I can solve your puzzle. I watched the game and they did not cover him. The way they kept him from destroying them was to KEEP THE BALL. The McMinn offense stopped him better than the defense did. I don't know the stats but I'll bet they held the ball almost 36 of the 48 minutes. Tee caught about 10 passes for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns (another TD pass to Tee was called back). Puzzle solvedTHIS WAS A BIG WIN BUT I THOUGHT MCMINN WOULD BE MORE CHALLENGING THAN IT WAS WITH ALL THE TALK ABOUT THE FRONT LINE PLAY. STILL PUZZLED HOW THEY BEAT TEE HIGGINS AND CO. HOW DID THOSE 5FT CORNERS COVER HIM??? INTERESTING.

You three guys need to travel to Middle TN on Friday nights and support Independence. If you really knew Blade, you knew that he disliked most things about OR and he just never wanted to be here. He felt like those who hired him sold him a false impression of the talent level here. He wanted out bad. So you three want him back---he isn't coming back so go join him. Do you think the defense the last three years has been soft? This year's defense isn't up to par for sure but you guys need to jump ship and head west. Go support a guy who doesn't like OR, was 35-15 while he was here, as opposed to a guy who is 36-8 the second time around and 155-32 overall at OR. I know you'll all three say what you can to demean the current staff and team so I'll stop with this post---but I sure hope the three of you head west.

I worry that you are correct about our lines and I'm not sure what we can do about it. I still think we can go deep in the playoffs, if not all the way, because I don't think there is a dominant team on this side of the state.I have said from game 1 that Oak Ridge does not have the defense or O or D lines u need to go to State.McMinn is just one of those games that anything could happen. When u play a team who runs the clock down and does things on offense u never see all year it makes it hard. But the Oak Ridge offense has just not looked smooth to me.We live of the big play of Tee or JG.When that is not there we look awful. The defense is the worst tackling O.R. team Ive seen in long time.We have to try something to combat how bad our Dline is.Move people around or whatever. But I think the loss will wake up a team who thinks they are better than what they really are.Cant wait to see how this team reacts when they play a good Webb team.RWR

That's pretty bold Nole! My concern is that we've played three bad teams in a row and I wonder how we'll react to playing a good team. I'll take your score immediately, I just hope it's right. Their ball control worries me because I don't think our defense is good, we are only average. On the other hand, if they are real good up front on both sides of the ball, then we may have some problems. I'm excited about playing a real team for a change.Oak Ridge 38-14

OR your D is awful...lol we are comming for you!!!! Are Defense will slow you all down. CC has better coaches better defense and are offense will score period!!
I actually think our defense is bad. I can't recall giving up so many points and so many yards and missing so many tackles. That being said, you better worry about your team and your powder puff joke of a schedule. Beat us in week 10 then run your mouth. Until then, beat Farragut if you can, and then focus on your powder puff joke of a schedule that your "wonder boy" coaches put together!

This game concerns me for obvious reasons (we are 3-0 and #2 and they are 0-3). I fear that we will come out flat and I feel that the crowd will be even more lifeless than our team. If we get off to a slow start, this could a much closer game than anyone would expect. If we start strong, then we will be more comfortable with the outcome. I don't think AC is a bad team at all. I doubt their QB is the "best we've seen" but I know last year at AC their fans were really high on him and I think he was a sophomore then. ROLL WILDCATS ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm worried about the line
I'm with you and I'm talking about both lines

Thanks PA. The Guts always give us a great game and tonight was no different. All things go out the window when these two hookup. Found a way to win, so I'm glad. Like UT last night, a win is a win. It's good to get battle tested early in the year. Be better for it in the long run. #LOP
We were nothing like UT last night. This game is more UT vs Florida in recent years with Farragut being Florida. I'm happy with the win but I thought after we went up 10-0 that Farragut took over the game in the second quarter. They're good but for us to come out down in the third quarter 16-10 and kicking off, then totally taking over the game is good, real good. I find nothing about our win anything like the emotionless and pathetic effort from UT last night against Appalachain State!

Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but it bothers me that the OR band wears bright blue shirts. Can someone explain why?
You're not the only person who comments on that. I heard more people around me last week and at Clinton comment on that but still some did tonight. How hard would it be to get a cardinal or gray shirt?
-
It's called owning the line of scrimmage.
That's why I made the linemen comment I did. We have "talent" but we need more linemen.
-
Gaddis is a GREAT football coach! With all that talent in OR I am shocked they haven't won more State Titles. I am sure that this is the year though!
Btw, when is that bronze statue going up of CJG at The Ship!
Don't expect any state more titles until they get some linemen moving in. Two extremely talented athletes might make you real good but not state title material. OR is never short on "talent" but I see very few top notch linemen out there. I'm talking about top to bottom freshmen team to varsity. There are some good ones but nothing like the number of linemen they have at Maryville, Alcoa, D-B, Farragut, Ooltewah, Cleveland, etc. I worry about the Farragut linemen "schooling" our linemen tonight. They have in recent years for sure and until that changes, I predict no state titles for OR.

Just in passing the other night at the game, RR91. What's up?
Nothing much but I'm excited about our team and the game with Farragut.
-
No....Vul. Please.... No.
Hey SS, I know that you know Coach Gaddis pretty well. Have you talked to him lately?
-
Why isn't the play back of the game on TV???????
-
Clinton would make a anyone look good..lol Their line play is bad.The QB threw it to OR players and you let a average if that 10th grader get 2 sacks...lol and they moved the ball on you all some. This game will tell a lot where OR is and how good the QB is.A running QB like DB has will hurt OR and that will open up the receivers. DB 28 OR 17
I agree about the Kingsport QB. I think he will hurt our defense and the Kingsport defense will cause us problems. I think Kingsport is the favorite in this game for sure
-
Put Tee on Clinton team last year with Thackerson. They go undefeated.
I agree. Gaddis could learn a lot from Kerr! Lol and smh
-
yes but when you have talent like that and hardly get him the ball...Head scratcher...
I'm confused I guess. He got the ball enough last year to win Mr Football. Are you talking about last week? Why throw it to him a bunch against a bad team?
-
You realize Tee was injured in the 2nd quarter of that game?
Yes I do. He was bashing our coach and saying that Tee would only get a couple of touches in our last game like last year, or maybe I misunderstood. An "old school" coach would be Rankin and I doubt anyone minds. He barely throws the ball and I'm sure Alcoa has great receivers. I hope Tee gets plenty of balls his way Friday but I was fine with just two last week!
-
Tee barely played last year in the game that sent them home. Talk to Rankin about "old school" and throwing. He averaged about 3 passes a game. According to that philosophy, we don't run enough! SMHHonestly OR coaching is bad. If they just threw deep sideline balls to T from Trips and T back side 15 times per game I bet they would connect on about 40+ points per game. Seriously from the gun catch and throw my version of the OR cats would beat everbody w/o anything but a center qb and T. Leaving another 65 plays or so for the rest of the cats. Thank god they got that old school coach who has to run to win haha. OR should have been in cookeville last year and should be this year but I bet they fall short and T has about 2 touches in the game that sends them home. SMH!
-
True! Even if he wasn't I really can't blame them. They were just trying to make it look a little bit more respectable I guess. Good luck to yall as well!
My problem with them playing 2,4,5 is that they were down by 42 in the 4th quarter and if they get one of those guys hurt then they probably don't win a game all year. It made no sense to me but I'm not a coach. Maybe it was smart and I don't know what I'm talking about.
-
Stewart made me feel better about the QB position. I'm glad we got our best players out in the second half and why did Clinton play 2,4, and 5 the whole game? Tee and Graham are studs and Jackson can go.
-
I actually think we will be better at QB and the OL but it may take a while. We are loaded at RB and WR though. Missing that scrimmage hurt but it made sense not to play. Did we have a second scrimmage I don't know about? The kicking game worries me. Let's beat Clinton!!!!Did Clinton play last night? If so how did they look?.As a Wildcat fan Im a little worried about the season and the Clinton game.Oak Ridge only had 1 scrimmage that I know of this fall camp.Compared to last year we look worse at QB,DL, Oline(Which says a lot)and kicking game will be the worst Oak Ridge has had since I can remember.Last year the Cats didnt start playing good until about week 5.I think we could see the same this year.I just hope Tee gets double or more the targets as last year or I dont see more than 1st or 2nd rd of playoffs type of run.Oak Ridge 20 Clinton 14 Go Cats

Lol...I'm sure you're the expert to make such an evaluation! Hahahaha. By the way, you're calling the wrong guy Romeo...wrong coach wrong sport. Keep up with the times man! Where you at???Romeo gaddis and LL jr are fair coaches in todays game.Romeo was good in the 80s with all those good players. So was LL sr.
-
You make me laugh...WowIt is a battle of fair coaches.O.r. has more players but still a shell of former o.r. teams.
