My nephew is a junior on the team so I have followed them for the last few years. They aren't the bestvteam around but they are much improved from last 2 seasons
Gotcha. Best of luck on having a great season.
Sycamore is always a scrappy team.

You are 100% correct. If white house uses the same offense they used second half against sycamore they should beat Fairview convincingly
You sure are high on Sycamore. Are you a fan of theirs? Just curious.
Fairview should control this game IMO. That don't mean they will. I've not saw a complete game from them all season. Creek Wood as it turned out is our best win.

I too look forward to the Waverly match up. I think this will be our next test, and we should win the next 3 prior to getting to them.
I think the White House game could be a tough one too. Especially if we don't come out firing on all cylinders. They hung around with Waverly a good while.
I think Fairview and Waverly are nearly identical this year. Same strengths and weaknesses. I think it will be a battle.

I do fear many of them playing both sides of the ball could hurt us deep in the playoffs, mostly because if we get a season ending injury, not sure how deep we can go at some of those positions.
Without question. We saw last year when 2 guys went down for the season in the Camden game what a difference that will make. We were a shell of our former team after that. Hopefully we can avoid that down the stretch this year.
Those slow starts we're talking about are a root problem preventing us from developing depth throughout the season. Instead of playing young guys we're still going into 4th quarters digging out of self inflicted holes with starters still in the game.

Checking unapproved website (not sure how accurate that is), Total yards was 648????
I saw that too. It shows Mays threw for 161 yds but on the team stats says we had 329 passing yards. Something is off.

Since I've not been around commenting any so far this season I'll give my take based on what I have saw from Fairview.
Very slow starts have been their Achilles heel from the beginning of season and as of last night is still an issue. The offense just has not been able to get in sync until 3rd and 4th quarter of every game that was competitive. It never got in sync in the Page game against their very good defense. Even if it had they likely were going to be 1-2 scores behind Page IMO.
Westview loss was same deal except we should have won that game IMO. Dug into a 20-0 hole in the first half then ran out of time. Most Fairview folks blamed ot on the refs but not me. You can't make that many mistakes and blame the outcome on 1 bad call. We deserved to lose that game.
The defense has been pretty solid this year and have been able to adjust during the game well against every team we've played that has a respectable offense.
I still think this team is better than last years and can win the region and maybe a couple playoff games. The offense has to stop turning over the ball so frequently though and be game ready at kickoff.
I'm anxious to see the White House and Waverly games.

Assuming he was a Fairview poster, but not knowing his identity, not sure. Fairview has basically 2 levels of fans, as I am sure most schools do. Hard core, homegrown, loyal been coming to cheer on the team on Fridays no matter what, and parents who are just engaged while their kids are there. A small level of those who are in between who come and go. But like you, I do wonder where he went and miss his contributions to these threads.
Thanks. I'm one of the homegrown fans but usually do have kin of some variety on the team. I also will tell it like I see it on here too which ruffles some hometown feathers lol.

Fairview putting up 600+ yards of offense is very impressive.
I'm not sure that's accurate. FV definitely could score at will against WHH but I don't think they racked up that much yardage last night.

I think they would have made it to the ship if they were still in 3A but would have humbled against Alcoa
I'd love to see them vs Page. Lol

I watched this game today. Hampton ran into a buzzsaw and should hold their head high.
This game very much resembled the one I witnessed in person at Fairview.
You don't see offenses that aggressive and efficient very often. Westview also has an above average defense and special teams.
It would be cool to know what their ceiling is right now. How would they stack up against the other champions?

As a neutral football fan this game was a treat to witness. Congratulations to both teams on a hard fought game. There were fantastic players all over the field.
To the victor goes the spoils. Way to go Tullahoma. I was pulling for you because of the arrogance from a few Betsy fans in this thread. I thought not kicking that field goal late in the 4th was a terrible call still but it turned out not to matter.
Thanks to both teams for such a great game!

I saw the video that Walter retweeted. The Page player knew what he was doing, but I’m not sure it’s smart to call out the #1 DL in the nation before the game.
70 for Page ain't no slouch himself. I like his chances to hold his ground. He's a very good high school center. 24/7 be dammed.
Go Page!

Congrats to the F5 for another gold ball! Incredible run.
Congrats to East Nashville as well. They had some miscues but it was obvious they deserved to be here and have a loaded roster. They never laid down either!

If I'm not mistaken we returned 7 on offense, 9 on defense.
