Don’t forget that the McCallie Invitational wrestling Tournament MIWT is thIs weekend too.   Historically, year in year out the MIWT is the toughest Individual tournament in TN and this year it looks to be one of the toughest MIWT tournaments ever with as many nationally ranked wrestlers and D1 commits that have ever been at a tournament held in TN.

Just out of curiosity, who all is coming that is ranked nationally/committed to a D1 school?

  2. I have seen that the Rankings page has been taken over by all of the transfer talk. I think it is time to make a new thread to discuss all of the transfer rules and what needs to be changed in order to make transferring in the state of TN appropriate. What needs to be in place in order for a kid to transfer and still be eligible? Is it fair that a kid can transfer and have to sit out if he transfer for a sport? Shouldn't it be about academics first and then sports next. If he transfers and then gets hurt then he most likely will transfer again if he is only enrolled for the sports aspect. In this case, people will be transferring 3 or 4 times a year with no penalty.

Straight up, it's gonna be very hard for anyone to beat Baylor. When they have all the right lineup in, it's like a dream team here. Not sure how much or big if or when they beat CB, but they will win. Lineup will determine the out come

I do agree that this is one of the best teams or dream teams that Baylor has ever had, if not the best. Will be interesting to see what happens in February. You do make a great point Da Bears, the lineup will, in fact, determine the outcome. I never really thought about it like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when did we start comparing teams vs teams vs individual duals? Cleveland and Baylor was a straight up match. McCallie invitational was not. Cannot compare Baylor vs CB vs Cleveland  to an individual dual. Lets wait until they go head to head.

All I am saying is that Baylor does not run away with it in either duals or individuals with all of the kids that they have gone out and gotten this past year to strengthen their lineup. Not sure if Mr. Cleveland was talking about duals or individuals in his post, my apologies.

I don’t care who is ranked where in December, but one thing for sure is Baylor will win D2 and it won’t be close. Cleveland will win AAA and it won’t be close. Everyone is wrestling for 2nd.

Mr. Blue Raider, correct me if I am wrong but didn't the Blue Raider Nation lose to the Red Raiders (Baylor) by 1. Then the Blue Raiders were only able to beat the Blue Tornadoes by 5.5 in the Mccallie invitational this past weekend. If so, not sure how Baylor runs away with it. Cleveland is strong this year, while the rest of AAA is down, so I do not see someone beating them. However, I would not be surprised if someone does give them a good run for their money in February.

  6. So glad to see Bowers wrestling for the Bros. He will definitely be a great addition to a CBHS state championship team this year. I am very happy (assuming) Bower's could get the approval of TSSAA and check these rules off: In order for a transfer student with an athletic record to be eligible at another school there must be a bona fide change of residence by the athlete’s parents; All transfer students must be approved by the Executive Director of TSSAA before participating in any game or contest. Love seeing kids like this pursuing what they love, even at the extent of changing schools, so they can become a top wrestler in the country.

    Round 2:

    Bradley Central over Heritage

    Cleveland over Summit

    Arlington over Wilson Central

    Round 3:

  8. I see that Ethan Dendy (Mccallie) and Eli King (Father Ryan) both weighed in at 152lbs. Correct me if I am wrong. I saw that King stepped out onto the mat first at 152, while Mccallie sat back and sent no one out there. At 160lbs I saw Dendy walk out there and get the fall. IMPRESSIVE victory for Dendy as he was giving up 8lbs!

  9. We all thought Elijah Oliver was the next Jordan Lean/ Philip Simpson, but we've seen how it has turned out. Not taking anything way from Oliver, he is a great wrestler and is one of the best from Tennessee, but he has not received All American status yet. Oliver was much tougher than Whitworth from Mccallie is. To be a NCAA Division 1 champion/ All American is a completely different story than high school wrestling.

    THOUGHTS?????
  11. I'm all honestly, the father did tell me this. Rather he was lying to me or not, I couldn't tell ya. I could care less if he was lying or not. Nothing to me. All I'm saying and a few others that div 2 is only better cause they can recruit the best athletes. Of a kid gets a full ride or scholly than so be it. Who cares. We just don't like when div 2 parents/fans say that they're better than div 1 all together. With or without recruiting.

Far from jealousy also lol. Bradley, Cleveland and whoever else in public schools has the same education as privates and athletes. Nothing to be jealous about in privates at all.

Lol same education, that's a joke. Public does not compare to a private schools education. And please tell me why numerous of Cleveland wrestlers have been in GA the past years and somehow they're in TN this year? How did they hear about Cleveland?
  12. Great predictions.  Next time you go to Vegas, call me.  I like your pic's.  Not!!!!!!!!!!!

    Let's review your pics:

    Ryan wins 5 matches

    Cleveland wins 8 matches

    1 toss up

    Cleveland wins the match

    Reality:

    Ryan wins 12 matches

    Cleveland wins 2 matches

    Ryan crushes Cleveland

Ryan goes back to the hotel to prepare for the Cleveland Duals the next day in which they will wrestle 2 teams ranked ahead of them after beating a team ranked ahead of them this night.

I would have loved to have seen those predictions prior to the match.  They probably would have matched the prior predictions which were far from reality.  I would love to read your analysis on each weight class prediction and why the choice.  Just a question.

Viewing the match on the internet, it looked like Cleveland was very young and Ryan looked like they had experienced wrestlers.  This is always a great match; however, Cleveland lost too much last year.  Cleveland will be very  tough in the coming years and I wish them the best.   Looked like a great environment as it always is at Cleveland.

I know both teams were missing key members of their team, Cleveland was missing Triston Blansit.  Any news on him?  I hope he is able to come back.  He is really good.

Best of luck on your next predictions.  You might want to look outside the box.  Ouch!

With Cleveland's #1 ranked wrestler, Tristan Blansit, out for this match changed the whole outcome. Tristan being in the lineup, this match would have been much closer and Cleveland could have pulled it out. While having your number 1 guy out, most people don't try anymore and don't care. I think if he was there, Cleveland would have been ready to go. Huge props to the Ole Purple Mat Eaters. They did take this one, but we'll see what happen in February.

  15. Calling another ignorant while admitting ignorance. I believe that says it all.

Please explain to all of those ignorant of the fact, how is Father Ryan not at full strength? Which wrestlers are currently not in their line-up? Missing state placers and nationally ranked wrestlers is not quite the same as improving by the end of the season or dropping a weight class now is it?

Kennedy did not wrestle HWT last year and it's ignorant to assume Debien would still be at 126.

Yes we already established the fact that Father Ryan got the win on the 8th criteria. No ones arguing that fact. Based on circumstances I still ranked FR below Cleveland and you continue to whine about it as if my opinion will effect Father Ryan's state seed.

as I was looking last night both teams do not have nationally ranked kids and if you're talking about Debian, he is not ranked on flo.
  16. I would have to say Bradley is going to be the power house this year. They will be the best team in the state of TN hands down. I just saw where they put up a heck of a fight against Archer. Who is going to stop them? No One.

  17. Any kids out there going to the super 32 tournament. I hear is a pretty tough one and only the elite wrestlers go. Only the best of the best will place. Any TN guys qualify for this? If so please tell me who all is going. This is a huge opportunity to get recognized by the college coaches,
