  1. Of course they win on a squeeze. Did you see where the Gibbs first baseman was playing the whole tourney atleast 5 feet behind the bag. Not a normal approach for a first baseman in softball. That's exactly how GP got it done also. Gibbs is a great program not sure if that is how the coach tells her to play first or if she does it on her own, but she will never cover a bunt down first from there on good teams.
  2. I agree it's going to be a great tournament but if 12 strikeouts by Cartwright is a off day we will take that every time, not to mention not giving up a hit to a girl who had 20 HRs and over 50 RBIs this season for Lexington. I seen more dominant performances by Cartwright but she got the job done late in the game and carried this team.
  3. In the famous words of Ron Burgandy Agree to Disagree. Just remember hard work always beats talent when talent refuses to work hard. Good luck to all the student athletes at either school.
  4. I don't think we need a transfer I believe we can get it done with girls we have now. As for Camden great program and looks like y'all are playing great right now. If these two teams meet before state it will be a great game for sure. Hopefully it will be in the state tourney for both Good luck to you.
  5. I think your on the wrong message board this is spring sports softball, not fall sports football. Anyhow I get it you think we cheat and we need to join the cheaters league, but then when public schools started winning championships again at sports like with Trousdale Co football they all wanna play again. This issue is always going to be disagreed on. You think coach Satterfield would not want to know who is the best football team in the state regardless of private or public, because with the segregation of public and private you would never know who was really the best 1A team. I just don't understand your logic we will play you in football but nothing else why is that?? If you have good explanation to why it's ok for football but nothing else I will shut up and say sorry your right, but if its just about not being as good well that's life. If you were AD would you really on play a school at one sport because that's the only thing your school is great at??
  6. Well I can't leave it at that, because if that's the case there is about 14 other parents who would like in on this free tuition, and if its out there and free how come we don't field this dominant team that everyone speaks of??? I agree we are prob way better than Trousdale Co at softball but don't think we can't be beat just ask Sycamore High school. I always hear of this phantom player who gets free tuition but nobody ever comes up with a name and I ask parents and admins about its availability and its definitely not there in softball and if it is come out with it please so I can make it across the board for every player because that would be a easy law suit to win!!!
  7. Okay I tried to be logical with you but you are out of touch with reality and yes it's about 16,000.00 a year for my two kids and on a public service salary I manage to get it done. So don't act like it takes someone rich to do it. It's called sacrifice and giving up alot so they can have opportunities I didn't. Academic wise my daughter who is a junior when she graduates will actually be in her sophomore year in college due to the dual enrollment classes she can graduate and have her freshman classes finished. Not to mention the teacher to student ratio in each class, and as far as the athletics my daughter earned her athletic scholar ship playing travel in the summer. I do admit its nice playing for such a great coach at GP and a team with such tradition. I guess to each their own but for me and my family we choose GP for the total package. If this is what it is like before we even play then I thank Satterfield for his decision because I would hate to see how you act at a real game. Maybe your other sports should join a local rec league so you are happy!!!
  8. I just wish you could of came to our first practices at the beginning of last year and this year and you would of said no way this team wins the district much less gets to state. I love each and every girl on this team but we drop way off after our first 5 just like other teams but because those young girls who actually I promise couldnt catch a routine fly ball or hit a cut off played good competition they get better and it helps later in the season. I also coach travel ball for a very well known team here in TN. So I get the differce between the schools but play the teams in your district regardless who knows David may slay that Giant and what a feeling that would be!!
  9. Do you field a softball team and have a softball coach??? If so play better competition it will make you better. East Robertson also had two other high schools in the county they have to lose student athletes too. Oh and the answer to your question why I don't reevaluate this school because I chose Goodpasture for the academics and the fact I want my kids to be able to pray in school without being disciplined. Its been a great school for my children. Anyhow good luck to Trousdale Co whatever y'all decide
  10. This was an admin decision not a softball thing. If you look at our schedule we play more AAA schools than AA and I am sure next year we will do the same. I didn't start this post and don't agree with the title of it, but since we are put in this district we have to play y'all, and if he don't wanna play us well he can't hide in the district tourney because you have to play us so good luck!!
  11. Not disputing that its a small school but why not play better competition?? East Robertson is a very small 1A school but they will play anyone and it makes them better. Just don't understand the play you in this sport but no others??? Can you explain this??
