  1. http://tbca.org/index.php?page=hsmembership Here is a link to the TBCA (Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association) and as you can see for a school-wide membership we are $60 a year cheaper because we are still trying to build a class organization to benefit the young ladies and coaches who play and coach the game in Tennessee. And at the end of the year after the Kentucky/Tennessee All Star game the TSCA will again be back at less than $100 in the banking account and this is to keep web site going, all other proceeds go back to the girls in scholarships and awards, so if it's a scam to give softball girls a little recognition I guess we missed something.
  2. All of the players are nominated by their coaches and they are to only turn in senior athletes from their team. There is always a possibility that a high school coach may have nominated someone that does not meet that standard if so we would like to know about it. That being said, if we make an error and have someone on our list who is not a senior please contact one of our Executive Directors at phillip.Burkhart@cmcss.net or cobracoach@yahoo.com. We have been informed that one of our players is in fact not a senior and we are working to try to fix that problem.
  3. We have gotten our last commitment from Coach Johnnie Sanfratello from Tipton-Rosmark as our other coach for the KY/TN All Stars. All of these coaches are State Champions in their division and we are excited that they will be able to coach these young ladies!
  4. There are not really any inconsistencies when you know the make up of each of the different teams. All State players can be from any grade level and are chosen by classification, A, AA, AAA, and DII from all across the state. Many of the girls who make all state may not be seniors. The All Star Teams are chosen from only the senior class since the All Star Games are only allowed to be played in Tennessee according to the TSSAA after they have graduated high school. Also when choosing the All Star Teams you have to select players by their positions. You can not have a team of 12 pitchers, etc. These young ladies are nominated by their coaches and voted on by coaches. The players chosen have to be able to attend and play in the All Star games both the Regional and the Kentucky/Tennessee games. Some players may be out of town, injured or chose not to play for various reasons. The TSCA strives to chose the Best of the Best. If anyone has ever been to one of the Regional or Ky/Tn All Star games you would see that these young ladies represent Tennessee very well. Please keep in mind that there is no perfect way to pick or chose a limited number of players when you have the whole state to chose from. The TSCA tries to do things to benefit the players with All Star Games, Scholarships, All Academic awards, All State awards, etc. The ladies chosen for each of these awards will benefit from the recognition and being honored.
  5. The Tennessee Softball Coaches Association has announced it's Regional All Star Teams and Coaches today. These All Star Players will play in the Regional All Star Games with West Tennessee All Stars, Middle Tennessee All Stars and East Tennessee All Stars playing a 3 game series on June 16th at Lipscomb University. From these 3 teams, one team of 15 players will be selected to play in the annual Kentucky/Tennessee All Star Game which will be played this year at Western Kentucky State University at the end of June. Go to the website link below to view this year's All Star Teams. http://www.tnsca.com/2014-Regional-All-Stars.html

  10. The Tennessee Softball Coaches Association is set to announce this year's All State and All Star Teams in the next couple of days. The TSCA has well over 125 member schools and universities this year in it's Statewide organization and the players that will be released are from teams whose coaches are members of the TSCA. Every Coach in the state is free to join the organization and the cost is very minimal for the whole coaching staff for the school, less than paying one umpire for one game. The coaches from these schools nominated their young ladies back before the district tournaments started and the stats used to elect these ladies were given to committees of coaches before the Region and State tournaments took place. We always hold off and announce these awards after the State Tournament because of the publicity and not wanting hard feeling or negativity to come up during the tournament. We have groups of coaches in each division and each classification choose these young ladies from the stats prepared by their coaches and sent in to the TSCA website. We appreciate that each school and community is rooting for the young ladies from their area to be chosen, but only a certain number can make these teams. All Stars have to be Seniors and are chosen by their position and area of the state and All State can be from any grade and are chosen by their Classification A. AA. AAA and DII.. We as directors of the TSCA would like the public to know this is not an easy task and some of the players you feel are deserving (and very well may be), may not make the teams because of the great number of athletes nominated each year. This year we had over 150 athletes nominated in each group and our committees have tried to chose the best of the best. That being said we would hope that all of the fans who love this sport will try and be positive for the sake of the young ladies who make these teams and not belittle the young ladies who have achieved these awards. Thank you, Tennessee Softball Coaches Association Directors

  13. When I first started coaching 30 years ago. The regular season winner got an automatic berth to region, but went as runner up if they didn't win the tournament. If regular season winner won tournament also, tournament runner up went as 2nd seed. But that changed years ago in most districts. But I think the TSSAA doesn't care how you get your 2 teams to play in region, just as long as you have 2 there. I remember one year we got so much rain during tournament week we had to send regular season champs and runner up because we couldn't finish tournament. I think teams can vote to change their by laws if they wanted to go back to automatic berth. What district 10AAA does is let the regular season champion host the district tournament which we changed a few years ago, used to go to different site each year.
