the new ap polls need to be re done for this week. manassas has a loss to mase on their schedule. they did not lose to mase. They beat them by almost 60 pts! the shouldn't have fell to 5th!

hahaha...well for what its worth heres my take on the situation

 

#1 Lake Co. 6-0 this team seems to be dominating so far im interested to see how they do when district play really kicks up

 

#2 Union City 5-0 beat humboldt already in a big matchup and they havent had much trouble putting away the rest of the teams on their schedule

 

#3 Nashville Christian 8-0 dont know a whole lot about this team but at 8-0 its hard not to have them on this list

 

#4 CSAS 7-1 only loss is to tift county and they have been dominating most every other team they play...these guys look good and have the potential to go deep this year

 

#5 Manassas 9-1 these guys have played a very tough schedule so far and only lost one game by 8 points...as with lake co. im curious to see how long they can keep winning

 

#6 Culleoka 5-2 two tough losses to ravenwood and mba games that should have been won have set this team back...their shooting needs to improve before district games start on friday...however you cant count out demario and the talent that this team has

 

#7 Moore Co. 3-2 if your not from middle tn. chances are you havent heard of this team...that will change this year...tyler jean the point guard is a scoring machine...they are athletic and play well as a team...this team is almost a lock to go to state and you should keep your eye on these guys

 

#8 Humboldt 3-1 only loss is to union city...would love to rate these guys higher but they havent played alot of games and i dont know enough about them this year

 

#9 East Robertson 3-1 only loss this team has suffered came at the hands of station camp...these guys have got or been close to state the last few years and so far they look tough again this year

 

and last but not least....

 

#10 Richland 4-0 they have yet to be truly tested but this group is always looking for respect...they matchup with moore co. tonight and if they can upset moore co. that would be a big stepping stone for this team

Boy i will tell u this there is sum real talent in single A BUT the best team is manassas...these kids are very athletic and they play well together. Coach Harris has these guys playing the best i have seen them since Eric West was there (mcnessee st). They are talented and then they have three guys from westside that played on that team that made it to state last year....they are exciting to watch....its alot of talk about their guard play from derrick richards they say this kid is a high mid major prospect...and i will tell u this he can play. these kids are for real and so is coach harris. They already have a win over a team that is pick to head to the boro in AAA mitchell. They out played mitchell annd made them look like they were overrated....I have already made my decision manassas to win it all....go check em out tell me what u think!!!!

sergio is a heck of a player acutally. he looks like he will play at a mid major.he is being looked at by ole miss, vanderbilt, ut chatt, martin and austin peay.

Union City loses to 2 region teams [ Humboldt & Gleason ] hurt and Middle despite a tough out of district schdule is 17-10 with district losses to Middleton & Manassas.

As far as seeing them in the 'boro... YOU MUST BE DREAMING!

No one has 2 give middle college anything because they earn it. They have not lost but 2 games since their christmas break. They bet Middleton by 20, Wayne County by 20. They still haven't got any credit in the ap top 10. We don't want it. They are a team that no one wants to play. Middeton only bet them albeit because of bad officating and Middleton gave up a twelve point lead with 2:32 left to play. So don't say who u won't see. Just wait and see. #1 under rated team in 1a.

I believe that Daren Currie is not get the reespect he should get. I watch this kid play for the longest. Daren is 6'7 wing man that can play any position on the floor. This man reads the floor perfectly for a big fellow. He can shoot the mid-range, dunk, dribble, and now he expand his game beyond the 3-point line. If you don't believe me, come see them play Tuesday at Middleton. To go to the district championship.

ha ha my butt you come and see them play and tell me whose going to stop them. their aggressive, can shoot and very athletic. they have two star players and everyone else feeds from them.

These guys deserve to be number 1 in the state. Everybody talks trash but I tell you this nobody is going to stop these guys come tourney time. They already knocked off 2 top ramked schools by 20.( wayne county and middleton). What does that tell you. Nobody wants to play these guys trust me.

If you have not seen Middle College You may need to wait before you pick anybody else to win state. These kids are talented. They started off the year slow but they have picked it up. Word is they dominated wayne county in That First South Bank Holiday Tournament in Jackson. The guy Lucchesi is averaging aroung 20 to 22 points a game. Wait till you see the high flier Currie. He is a long 6'7 and they have a strong supporting cast. Very Strong. Middleton and Grace look out their best is yet to come.They will be dangerous come tournament time.

Middleton is a good basketball team believe you me but wait until you guys see this Middle College team they are loaded and when tourney time comes no one will want to play these guys . They are bound for Murfeesboro.

Middle College is good and full of talent. They ran into troubles at the beginning of the season, but looking at their schedules they may not lose another game. Word on Memphishoopers.com is thay have sharpshooting guard from AA Hillcrest Chris Powell.

Hey #55 and #50. Ya'll both played some good D up here. I'm glad I came out and met you two after the game. Manassas doesn't have a lot of playoff experience and that might be the main difference. When a team gets jumped on early and often like ya'll did it's easy for a lot of the team to lay down on you early.

 

I didn't see ya'll quit completely. I saw a lot of heart on the field last Friday night from ya'll. Ya'll played as hard as you could for 48 minutes. I have to agree that all your teammates may not have left it all on the field up here. That happens. A lesson learned for next season for them.

 

Yeah, I know how it feels to play your last game myself no matter what level it's at. I have looked back far too many times. I had a chance in college but wasn't happy with the situation so I came home. Both of you are better men for your time on the field in the pads and the people you have met along the way. Ya'll might even get a shot at the next level. Try it if it comes.

 

My girlfriend lives in Memphis and I'm down there fairly often. Maybe we'll run into each other again sometime and I'll still smile and shake ya'lls hand. The two of you made an impression on this 'ol Rebel last Friday night. How is the kid who hurt his knee doing??

