Don’t see a 1 seed having to tackle a Mr football candidate in the first round often.
-
Last time we was at Makenzie we mustard up zero points and less than 50 yards of total offense. Should be a different story this time offensively.
-
Ben’s 4th 300 yard performance of the year.

I'm a fan of Huntland. I've seem both White and Franklin their entire careers. Franklin can't hold Whites jock strap. White is by FAR more dynamic. Rushing, passing, receiving. I'll be honest and say that in my opinion Franklin is an average RB. 1A he prob looks good but there's 100's of him in the state. There's not ANY Dawson Whites in the state but the one that resides in MC......
You must have not watched Ben run for 300 and 5 TDS against White & Moore County his sophomore year. Don’t remember Dawson doing anything that game.

Please stop. Franklin isn't DJ Taylor. Smh
That’s comical.
Taylor rushed the ball 261 times for 2165 yards and went 5-5.
That is 8 yards a carry.
Ben has rushed the ball 131 less times and has 1800 yards for 14 yards a carry.

Dang 100s of guys have close to 2K yards rushing 26 TDs and running for 14 YPC in the state.
Franklin is better defensively than White.
Also Franklin just now got a OC that knows how to get him the ball correctly this year.

This award has to be Dawson White. No questions asked, there is no other player in 1a who has the impact on their team this kid does. If you take him off of Moore County they are an average team at best. They might as well call this award the “Mr. White” award this season.
Take him off Moore County they are still a 8 win team.
Take Franklin off of Cornersville , ehhh maybe .500.
Dawson touches the ball way more than Franklin and Franklin has more yards and touchdowns than white does passing and rushing together.

Go back to their week 2 predictions for reference. Running clocks and 400 yards plus for the running back for starters. #88 should wreak havoc on their Oline. I doubt this one looks like Richland 2.0.
It did…..

Raiders fan shame one of our kids after the game and bring up a 2020 incident that may or may not have happened. How does that make you any better?

Now what do you say? Still Ben over Dawson?
Dawson will or should win it no doubt. Ben still had a good game 9-10 yards a carry, but when a you got a QB that can run it the way he does and throw it too that’s tough.
He is a special player enjoy it, because those are a dime in a dozen or maybe more!

You might want rewatch film lil dog. #66 for cville set the tone for the game by bumping them gums in warmups this isn’t the team to do that too. Majority of the time MC was finishing it not starting it that’s why there where so many offsetting penalties
I forgot stepping on kids chest on the ground and suplexing kids while tackling them. Fans shaming kids after the game, classless to me but you do you.
Y’all have a great team no doubt but the refs were catching the 2nd guy all night long on dirty plays by you all.

Moore County is good, but they are the dirtiest bunch of boys we have played in quite some time.

Unfortunately, I believe there's no criteria to win this award. I know they may say it goes to the best player that performs well on the field, as well as be a great person off the field. I'm sure all the players that were mentioned previous are great people as well, so that does cancel out. Just because so and so from school A is a great kid, doesn't mean so and so from school B is not.
When it comes to the "award" and I will still go by who the best player is, that'll be Kumaro Brown. The only problem for Kumaro is that he may have missed a game already (don't have his official stats) and he may not have the carries as well. Honestly, it is all about usage rate. Lake County may need Mullins to run for 400+ yards so they can win a game. MASE doesn't really need Brown have to get Brown close to 400 yards, not in August-October at least.
It's similar to Mr./Mrs. Basketball
Player A may need to get 30-35 points per game so his/her team can win.
Player B has the luxury to not have to worry about getting 30-35 points, but is still an overall better player than player A. Just doesn't have to get the stats to prove.
If that’s the case Cameron Whitaker should have won it in 2018. Cornersville was up 40+ at the half every game and never saw the field after halftime. He got runner up.

Pretty sure Dowell from White county had 3201 yards last year on 299 carries with 40 TDs and didn’t win it so good luck.
1) All of that in the regular season? Wow
2) That is mind boggling either way. Straight robbed!

probably not honestly. they take records and everything into consideration
If Ben runs for 2000 yards this year, leads the state in touchdowns and in sacks, how would you not give it to him? When is the last time somebody ran for 2000 yards not counting the playoffs?

Ben Franklin won’t win it, but he will be invited to the finals IMO.
Will the winner of next weeks game have any implications on White or Franklin having the edge over one or the other?
Ben has over 1000 yards on 70 touches or less.
-
The offense of line is killing Cornersville. They have guys running wide open down the field , can’t get the run game going because the backs are getting hit in the back field. The play calling is there but if you can’t block it doesn’t matter what they run.

Not that it matters, but thought you should know. List of players that were out for those games.
Out both games:
2 Riley Qualls Sr.
8 Mason Calahan Sr.
15 Wesley Pigg Jr.
50 John Jeter Sr.
55 Hunter McNeese Sr.
56 Braden Hickman Sr.
70. Kale Ford
75 Jake Welch Jr.
additional out forMC game
19 Blake Estes Sr.
77 David Metcalf Sr.
That’s 10 we did not have for one reason or another… everyone of these men were started with maybe a couple fighting to be one. MC we started a freshman LB and 8th grade lineman.
Franklin , Woodard or walker didn’t played against Moore County either. Wouldn’t have matter but just saying.

It's many of the same players and the defensive coach that lost 120-6 to Moore Co and Fayettevile at seasons end. If the head coach was that bad whoever made the hire should lose their job; if the new coach is this good Region 5 can mail the coach of the year plaque to 37047.
That is a false statement. Hardly any of the same players were playing either of those games. The Moore County game last year , Cornersville had at least 9 starting defense of players out if not all 11.

So the Cornersville team that lost 23-6 last season is THAT much better due to just coaching alone? Are there any major additions to join Franklin in this feat?
Lord yes. This years team would beat last years team by 40.

With being a 5A school they have more resources than a 1A school hence the drone over the field on Friday. As a 1A school you play bigger schools to help prepare your teams for playoff runs and I think this game was a great decision. I can handle a Loss if we got beat by a better team but sadly we did not get beat by a better team which is a good thing. Small school battles 5A school who should have had us beat at halftime.
Richland is turning their program around. I am not used to losing. I guess you are used to losing for 2 decades. Great commitment to the Raiders team.
Not use to losing?????? This is a football thread not basketball.
