  1. It is fun to watch the comments and some being positive and some negative. Pierce is hired and time will tell if this is a good hire or not and at this time...he is the coach. We do not know the applicant criteria that DCA was looking for and many factors play into that final choice. Is he a fit for DCA and is DCA a fit for the applicant. Many factors can rule a candidate out or in and yes even the experienced ones don't make the final cut by their choice or the school. The applicant is interviewing DCA as much as they are him. Unless we were in that interview process, all we can do is either be positive or negative, supportive or not. I will be supportive and be there on Friday nights and maybe some Thursday nights as well.
  2. Former Head Coach Paul Wade added that, “Coming back to DCA in 2018 as the head coach was like coming back home. Therefore, I know that feeling that Coach Pierce has, and I couldn’t be happier for him and his family. During my tenure, I was fortunate to have seven former players serve within the program. Now, to have the opportunity to watch one take the reins as head coach is not only exciting but says a lot about this community. Jay will be excellent because he is a product of this program and understands the mission statement of the school. He is a football guy and is a relationship builder. I expect him to continue on with the tradition of success that has been DCA football.”
  3. I heard the same and now it's time to unite the current team, grow the numbers and continue championship level football on the banks of the Stones River! Hopefully the current players will stay and also get those trenches built up!
  4. Maybe an announcement will be coming out soon.
  5. Here is my new fear in this process in this new era of sports. If a player and/or family does not get the coach that THEY want, who is taking their football and cleats and going to play on the other side of the fence? It's kind of like the NIL situation driving movement in college sports in other words. Not every player will feel this way of course but just thinking out loud on this one.
  6. I just wanted to chime in around coaching search at DCA. The interviews just started this week so there has been no delay in announcing the selection. They have multiple great candidates and I am sure the correct coach will be selected to be a leader of these young men both on the field and off the field as students.
