  1. Outside of a Memphis team probably not. Ridgeway is a different team than southwind. Less, talented probably smaller but more tough and disciplined. They rarely beat themselves. They went 2-1 against southwind this year.
  2. No problem I only pick DC due to Hubbs, no disrespect DC fans I haven't seen a 5 star, but I'll take the analysts' and scouts' opinions though. Bottle up Hubbs then I think BW or OR could easily win.
  3. Brentwood probably gave us the "Best Game" due to them slowing down the pace most effectively. I only had stats for the first two games and no film so it would be hard to say who is the better team out of the 3. OR kept it close with 3s, Brentwood with pace, this just wasn't a matchup DC wanted. Plus Southwind held BW and DC's best players to 6 ppg. I would take OR over Brentwood, DC over OR barely, DC over Brentwood also a close game.
  4. FWIW the regular season games were pretty close with Swind and Ridgeway splitting, RW handled district none the less! Memphis with 7 gold balls in a row.
  5. Ready for the game today! For DC to win they'll have to be physical with Southwind and slow the game down some. Just too much balanced scoring from the Jags and if need be J3 and Jajuan can have their own big games. It will be interesting to see who guards Hubbs & Vice Versa. I know Brentwood's kid isn't in league of Hubbs, but he's still D1 and was held to 3 points. Game will be fun, hopefully high scoring, but Southwind's defense has been amazing. 73 - Southwind 64 - Dyer County Hubbs finishes with 20, but needs 20 shots or a decent amount of FTs to get there. J3 for State MVP if they give those out?
  6. Southwind has only lost one key player, Blake Johnson (MTSU), the rest were rotation players. I think this team is a little better due to the improvement of Jajuan, J3, and sliding Peyton to the point. I think DC isn't as good as last year but not by much. I think DC'a style Of play favors southwind. Southwind finally plays the type of game they want and win by 7-10 points.
  7. Seems like you're putting alot on Brentwood, I wish I could've actually seen the game to comment further but shooting 50 percent from the 3 point line for a majority of the game helped OR mightily. If Johnson plays better then I think Southwind rolls comfortably. Eh... similiar to OR game, I'll increase the spread a little bit. Swind - 75 Brentwood - 51 Any details on what Brentwood likes to do for tempo etc? If they're a team that wants to muck it up and look for the best shot it'll drastically change my prediction/thoughts.
  8. Hmm can't say I'm surprised as I didn't know much about either team. Will be tough challenge for Brentwood to contain Southwind's Big Three. I know alot of teams have depth, but Southwind has D1 Depth. Deckie Johnson carried the Jags while Jajuan struggled. If Brentwood hits alot of threes they could stay in the game similiar to OR, but they gotta maintain that hot hand through out the game. I expect J3 to see alot of traps and doubles in the paint, Jajuan and Husley with big games from the perimeter. Watch for Mieron Hardy this game. Go Jags.
  9. Maryville was the last, but good morning all. Ready for some good bball, I think OR comes out inspired but Southwind pulls away after the half. I'm slightly nervous as an alum playing against the team "with nothing to lose". Southwind 74 Oak Ridge 52
  10. Unfortunate situation at Ridgeway, kid wasn't even a starter, but back on Subject. DC will be the only team we "claim" since they are West TN, but Blackman seems to be that one team East and Middle TN always put their hopes ala Bearden a few years ago. Best of Luck to OR.
  11. Sad. Once again, Southwind smoked Germantown about 3 or 4 times this season alone. All teams that beat them were nationally ranked. That Melrose team OR lost too? S'wind smoked by 30. Using CoachT for Strength of Schedule is lazy, I don't even believe they account for Out of State teams in determining strength. Also weakest district in the state? You must have 15-AAA confused with 14-AAA or some of the crappy districts out there. Ridgeway is/was nationally ranked, Houston beat Dyer County earlier in the season, Germantown beat White Station etc. Smh. Those trips you went to are nice, but the City of Palms classic, Rumble on the Ridge, Penny Hardeway Classic all trump those! No doubt OR will hopefully be ready, but lets stop with the poor attempts to say OR had a tougher or as tough schedule as Southwind. As for the person who said they believe OR guards will play better, have you actually seen Southwind play?! Jajuan Johnson (Marquette) and Peyton Husley (Lipscomb) are elite high school level guards. Its unlikely they are both off. Who knows. I wouldn't mind a close game, but hopefully Southwind gets a double digit win.
  12. You gotta be kidding me? Have they played a player like Jabari Parker? A team as athletic as LB Poly? Or as a discliplined as Lone Peak? I doubt it, but if you can list the 3 best teams they've played I would get a better summary. Losing to a Melrose team that couldn't score on Southwind is troubling though. IF Oak Ridge wins, it will definitely be in a buzzer beater fashion. Also, assuming every team coming out of Memphis with a black head coach will lose the coaching battle is dumb. Give me Henning, Edwards, and Coach JJ over anyone in Triple A anyday.
  13. Ironic, Southwind is also senior laden. I think they're top 8 players are Seniors. They have a alot of star power with Jajuan Johnson(Marquette), Jonathon Williams (Mizzou), and 6'5 Peyton Husley at PG (Lipscomb). A very deep team that loves to force the tempo, but can execute in the half court due to matchup problems the three players above can force with their size and length. Best way to beat this team is to muck the game up physically and try to limit Williams' effectiveness on the inside. Ridgeway does it well. Their losses this year were all to nationally ranked teams, Lone Peak(Utah), LB Poly (Cali), Simeon (Chicago), and Ridgeway (x2).
  14. Any particular reason why you guys rank Blackmon higher than DC?
  15. Consensus on the board appears to be that Southwind, Dyer County, and Blackman are the odds on favorites for the AAA crown. Anyone care to give strengths, weaknesses, and player info? I got Southwind covered of course . Really interested to hear about Blackman though.
