  1. That was everything we had for this year and the next 10. Yep! Most definitely every play. We just recycle year in and year out every game. Watch the film and you have us. How could we so foolishly give away our secrets like that?
  2. Sometimes the only choice you have is to advance. When no one else believes you have to convince them. https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=EJqvLNzn&id=72C25EE6CA12994777C58A37C202D1735EFCCCB4&thid=OIP.EJqvLNznf6nEbkv1AzCsaQDPEs&q=+Braveheart+meme&simid=608005038431666293&selectedIndex=25
  3. Oh, I never anticipated we'd survive against the unbeatable. They are destined for the Super Bowl. I just wanted my money's worth for my ticket.
  4. So let's say AC takes care of Betsy, what will you have left then Devil? You won't be able to ride this strength of schedule reasoning. It doesn't matter anyway since the team that advances this week is challenging the gods the following week. Can you have them throw a few lightning bolts and create some thunder? We do like our pre-game shows!
  5. I'm an in your face kinda guy.lol That being said, I take it like I dish it. Let's keep this fun!
  6. Statistics aren't always representative of how a game will go. Both teams look to be strong out of the gate and through the 1st half. I expect a close one until then. If the statistics hold true, the game will be decided in the 3rd quarter rather than the 4th. I don't expect this. I see it coming down to the wire and a win or loss within 2 points. Betsy's playbook is very similar to our own as is their size and ability.
  7. Scoring Averages Anderson County Q1- 19.5 Q2- 18.6 Q3- 11.5 Q4- 7.9 Total-55.4 Elizabethton 16.8 18.3 3.4 7.4 42.5
  8. We aren't feeling the pain too much. You can invite them to our playoff games as well. There is plenty of seating. It's all about choices and loyalty. Every coin has two sides. Some carry a two-faced coin for fear of losing the toss. There is no satisfaction in victory without the condition of loyalty through unsuccessful times.
  9. "Congladulations?" Hog must be the one who painted the paw print and, "Were coming" on the AC field house door. Were about sums up the beat down handed to CC that night as they never showed up. I hear your weekend is free hog. You should join us. I'm sure Besty will save you a seat on their side.
  10. This is golden! What kid in the world is okay with being held back first of all? Secondly, the coaches at AC teach that life is bigger than football and prepare these young men for it as much as they can. To think that parents would allow this as some sort of grand plan over football says enough about your level of crazy. My son was 18 when he graduated and played. It's a matter of birthdays as to when you start school and I highly doubt we have that many that failed 7th grade for this master plan. I'll put our coaches and AD against any programs if you want to match character and class. They are part of the reason I moved home from AL so my son could attend AC and be a part of this fine environment.
  11. Then you guys should take a week off from practice and go have some team bonding time bowling or at the movies. I certainly hope we are that overlooked.
  12. It sure is a good thing we don't put stock into the NFL pre-season and start declaring strength of squad and wins. There are many variables that can be misleading before a season. I think it's more than obvious that AC has it together regardless what anyone thinks of the schedule. If there were no concerns this would be a very quiet board.
  13. There's a lot of big checks being written by Greeneville fans before they even get through the interview. If the Mavs lose along the way, some might pile on, but I will be very proud of what these young men have done. The Mavericks have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If we continue to win and beat the X-Men, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy, that you elevate Greeneville to, then I see many Devil's fans rocking in the corner like the last election. A little smack before the game is one thing. Eventually it becomes, "We know! Greeneville is unbeatable. No team is worthy to play them. It's a shame that college gets in the way of the NFL." So when does the city get put into the National Historic Registry as the birthplace of football? I give them credit for a great season but any given Friday!
  14. In the U.S. Navy, a comment like this would have been met with a response of, "Assumption is the mother of all f'ups!" Even before losing a fight Mike Tyson knew, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the nose." We'll see who brings their game each week.
  15. Philosophy would dictate that if you can't beat them, join them. I'm still trying to find the chapter on whining and excuses you've adhered to for so long like a mantra.
  16. The atmosphere was dead! There is no other way to put it. The Mavs brought almost as many fans as Chattanooga Central, and it was their Senior Night. Neither side had a band present which made it a great environment for the players to hear the coaches as they called in plays and made adjustments. For the fans, it lacked energy and was more like watching a practice. The band needs to show up period! Everyone feeds and performs on that added energy! The Mavericks started out a little slow. Stanton was throwing hot over the heads of his receivers in the beginning. Upon adjusting, he was throwing into the dirt. This was very uncharacteristic of him. The run game kept the 1st drives alive and Stanton found his rhythm for the rest of the game permorming beautifully. He also managed to pull off some big runs and key 1st downs on a few broken plays where coverage was good and the CC line penetrated. The score is a clear indicator that the Mavericks dominated the game but doesn't give the true perspective. Two touchdowns were called back for questionable penalties. Phillips ripped off a huge run and took it to the house, breaking 5 tackles before finding the open field (called back for a hold). Gallaher muscled some big runs dragging half the defense on 3rd and 7 multiple times to keep the drives alive. As usual, the passing game was spread all over with several long pass completions (1 called back for an ineligible receiver downfield). The receivers were adequate this week but a bit sloppy with several dropped balls or not getting to the spot on the route. The AC defense was in a race to acquire as many yards as our offense by tackling Chattanooga Central for many big losses in the backfield. I had heard rumor that Central had a beast running back but he didn't show up. Their Quarterback likely had the most rushing yards with two decent broken plays that he tucked and ran for about 15 yards each. Otherwise it was generally 3 and out or one 1st down and done all night. Special teams coverage was awesome all night until the final minutes of the 4th quarter when the game was in the bag and the Mavs got sloppy. That return came to our 48 yard line. The Pounders couldn't make it to the 20 yard line all night except for once when they reached the 22 and the final return. Starting field position for CC was about the 17 yard line avg. My take away from this game was that while the competition was lacking, the Mavericks have the talent and ability to go deep and possibly all the way if they can tighten up. The teams in the playoffs won't be forgiving or allow do-overs if mistakes are made , and the players slack on any plays. The talent and coaching is clearly in place. Gaining home field advantage for the playoffs will go a long way to build that intensity, but the team has to bring that intensity on the road at the deeper levels. The Mavs earn a B- minus in my personal rating of this game with mostly solid play, a little intensity missing, and slight lack of focus due to the level of competition combined with atmosphere. It's hard to maintain some of these things without a true test. That's as honest as I can be agreeable or not.
