  1. Very true, I don't think anyone has a problem with that. Teams approach it in different ways. What gets fans ire up is if you/he,she knows one team was playing everyone and the other wasn't. And then have someone, in this case you, jump on here and act like all was equal and announce it so everyone else would think your team won in in way they did not, apparently...all the while knowing the team wasn't playing their key players the whole game. Seems a little lame... And no, I don't have a dog in this....just my take on it.

I respect your opinion. But the facts are that on another topic it was them that had said: "Wait until we play you Sat. and you will find out how good you are" Both teams played there players and the results are what they are. To get on here and first say we played our JV team and then Say we rotated our players is just whining. Its not worth it lets just move on to the season.
  2. I was there and saw Grace playing to win while the other teams were trying a bunch of different rotations. Both McMinn Central and Hardin Valley were treating the game as a scrimmage while Grace was not. I guarantee the results would have been different if they were playing to win as well.

Its not summer, you are preparing for the season. Farragut was playing to win too and they did. If you want to play to loose that's your decision.
  3. Was you there? Obviously you didnt watch the same game i did. Our Chargers played 15 kids and subed in every 2 min. Grace played 6 and fought tooth and nail to try to win. ITS A SCRIMMAGE GAME!!!! Looks like those other 5-6 girls on the bench for Grace that practice EVERYDAY would have liked to work on their game a little. GREAT WIN SMH!!!!!!!

I was there and Central fought to win as well. You are the one that said wait until 3:00 on Sat. not me. Such a bad loser
  4. You were playing our Central JV by the way. Congratulations though SMH!!!!!

That is simply not true. Our coach spoke with the Central Coach and also the other Coaches and said not only was all the girls there but even added a post that was hurt all last year. That is a total untruth. Shame on you
  5. I forgot about Grace's win over HVA last year. If they really will be better than last year, then I apologize for doubting them and maybe they deserve a spot in the top ten.

I don't believe Hardin Valley lost much from last year and I believe they could be one of the better teams in 4-AAA.

I have to disagree about Bearden, though. I am just not sold that they will be one of the top teams without Erin Walsh.

Another team to keep your eye on is Knoxville Catholic.

I believe Hardin Valley may have even added a girl inside that's pretty good. The Jury is still out on Bearden but I saw them play this summer and still looked pretty solid. They have some good young players coming in but Walsh is a huge loss. I agree that Catholic will surprise some people also. I believe our schedule will help us prepare for an opportunity to get to State this year in single A after coming up one game short the last 2 years. We play Bearden, Webb, CAK twice, Catholic twice and what I believe will be a much improved Oak Ridge team.

  6. Sorry, but Grace is not one of the top ten teams in the Knoxville area. And neither is Lenoir City.

IMO, a more accurate list would be:

    1. Farragut

    2. Fulton

    3. Gatlinburg-Pittman

    4. Heritage

    5. CAK

    6. Maryville

    7. Webb

    8. Hardin Valley

    9. Bearden

    ........

Again just my opinion. I do think Bearden will be better than you have them. I do believe Grace will be top 10. Grace beat Hardin Valley last year and Grace will be much better this year than last. But as I said time will tell.
  7. Its imperative you put Gatlinburg-Pittman on this list. Hands down a better team than Fulton the past two seasons. More than likely headed to state barring any suprises one of the best teams in the region all classifications.

You are correct They should be I just haven't seen them play and forgot about them. That's why I said I am no expert. Just trying to get conversation started.
  8. I am going to attempt a top 10 preseason list. Its early I know, time will tell and I am certainly no expert.

    1. Fulton

    2. Farragut

    3. CAK

    4. Bearden

    5. Webb

    6. Grace

    7. Heritage

    8. Maryville

    9. Hardin Valley

    10.Lenior City

Don't know a lot about some of the teams. What do you think ?

  9. Oneida is capable of matching OS guard play.  Newport averages around 6 assists a game and can score, while Morgan is a very athletic defender and runs the floor well.  When they are on, they can play with the twins.  At this point Williams is every bit as good as Jones.  These two are going to have several good games to watch.

    Kaz

I agree. Both teams have very good guard play. It will be a battle for 1st
  10. AGREED, its funny that the only ones that dispute that fact Scatback is people with children at PRIVATES.

Are you telling me you believe that only privates get transfers from other schools? I can tell you many different public schools that have won STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS because of transfers. Kids that pay a tuition to go to public schools out of their Zone. By the way We can discuss something without being hateful.

  11. Must have a kid a Grace. If you choose to be PRIVATE then PLAY private. A talent pool of 20 kids at a PRIVATE school is a WHOLE lot different than a talent pool at a public school. Maybe 3 kids can play, maybe 4. All 20 at a private can play. Why dont you send your kid where there suppose to go. Then maybe we wouldnt be having this conversation. Thats whats wrong with this whole picture. If you send your kid to a private for a better education is one thing but to use that as an excuse to play on a better team is another. Yea you know what im talking about. Go to the school your zoned for. Its a shame that a parent uses all its counties resources to groom their child ( gyms, fields, courts, etc. ) and when it comes time for the systems they grew up in to reap the rewards. The parent up and leaves that system high and dry (FOR A BETTER EDUCATION). We all know why. So if you choose to send your kid to a private school PLAY PRIVATE.

Way too many ignorant statements in this post to even respond to

  12. Its easy to brag about your program if you can recruit kids from all over. Play private like you should.

All the girls on this team with the exception of 2 have been at Grace since the 6th Grade. Those other 2 have been at grace since the 9th Grade. The girls program has not had a transfer in the last 4 years. So its getting old to use the same old excuse.

  13. You also left out the fact that Grace also lost 2 times to Meigs also. Once by 25 so atleast tell the whole story.

Chill man I was just trying to say that Grace is improved from last year and will be better this year. The point was for them to beat a great team like Meigs one time would have been great. Meigs beat Grace by 25 at Meigs and by 14 at Grace. Hows that? Grace did win the two that counted The Championships.
