  1. South Pitt fans are knowledgeable, respectful, and fun. They can carry on a thread amongst themselves about pitching horseshoes, with an eyepatch. I wish more fans were as objective, on here. Ha!

Granted, I hope they aren’t happy after tonight, but there is respect between the programs/towns.

    Go Gordonsville!

Both defenses need to step up.

LCA has been getting chunk plays from Jackson. He's a stud. However, Gville has made them punt twice and turned it over on downs once. LCA has also been penalized for about 60 yards.

Gville has had success running the ball, more inside the tackles than outside. We've also hit a few pass plays, but we haven't had much time to throw, as we're having a hard time blocking Lawson, #9. We've punted once.

    Thanks for the update!

Playoffs bring out new accounts for some reason…I think it’s funny. Almost like back in the day when the rival team would supposedly  send a “funeral wreath” to the school. Plus, I’ve never heard of a Gordonsville fan refer to themselves as Gordy.

That last sentence is 100% spot on.

Having seen South Pitt and Gordonsville both, I think Gordonsville is by far the better coached and more disciplined team. However, I don't see Gordonsville being able to overcome the athleticism of the Pirates. Gordonsville didn't overwhlem Clay County athletically. However, the Pirates simply outathleted the Bulldogs in just about every facet of the game. I think Gordonsville will not be overwhelmed by the moment, as they have been battle tested as well. My prediction is a 21 point win for the Pirates. Could be less if the Tigers capitalize on sloppy play from the Pirates.

I’m not saying this is correct or not, but if so, then it may be quite possibly that 4-5 of the top 7 teams in 1A and 2A are in 1A

Actually, they have played more than that.  They 1st played in 1979 and in 1980 during the regular season.

That was before my time. I know, for several years, Gordonsville had to beat half the private schools in Nash before advancing. They would show up and complain about country people, and now are calling and wanting to buy land and move to Gville.

He didnt sit in the bleachers he put his pads back on and went into the game. Also didn’t yell at a coach. But I will bet the reason why he was so fired up was because a Gordonsville player had him by the throat calling him a worthless “fat***.” I’m sure you don’t condem that or would like to think you don’t. There’s always two sides to every story SIR.

That sucks he was held by the throat and had his feelings hurt. My post was a gordonsville player hasn’t been so fired up and taken pads off, in my lifetime, that i am aware. Losing can be upsetting, being treated unfairly, can be upsetting. But when you do lose, which we all do, do so with pride and class. Your team is not playing and was not competitive all year. Gordonsville and SP will be playing next week and many look forward to it. Your wisdom and talents may be better utilized in some other way, besides disparaging the same team still playing over and over again. That said, again SP, congratulations. I expected you to win easily against Clay Co. and cheers for the game next week.
