  1. They have talent. Can play really well on offense. I think the poster is giving your team credit for being very good. And on a normal day thinks y'all should beat them handily. I've already stated what I think might happen but if what I hear they might do Friday I think it could blow up in their face. Me I'd never say your coach is brainless in a loss. Anything can happen. The games you mentioned they still lost. The Bradley game you saw it coming during the warm ups. Seriously. One organized the other eh not so much. Normal game Oak Ridge could just out score them. Probably will have to. Owls beat them in what had to be their best game still gave up 35 points. So if your offense isn't clicking anything can happen. Rhea has a ball control offense scored 34 on them. Scored 28 on Bradley and Gibson threw for 375 yards. Had 21 at the half against McMinn should of had more. Your defense needs speed and plenty of d backs who can tackle or your offense needs to just keep the ball in long drives.

I largely agree with everything being said about Walker Valley'a offense. Very explosive. But they appeared to lose no less than five starters through the game against the Owls. Are those guys injured or availiable for the game Friday?

  2. I dont know what scrimmage you were watching my man, passive, but before I left it was 56-14 blackmon(and it wasnt even that close).....it was 7-7 early then 42-14 late then blackmon score 2 more times ....then owls had an injury to one of its recvrs and he went to emergency room,I left,so unless our jv scored on them,we got our #### handed to us.

That's why you scrimmage against the best you can find. Bet we aren't talking about run defense if we scrimmage an average team. We were not the better the team, but you can't score it like a game when it's 10+ plays and switch.

  3. NOT SURE HOW MANY WHEN STARTERS WERE IN.

I'd guess 4-2 with Blackman looking stronger overall. I think both squads walked away better afterwards. Ooltewah's offense is much better than last year. Defense will get better as the year goes, but is a year away from being SCARY again. Proud we tested ourselves tonight!

  4. I don't think you will nearly have the same result as last year with Riverdale. They are very heavy laden senior team with two addition 5star transfers on defense and one of the top 5 star receivers in the country in Bond. The new offense put in by the new OC, Kelly Holcomb former NFL QB and the weight training program instill by the new head coach will put a stronger faster Riverdale team on the field this year. OHS will struggle this year to make it to the top of their region. Good Luck and see you at The Classic.

I'm not big on following "stars" but I do know that there are only a handful of 5 Stars in the entire country and you do not have two of them. Oak Ridge has a WR that is somewhere around a 4.5 Star depending on the service you use. Now you have 5 or 6 top tier TN players that are certainly in the 3 Star range and that's 5-6 more than we have now. We didnt have 3 Star players last year. Ooltewah will be extremely well coached and will play great football. I expect the same of Riverdale. The Warriors may be more talented player for player... But they were last year too and we had a great game. Don't be surprised if we don't have another classic in 5 weeks.

  5. Can't wait to beat you guys again!! Ready for August. Hope ooltewah is having a good spring.

Haha hopefully we won't lose our starting QB and mismanage our Timeouts before halftime again! In all seriousness, we seemed to have had a great spring and summer is off to a strong start despite the obvious losses on defense.

  6. Owls defense has to be rebuilt from top to bottom, but they will be decent I think?Offense who knows.,.o-line will be bigger than, they've had in a while, couple of good RBs returning 1 or 2 recvrs with playing time coming back,Who knows might win region again, might not, might surprise alot of people, honestly this year will be a "whats behind door #2 type of year!!" anyway cant wait for football season, period!!!

Pretty accurate. From what I've heard about last year's JV and FR squad, the defense should be just fine overall. If the run game comes along, the Owls may be a lot better than anyone thinks. Personally, I love this region and am very excited to see the scrimmages in August.

  7. David Clary is twitting that Coach Gaddis is saying those going to the scrimmage to see Tee Higgins will only see him play briefly. We already know his talents.

That sounds like a good idea to me. I still feel we beat Ooltewah if Tee had played the second half but couldn't due to injury. That is just my opinion.

    RWR!

Turnovers and lack of defensive urgency put Oak Ridge in a 17-0 hole against the Owls with Tee still 100%. It was a great game and a historic win for Ooltewah. A lot of excellent football players on the field that night. Best of luck to the Wildcats as they go through summer and regular season; hope we meet again!

  8. Let's talk football people!!! Looking forward to beating Ooltewah again this season!

I'm with you! I wouldn't be so sure of that happening again. We will be young on defense, but those kids are HUNGRY. I think they'll play more tenacious and aggressive than last year, albeit not as talented overall.

Will the JV QB be the MAN this year? I've heard he has a canon but isn't nearly as mobile as the one y'all will be replacing.

  9. A good choice would be the current defensive coordinator. This team's defense was stout last season. I have heard James mentioned, as well as speculation on Helton (Whitwell). As a fan I wouldn't be opposed to either of them. Whoever gets the job will need to take charge asap. This team has a ton of potential, but nothing is guaranteed. Two years ago they were picked to win the region, but finished 3-7. Last season they were picked near last and ended up undefeated. Confidence is everything, and if the team can keep the chemistry they found last season they should do fine.

    What's his name and background?

  10. Any truth to the rumor that your HC is being heavily considered by Riverdale? I love bragging about how good the coaching is in our district, so I'd honestly hate to lose him. I figured I'd bring it up here since no one was biting on the Riverdale thread.

Also, congratulations on the players that signed to play college ball. I honesty think all three are talented enough to play at a higher level, but will be immediate stars with the schools they chose.

  11. Not a "basketball" problem, it's a culture that exists that affects every student at OHS past and present. Based on the places I am seeing this article posted today (other media outlets) you guys will probably will make the Today Show again. Maybe 20/20, 48 hours etc. But as long as it doesn't affect football then no worries, right?

I moved here over 3 years ago. I love high school football and watched a few local games. I really enjoyed the style that Ooltewah played with. So I became a "fan" and have been to most home games since. That's my connection.

If it makes you feel better to keep coming at me directly, by all means continue. Two tours in Iraq will thicken anyone's skin up. As for me, I will talk about HS football on here and that's about it. It doesn't mean I agree or disagree with anything. I just understand the forum's purpose. If you'd like to meet up and discuss things, feel free to DM me and maybe we can develop enough mutual respect to make that happen.

I have read several startling things about incidents across the county and state over the last few years. Looks to me like the media has worked everything into one "evil" entity to attack. Makes it easier. Sells papers. It doesn't fix the broken society that all of our kids live in, not just those zoned for Ooltewah.

  12. With all that has gone on in regards to OHS and the only thing RicoSuave can say is that they have not proven anything linked to football. I guess after the Hamilton County BOE pays out millions to settle lawsuits maybe the culture will change. As long as the "hardship" train keeps rolling it doesn't appear that anyone is that concerned. As far as I am concerned the 2 coaches, the AD, principal, asst principal, and director of schools all need to go to jail. Sickening situation!

I share my opinions on matters this far outside of football (and much more important) in person, with real names, and with people I trust enough to have a candid conversation with. Don't attempt to twist my words or guess my motives.

There's a basketball thread if you're truly committed to using a screen name and a sports message board to voice your concern.

  13. Nothing in there that hasn't been said before. Still nothing proven to be linked to football. But since we are spreading propaganda, I found a nice video showcasing the 9 senior football players that put pen to paper on signing day. It won't let me post the link.

Best of luck to these young men as they continue their education and football careers.
