  1. What DCA should consider based on feedback is fixing boys basketball immediately.   And fixing basketball as a whole for the good of the school.    We can post records in basketball and anywhere else there would be change.

Football will be fine no matter who they hire.

The front runners for the job are good candidates, but not what they thought they would be down to.   We wish them luck.

If loyalty truly matters, then be loyal.  Actions speak louder than words.   Right now with a birdseye view, there is only loyalty to people that are protecting their own self interests.

It would be best for all parties involved.

Those that choose to complain, will complain no matter what.   They are waiting for an answer to their prayers.  They want to see the school be successful.  They want to see winning at the highest level.   One bad decision cost a generation worth of alumni that care about the program.   But that can be fixed when those same people choose to come back.

And that starts at the top with Keith and Dennis.   They need prayers.   Some would say, they need to get out of the way and let the Lord handle it.   I choose to believe there is a higher ceiling than many realize.

Very simple process.  Hire people, not resumes.  If you hire the right people, it all works out in the end.

The longer it drags out, the better the process for everyone.   There is no reason to be in a rush.

Be a fountain, and God bless all!

Copper Basin High School is looking for a hardworking individual to serve as Head Football Coach. Copper Basin has a very supportive administration and community. There is an opening currently for Computer Science/MS PE. Send a letter of interest and resume to Principal, Holly Smith, hsmith@polkcountyschools.com, or Athletic Director, Jeff Grimes, jgrimes@polkcountyschools.com.

I know Jeff well.  im gonna head on down there and put my paperwork in.

There is a trickle-down effect here for sure. Pandora's box has been opened. However, it falls back on the School(s) and the powers that be at each to act in a quick and decisive manner to ensure current players are retained and new players feel welcomed and wanted. This "new era" now requires timely decision making to avoid fallout and getting left behind. The Trojan Horse is hiding in plain sight. Get on, or get out of the way seems to be the only path forward now.

The oldest Trojan has the youngest foal staring into the Atlantic. There is a path to work together, and with everyone involved.   With the Sheriff involved, anything is possible.  However, we might have to reach out to RIP to help with volleyball at some point.

Let's get football settled.   These things take time.   Although we do not like outsiders, if you bring one in, you have to bring in another Stallion with ties that knows the landscape to balance the power.

The White Horse can handle the Trojan.   He is one of the few.

Big Picture hire is to bring in Secretariat.

Here is my new fear in this process in this new era of sports. If a player and/or family does not get the coach that THEY want, who is taking their football and cleats and going to play on the other side of the fence? It's kind of like the NIL situation driving movement in college sports in other words. Not every player will feel this way of course but just thinking out loud on this one.

This is why you should always be nice to the kids that might not be on the team, that might not be big enough to play, or lack a little confidence, but want to win more than anyone.  You have to find the kids that are about winning and having a positive experience.  If you can rally around those kids, then often times you have found something.  There could be one Dutton in the bunch that can ignite a fire.

The current staff member that you WOULD give the "interim" tag to is one of the applicants so if you do that most decent candidates are not going to apply because it looks like you already have a coach in waiting.  A lot of coaches do not want to stick their necks out looking for jobs in case it causes a problem with their current employer, Why do that if it appears the job is already spoken for.

Now I know and agree that said current staff member is a "great guy" and all that, but he is not going to get the job. Putting that interim tag on him would only make your situation worse. You certainly would not have had two of the three candidates for sure that have been seen on campus or at said eateries that are considered the "finalists".

Try to see the big picture.

Roc will be back today.   He is currently going to be unemployed, so they can get him for cheap.  He doesn't win anywhere he goes as head coach.

CPA assistant won't stay once a big job opens up.

BA assistant needs a gig because Wade got the job and there is no opportunity for advancement.

Go get the DCA QB who is a winner and knows the school.   And has connections to help in other sports.

    Sheriff has it under control.

Well said. Most Administrations have a Coach or 2 in their top desk drawers for when Goats move to another pasture. The longer it goes by, the more room you leave for uncertainty and regression. At minimum, place an "Interim" tag on somebody in the meantime so you can continue moving the program forward and not leave doubt in the minds of your base. Crucial decisions for DCA Football, and Athletics as a whole, for 2024 and beyond. Will be interesting to follow. :popcorneater:

Sackmaster50, you seem to have all the answers.  Have you coached anywhere before?   Maybe you should apply.

Dennis caught the biggest fish 6 years ago.  Sharks are definitely circling and fresh salad tastes great.

That is correct.   Dennis is a lot of things, as he is the all time winningest coach at the school.   Multiple deep runs, and could have won a couple of more.

He is the GOAT of the Stones River.    Ken Redmond would agree.

Factual evidence suggests he knows what he is doing.   Sit back Sackmaster and trust the process    Yellowstone and RIP have been called.  They dont like outsiders moving in to the Stones!

Heard Huntingdon looked real good against lake co. in 7 on 7 today. Said Warbritton and Eubanks looked real good hooking up on several passes.

Maybe they will throw more during the season.....When it gets to playoff time, the 4 play system doesn't seem to work.