  17. Cade is a very solid QB with good speed. I watched several videos and most of the plays were run as scripted and well executed. There really wasn't any video other than a short dump pass to see how Cade reacts to a broken play. That is why I think Stanton is set apart from the rest. He has a rare vision that only comes along every so often. If the play falls apart, he still makes something big happen.
  18. http://www.unapproved website.com/athlete/stanton-martin/kYA_-zvJEeW-8KA2nzwbTA/default.htm Lots of video here until he can show you.
  19. I love all of this talk about being, "battle-tested." We acknowledge that it's been a cream puff schedule this year. No one at AC is acting like we are unbeatable. The truth is that there is so much talent on this squad like a few years past when the schedule was tough. I think we can hold our own against any schedule. It's nice to have that large margin of victory but the W at the end of the night is all that matters. Post season will most definitely become more difficult. These young men are anxious to show everyone just how good they are regardless the opponent. One good back from the region isn't very intimidating when I look at the first two layers of our defense. With these guys, you never know which side the kill shot is coming from. Containment has been excellent! I'd tell the CC QB to put on some rib guards and prepare to get some grass stains. As long as AC can play disciplined ball without major penalties, this should be another win. It's hard to practice for an offense that has two of the areas top backs and arguably the best duel threat QB anyone has seen for many years.
  20. Unfortunately I can't upload the Willy Wonka meme, "Do tell us about your "tough" football schedule this year." I do applaud Campbell County for stepping it up a little by taking the KY Girl Scout teams off the schedule. However, your strength of schedule doesn't break much of a sweat now or in the past. You lost to Oak Ridge, who is probably at their weakest in decades. They are still managing 5-2 knowing CC can get in line behind Fulton and Oak Ridge. Cherokee 4-4, David Crockett 5-2, MoHam E 1-6, Gibbs, 4-3, Karns 2-6. Very intimidating to say the least. (pussycat grrrr!) Many of us are whispering how we'd like to play the traditional teams instead of this schedule of unknowns. There is no rivalry here. It will be great when we can once again educate our step-brother in the game of football. Haters gonna hate and posers gonna pose!
  21. There is no doubt that Greeneville is to be respected. The same can also be said for Anderson County. Now lets take a walk back through time...to 2013. Anderson County faced off against an unbeaten 6A Catholic. The structure of that AC team was almost a mirror image of this team with a big front line, triple threat backfield, excellent receivers, and a wall for a defense. The Irish talked a lot the week before the game and were very confident we were a "speed bump." I remember a certain young running back rushed for 433 yards and had 5 touchdowns that game (We have two now that are both capable). The Quarterback himself rushed for a few..hundred, threw for more yardage and TDs. The after game comments from the Catholic coach were, "The only thing that stopped you from putting up more yards was the fence around the field. We didn't know how to stop you!" It was a high scoring game 61 - 40 which testifies that Catholic wasn't a pushover. By all means, please bring that arrogance with you to the playoffs Devil Dude! This isn't the first time AC has been underestimated. Mocking the schedule and ridiculing the team almost smells like fear that David might just be entering the arena with Goliath. I personally hope the paths of both teams cross. It's only then that anyone can assess who is made of what.
  22. I've questioned the strength of schedule but haven't questioned the talent AC has this year. Tonight will be a good indicator as to where the team's mental strength is. Our D line and linebackers are getting it done impressively. We haven't been able to stop the pass in years past, but have done well in that regard this year. Stanton isn't just a great QB, but a rare QB that has the vision to pick the right receiver, ability to improvise, and can run. The backfield is double stacked again with Phillips and Gallaher (Both beasts). Our receivers make things happen. I've been rough on the coaches over the years, but this year is the finest clock management, play calling, and game strategy I've seen. This group has the chance to be the first regular season team to go undefeated and possibly win state. People talk smack every week, but these guys keep leaving it all on the field week after week. Keep putting up and making people shut up! Go Mavs!
  23. Seahawks, I asked Matt if he wished he were out there. He said for one night again, it would be great. The next level has proven that you can never feel you've reached the top. He's working hard and in time will earn his place to do great things once again. In the meantime, I have three teams to follow which is awesome!
  24. It was great to get out and watch some football! The Mavs just couldn't pull it together. I saw youth and mistakes from both teams but also saw many positives. The AC defense proved to be strong in the first half. Much better pass defense than years past. The offense has some weapons but isn't clicking as a single unit. This may be a rough year or they may pull it together. I do see a good squad down the road. Thanks to the Green Devils for the hospitality and best of luck during your season. It was a great environment.
  25. The Fox and family will be there to support our Mavericks. I know nothing about the team this year or what to expect. I know we lost many great players last year but Davey always finds a way to coach them up.
