  1. Clarksville is the biggest wildcard of this playoff. They have home field advantage all the way through the third round. Yes their schedule was week but they are a solid team all around. They really don’t have any glaring weaknesses to be taken advantage of. And they are set up to grow through the playoffs as their opponents get progressively better each week.

    Collierville / Houston / Germantown / Brentwood / Finals

Not that I expect them to make it through this Gauntlet. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they make it to Germantown at home. And if they can pull that off, then they will at least be ready to compete with Brentwood.

Kirkwood has not played a team that will hit them like Dickson will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their apponents have not won a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dickson will destroy them up front. Dickson is very physical and does not show any mercy.  This game Kirkwood remembers for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dickson 42-0.

Good Call 42-12 win for the Cougars. But I expect next week to be a similar score against DC.

  3. This will be one of the better games of the week.

It will be the 100th meeting between these two teams.

Clarksville will have the Home Field advantage and may be the better team, led by a very strong O-line.

But Springfield always plays Clarksville hard, and they have the momentum of winning the last 4 meetings. Coach Shelby is 3 and 6 against the jackets since he's been at CHS, and this is most likely  seen as a must win game for a team that is looking to be seen as a legitimate program.

Clarksville's field is in the best shape I have ever seen it in, and Friday looks to be a hot one with a high of 99.

I recommend Dock 17 restaurant for Jacket's fans looking to grab dinner near-by.

  4. Clarksville actually got it right by convincing their schools to play up to 6A and creating an all city region. Now instead of traveling all around the mid-state and playing schools that we could careless about, we are playing games that seem to mean a lot more because of the cross town rivalries. And if we are honest there is very little difference between 4A/5A/6A. Everyone doesn't need a trophy from the state, Now our kids are playing for bragging rights in their home town.

So I'm intellectually small and emotionally weak because I will actually speak out about the coaching going on at that program, instead of being a "good little boy" and keeping my mouth shut? You are Beta Mentality.

Hey Brother. I understand the frustration that you are feeling...Coach Watson deserves criticism for his lack of success with the team. And a lot of the Wave's shortcomings this year, appear to be due to the coaching staff. But there's no place for saying the team sucks. Not only is it wrong to criticize these young men like that, but it simply isn't true.

Your attitude is what's wrong with sports today. "Just keep doing the same thing and somehow expect better results" "Don't say hurtful things, cause people these days can't handle the truth" They sucked this year. They sucked last year. They sucked the year before that. Oops, did I hurt somebody's feelings? Pretty soft individual if I did. I'd say a softer sport may be necessary for anybody who is hurt or offended to hearing that this Head Coach just plain, flat out sucks.

I don't have a dog in this fight. But when I read a post like this, I see an individual who is intellectually small and emotionally weak...Hope that doesn't hurt your feelings.

  7. Standing very near to their sideline, the players and the coaches could not even begin to comprehend losing to a Clarksville team...It was a little painful to listen to them as the reality of what was happening began to set in. I don't think they underestimated Clarksville, but I don't believe that they thought they could lose to them either...I'm sure it was a very long bus ride home...