  12. If you only knew the sacrifices that I make and half the parents on that softball team make to put our children in this school you wouldn't make that statement. Softball is a blue collar sport and there is alot we have to give up so they can go to school here. I thought this post was about not wanting to play us because we recruit and it's not fair. Now it's we our rich and and have all the money to give them such quality lessons. Hitting lessons 25 for half hour it's pretty much the same in rich ole Nashville as the sticks. I could care less if we played the richest school or the poorest. We just wanna play good competition every year to get better win or lose. I just don't understand why you wouldn't wanna play better competition?? I mean I am a rich Cheatham co graduate and when I played football I loved when we got to play Brentwood academy and Goodpasture, oh and by the way we beat Goodpasture and it was awesome for a public school team to beat a power house but we would never back down because of better competition. I guess it's not about the underdog any more, but on any given day any team can be beat!!
  13. Hand picked? Our softball team had 12 players last year two of which that started never really played softball at all. This year we have a whopping 15 players from that 100,000 to 150,000 you speak of and 5 are 8th graders with three 8th graders starting. I think you should know your facts before you speak. These girls work hard and get better because they are well coached I assume just like your football team does right??? So is finger to the TSSAA just shows he don't wanna compete against good teams lets try to win against teams who are not very good. I hope we don't have to play you so we can actually play AAA teams like Beech and Riverdale so we can get better and add another banner up there on our fence that says Class A state champs! See we welcome the better competition because we wanna get better regardless if we get beat we still get better. So Slimshady stick with the thug rap music and we will try to stick to winning state championships!
  14. Jennings is a very talented pitcher and definately should be mentioned for a best pitcher in the State for highschool softball. She plays some of the best competition around every year in the summer, and I agree the girl from Coffee Co should also be mentioned as a top pitcher in the State of Tn but both my daughters played against her and she is not at 67mph especially with a batter in the box. I venture to say she even hits 60 but I know its up in the high 50's. Some people exaggerate a little much If she was throwing that hard 90% of batters wouldn't touch her and she would prob be a blue chip 5 star recruit, that being said she is talented and will play at the next level.
  15. His gun is broke because unless she picked up prob 7 to 10 mph since the start of the season she aint at 67mph. But she is a very good pitcher and should be mentioned as one of the best in the state of Tn at the highschool level.
  16. Very well said I have two daughters and both play softball for Highschool and both play travel. I also coach travel as well and I always encourage my girls to play school ball and play as much as their hearts desire. There are alot of politics in sports but if the coach has a good program the best players will fill those roles. Highscool sports are memories for a life time and they should be cherished. Just remember without the grades travel ball is just a hobby!!
  17. Congrats to Goodpasture Softball on winning the District 9AA regular season. District Tourney starts Thursday at 5 vs winner of Macon and Whitehouse. Good luck Cougars!!
  18. Thank God if this is true, because I really wouldn't want to drive all the way to Trousdale county for them not to give us a game. But I am pretty sure that they would still have to compete in the district tourney. But if he really dont want to play better competition his program will never get better.
  19. Well I personally think Carianna Hassel can get the job done if noone else comes along, but the rumors are out there that several are showing interest into transfering to Goodpasture Christian school!!!
  20. Last night was Goodpasture pitcher MiMi Cartwrights last home game and she went out on top! She only gave up two hits and struck out 10 against Independence High, and was 3 for 3 at the plate. I just want to take a second as a father of two young ladies on that team and thank Mimi Cartwright for the leadership she has shown over the last 5 years. Her and her family contributed so much to the Lady Cougar softball program over the years, and they will be greatly missed. Mimi is a leader and what any coach would love to have on their team. She has a great attitude and love for the game of softball, and I know she will continue to shine at Lipscomb University. Mimi Cartwright thank you for a wonderful year and Go Cougars!!
  21. Goodpasture did go down to a much improved Sycamore team. Goodpasture had their chances and did not capitalize. Now the question is how this Goodpasture team responds. Sycamore played better all around and you have to give credit where credit is due. Hayley Newman pitched a great game and Charley Barnett SS and Kara Hackett 2nd played very well and made huge plays to stop runs from scoring. I know this district is going to come down to who really wants it and I know after that loss to Sycamore, Goodpasture is chomping at the bit to get back to district play. I agree with the AAguru on this whoever wins this district may very well be the next AA state champ!!
  22. If the sectional for region 6w and 5rup is Camden Central and Greenbrier that is going to be a very good game.
  23. Congrats to my daughter for making the all academic team Kaylin Littlejohn Goodpasture Christian. This says alot about your work ethic and I am very proud!!
