    Iy seems like we (SC) didn't play York for a few years - maybe York went East and we missed some of these coaches. I could be wrong (not the first time).

    The year Philip was here you guys came to the Dragon pit. It was a great game triple ot. One of the best YAI/Smith County battles I remember.

    No Phillip replaced Wheaton before 91-92 season then it was john Debaker, Roy Stucker, then Derwin. He didn't get to York till late 90's he was an assistant under stucker. Phillip went 6-5 the only yr he was there

    All of the verbage in the world wont change the fact York did not get to play in this year's tournament. All that can be done at this point is to hope and pray common sense prevails and York will be allowed to play in next year's tournament. Both sides were in the wrong and York has paid the price while Pickett County played. I have nothing against Pickett County. It was an unfortunate incident that could have been prevented with proper supervision.

    YAIDAD.......WHY DON'T YOU GO TALK TO YOUR SCHOOL OFFICIALS BEFORE YOU MOUTH OFF ABOUT WHO WAS THERE AND WHO WASN'T!!! GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE SHOOTING OFF AT THE MOUTH! THAT'S WHAT THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS RIGHT NOW, NO ONE WANTS TO LISTEN TO THE FACTS. QUIT TAKING IT OUT ON EVERYONE FROM PICKETT, THE STUDENT SECTION DOES NOT HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED AT, BUT AGAIN THE PLAYERS HAVE TO MAINTAIN COMPOSURE AT ALL TIMES NO MATTER WHAT. WE CAN POINT FINGERS ALL DAY LONG.....IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!!

     

     

    Fact adults were told numerous times of a problem. Fact they do nothing about it. Fact they put 15 y/o kids in situations adults should not be in.

     

    I am not pointing fingers. Throwing a punch is not the answer BUT every human has a breaking point. The proper channels had been addressed. PC knew this was a problem prior to this game. The officials had been told during this game. It's a bad situation all the way around, but to give on team all the punishment. I wouldn't be happy if it were the other way around. High school sports are for the kids not mom and dad to relive their youth.

    I can understand your frustration and concern. I do disagree with you, in that several student sections get out of control whether behind the opposing teams bench or not. For example, when PC's boys were in front of York's student section, they were repeatedly cussed and harassed. The only difference is PC players held their composure and didn't haul off and throw a punch. The young man on York's bench who threw the punch should have had more composure. Just because someone calls you a name, etc does not give anyone the right to start a fight. Being a former player myself, i was yelled out and called names, but I was there to compete and play ball. I ignored it. Again, I am not condoning what happened, but this is a problem for several schools.

     

    And at what time was Pickett County in front of York's student section. They set on the opposite side of the gym. And as far as Pickett county players not being being envolved I'm sure that has something to do with the pep club punching kids sitting on the bench. This is ridiculous. And as far as my state representative not staying and supporting the kids from both schools he supposed to represent. I will make sure to lobby every person I find to show him our displeasure come the next election. The kids from fentress county are just as important as his grand kid.

    You know exactly what was political influence I was referencing. You know who all went down with Pickett county as well as I do. Trust me the

    blame lies with the adults that should have been supervising that student

    section. They get out of hand and you know it. Out of the whole thing York has been screwed. If Pickett just got a slap on the hand then some of the

    punishment that York received should be lifted as well.

    I don't know what political influence went so please share. I may need to rethink my voting.

    It gets funding due to agreement made with a war hero. The county will have no choice if and when it's turned over. Not sure what this has to do with coaching staff. I hate the situation for the kids many of them have played ball since they were 6 or 7 years old. And now when they get to high school they are gonna end up with a coach that doesn't want to be there. So the real ones being punished are the kids.
