  1. I know a couple in the Murfreesboro Area, but that's about as close to Chattanooga as I'm aware of.
  2. Right, I knew the rules about coaches being hired...I was aiming for a non faculity role of sorts. That makes sense, and believe me I was in no shape or form trying to brag about winning championships or having won awards. That's part of it, but that's not why I'm in football...I'm in football because I love it, hence doing semi pro even though I know most people look down upon it to me it's just a chance to grow as a coach and to get better as a coach. I don't care to coach freshman, I don't care to coach a position, I can do anything they ask me to do. Right now I'm just looking for resume builders because I would eventually like to move on and do something in college (even if it's NAIA or Division 3). I'm doing everything I can to finish school in a timely manner so I qualify for jobs as a GA somewhere, but part of that challenge is getting more experience. When people look at my resume I want them to see two things, 1) I loved football so much I was willing to coach any age, any level, or anybody. 2) I was always trying to get better as a coach, always trying to learn, always trying to go above and beyond what other coaches at my level did to try and get to the next level. I appreciate the answers gentlemen, it's nice to know some people understand the frustration behind this process. I'm going to keep trying, keep plugging, and working hard. I don't believe in failure, nor do I accept it...so hopefully all my hard work will keep paying off.
  3. Why is it so many schools are scared to hire coaches who aren't teachers? I say this for a couple of reasons, the first one being that I've been coaching middle school kids for about four years now, and since that time frame I've won championships and been recognized for awards on a national level. So tell me this, why are there so many schools who are afraid to hire any coach who isn't a teacher? I'm hoping to get an amen from the back, but it's really frustrating. I openly admit, I'm not a teacher who can teach the subjects most teachers teach. I'm more of an electronics guy, and I normally work on electronical stuff like computers and what have you. But I love coaching, and I'd do anything to be a coach at any level. So why is it a solid resume isn't enough anymore? Most people will say, try volunteering at a school first and I've done that...everytime I try I always get turned away. I've been coaching at the youth football level and semi pro level since I've started and I've succeed at those places. I go to clinics and try to better myself year after year, and I study at different colleges to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can but it never seems to work in my favor. So, anybody with any suggestions please feel free to open up to me. I appreciate all advice and all help.