2- Union City

4- Humboldt

Most think UC is going to dominate this district (and region), but I do believe LC has the upper hand. You're right jvaughan, Halls (i.e. Tates) could very well sneak in there & bump Humboldt out of the top 4. With Humboldt losing Shivers, Dotson, & Everett, it's going to be difficult to beat the top 4 though I'm sure Smith will pull through & step it up for them.

 

District 15

1- JCS

2- Adamsville

 

District 16

1- Middleton

2- Middle College

I wish I could put MC on top, but Middleton will be #1 until someone knocks them down, which MC is extremely capable of doing! If I'm not mistaken, they're returning Luchessi, Currie, & Todd, & they'll be ready for a postseason run. Either way, it's going to be an exciting season!

Middle college is not returning todd but lucchesi and currie are returning with an experienced group of others. Keep your eye on these guys. Definitly a state championship contender.

Have ya'll played Huntingdon, Union City, Lake Co. (and another team or two we have.)?? Nope. Those are some serious physical teams. We've even been known to be a bit physical ourselves. That's a useless point to talk about anyway. Both teams will come to play and it won't be powder puff ball on either side.

 

You're right, we've had 40+ hung on us 6 times. And we did lose 2 (TWO) of those games in the middle of the season to Huntingdon and Union City. BUT, we won 4 of those games!!!!!! Guess that's because we scored more points than those other 4 teams---------HUH!? The last 4 games, we have changed our offensive approach and it's gettin' wild now. There is no way for ya'll to prepare for our offense simply because ya'll don't have a Drew Hayes throwing and our receivers catching in ya'll practices. It seems like we have faced speed backs every week of the season so far so that is no surprise.

 

We haven't claimed to have the best D in the world but, they have been just good enough when they had to be to get us to 7-3 overall.

 

Just for the record, I'm not a player, I'm a fan. I've done my playing for the Rebels. So has my son. So I'll be in the stands watching Friday nite. Wear whatever # you like but, I apppreciate the thought of your wearing #55 just for me. I'll be watching. Win or lose, if you do a good job in the game and I see you, I'll be the first to shake your hand and tell you you played a good game.

 

We expect it to be a good game. Good luck to both teams and I hope both teams come out of it healthy.

Well said fan360. This is not a "looking ahead" time of the season now!!!! EVERY game is a championship game!! To be champions of Round 1 we have to take Manassas and that won't be easy by any means. To be third in their region is no insult at all!!

 

Most people don't understand the rivalry that Gleason feels toward McKenzie. If they did, they would understand the 42 points they hung on us. It didn't surprise me one bit! When they learn to play like that every week, they will have finally reached their mark. Don't let things like that fool you. Gleason has talent, they just haven't gotten it out of the kids every week yet.

 

Our defense does need to get back on the track of getting better like they were untill last Friday night. Kegan Ball had a career night last Friday and a couple of others kicked in a good performance BUT,......................!

 

We have faced speed teams all season so what is one more?? Almost everybody has been faster than us. But, the O line is doing a very good job of protecting Hayes now. When he has 7-8 seconds to find a receiver he'll kill most teams and that's the kind of time he's been gettin' for about 3 weeks now.

 

I'm not minimizing the team from Manassas. Just telling the Rebel side of the story. I expect another scoreboard nightmare this week!!!!!! Manassas better come prepared to score 50 or more or stay home!!!

This is Roderick Hand #71 or 55 it depends on if i feel like playin like Seau and Steven Johnson #50. McKenzie haven't seen a defense like ours we play hard and hit hard every time the ball moves. This is a warning. Strap it up. This want be just a walk in the park. We probably haven't seen a QB that put up numbers like yours but you haven't seen a LB put up numbers like me and 50. We coming to win and send somebody to the house. Don't count us out all you doing is making it bad on yourself. The refs can throw how many flags they want but when you feel us you want forget us. We have a chance to make history and is going to take advantage of it. This is my last year and I am going out with a bang and somebody banged up.

Mckenzie's qb better have some blocking cause these guys got speed all over the field and that #7 that's going to ole miss can go. On defense they better look out for there top three tacklers #50, #71, #60. They will punish you. That number 50 is going to cause problems all nite long. I promise you. Manassas is going to be ready believe me.

Unless TC allows themsevles to get beat, that is the only way they will be, they will be in the finals. Now, I don't know for sure who they will play...but I know it won't be JB!! They may be 10-0 but JB won't be able to match MP, JCS, or Union City. One of those three will make the finals.

 

If you didn't go to the Manassas/Halls game last night you miss a show. The Manassas Tigers bet Halls 44-7 on Homecoming and looked impressive. Their defense held Halls to -47 yards rushing. They had pressure on the quarterback all night. Then you go to the offense led by led 7 vaughn who surpassed 1,000 rush yards for the season. They had tackles pulling all over the place . These Kids are pumped up Mckensie better look out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This district has two teams that are without a question state championship contenders. But i think Middle College is the best. This team is lead by 13 Daren Currie who won district mvp lat year and would have won region mvp if not for the loss to lake county. He has size and strength to help him out in Romeo Lucchesi, Jeremy Williams, and Steven Johnson. He also has pretty smart guards in Jamelle Owens and James Buntyn. You better be ready because the Coach of the year Coach Starks will have his troops ready to play. These kids are seniors and they have experience and are ready for the big games. Trust me he will have some surprise players. He always does.

I put Greenback because its pretty much set. Sunbright has to beat Coalfield to get into the playoffs with a Greenback loss to Oakdale. I seriously doubt either of those will happen.

Region 7 needs to look out for the Manassas Tigers. These kids are pumped up and ready to go. Thay probably will be on a 2 game win streak.

There is 3 or 4 players being highly recruited from Lake County.
