  1. Great win last night for the Admirals! Great play from the QB, WRs and #4 proved to be too much for the Bulldogs. Farragut threw the ball a lot more last night and they exploited the weak Bearden secondary. Good win for the Admirals.
  2. Farragut should win big in this one, but with this rivalry game being the way it is, Bearden always plays it's best game of the year. Just going off Beardens record, and not getting to see them play at all, they seem to be struggling a lot.
  3. Farragut coming off a couple of big wins against Hardin Valley and Heritage. Bearden coming off a couple of losses to West and Hardin Valley. Records do not matter this week as both teams will be giving their best efforts. At Bearden if you go 1-9 and beat Farragut, that is considered a good year. This will be a good game no matter what the circumstance. Hopefully Farragut can continue to build on their offensive success the last couple of weeks and play well Thursday night!
  4. Can't wait to see some of my fellow alumnae tomorrow night for homecoming! Hoping that there is a big turnout for the alumni association. More importantly, I hope the team comes out and scores early and often. Hopefully the QB will continue to build on his performance last week and leads this offense to a large victory over Heritage.
  5. I think if the Ads come out and play like the offense did the first half against Hardin Valley, they can hang 60 on Heritage. I am hoping they can do that this week.
  6. Big game for the Admirals this week as it is homecoming! Hopefully they can play well enough that a lot of kids can play this week. I stumbled upon this awesome website last week and this is my first thread, so go easy on me! What does everyone else think about the game?
  7. Could not have put it better. Eddie was the D-Coordinator when I played at Farragut and he has done a great job. Really enjoy watching the Ads play. I hope your son has a fantastic rest of the season because he can carry this offense if he does. Go Ads!
  8. "Hide Behind a nameless moniker" I don't see your name on here, "pineislandkid". I never blamed him for all of Farragut's troubles. In fact, you are the one pointing fingers to other(aka secondary)positions for Farragut's woes. All I said is that this offense is QB driven and will only be as good as he is. Blaming the coaches for "not opening opening the play book" is absurd. From what I have seen this year, I am sure a little bit of confidence was lost in the QB after his poor play. He seems to always look for the home run, as opposed checking it down. There have been several occasions when they are running the smash passing concept and he missed the read every time trying to hit the home run ball. Sure, everyone has an off day or two, but blaming the play caller for not calling for sons number when he has struggled, is crazy. Sorry to get you bent out of shape, but this is a message board and not always the best place for parents interact. I know I am a new guy on here, but come on. Just to be clear, I think your son is a good HS QB. I think he needs to get back to what he did last year to lead the league in passing. I hope for his sake and this teams sake he will continue to play and build off of his performance this past Friday night.
  9. Stumbled upon this website after looking for local scores on Friday night, this is really neat! Just found the forums today and starting reading away. After moving back to Farragut after moving around for my job, I love getting to watch my alma mater, '96, Farragut play. Of course, I really enjoy HS football, and have been able to make most Farragut games over the past few years. The offense is obviously a product of the QB, and centers around how he is playing. It has been evident that he has not played up to his previous levels. Friday night, I think he played at or near the level everyone I expect him to play at. The first give games he was making bad plays into terrible plays with some of his decisions, and this offense seems to go as he goes. I will say I am happy to see him not celebrating and taunting so much after making a big play, and ripping off Manziel with the chest thing. The DB was tough and the 12 men on the field penalty did hurt Farragut, but I do not think that is what cost them the game. I think we let last year's DB team be us twice, last year and again this year. I think the offense has opened up, to point to where they feel comfortable with the QB, but probably not to the point to please the message board experts.I will disagree with the notion that Farragut did not make halftime changes against West. The offense was clearly horrible in the 1st half, but 2nd half came out and played better, so I do think something changed. This past Friday night it was clear Farragut listened to some of the chatter of people in the stands about the play calling and "opened up the playbook," and it clearly worked in 1st half. I do think the play calling became a little more conservative in the 2nd half, but rightfully so, why not run the ball and run some time off of the clock? But I think what hurt this team more in the 2nd half is that they took their foot off the gas and let up a little bit. The O-line clearly melted down in the 2nd half and struggled to block anyone, and I think that is a clear indication they let up while Hardin-Valley put on more steam. The secondary did struggle the other night and it was clear Hardin-Valley had a game plan for Farragut's secondary. I know the Russell did not play up to how he wanted to. We go to church with his family, and they are battling some health issues right now and I am afraid it is affecting his football playing, but you can't fault the kid for that. I agree that taking a knee with 1:51 to go in the game was a bit puzzling, and hopefully that will be corrected going forward. I hope this team continues to improve and build on each game. I hope the QB continues to improve and keep playing at a higher level each week. This week we play Heritage and should win by 4 TDs, but if this team doesn't come out focused, it would be a replay of the William-Blount game from last year. I am looking forward to the ongoing debates throughout the rest of the season on these forums!
