay CCS's guards on the perimeter.

    Grace - 64

    CCS- 58

  14. No one on graces team or that goes to grace would ever say anything like to seth- b/c 1. they are scared to and 2. he would beat the crap out of them- but this is a worthless conversation I agree with entirely with sr35's last post....

    825591268

This is ridiculous, let's get back to basketball. Just for the record, there are alot of guys at Grace that would never back down from anyone at Temple, so let's just try to not say things that are incendiary about either school. Should be a good game if these two meet again...
