Well your right the talent is not that bad. Wartburg had a decent core group of kids. Their major problem is they made the worst coaching hire in the history of Morgan County. The man they hired as their head coach could not win if he had Grace Christians talent. He not only is a bad coach but he treats his kids like they are second rate talent as well and the kids cannot stand him. People say oh he hasn't had the talent poor little guy. I say bull crap he had a ton of talent his first year with a good group of kids, but he was so busy playing suck up he forgot to take care of his players and his team. He could have made the playoffs with his first group I'm pretty sure the coach before him made the playoffs with that group as juniors so the excuse he had no talent is ridiculous. They need to do everyone in wartburg a favor and make the principal do what's right for the school and those kids and get rid of his sorry butt and find a real football coach instead of someone that got ran out of his own county. If your home town runs you off and will not let you come close to the kids at their high school why would another school hire him. I know b/c he is a huge brown noser. They need to fire him and hire a real coach with a real staff and not someone that gets credit as the head coach for all the work that their offensive coordinator does.

Well the first thing they need to do to compete is get a good coaching staff. This means fire the poor excuse of an offensive coordinator who doesn't know any type of offense to call he just picks random plays and hopes they work. RB is probably the second worst coach in East Tn behind Brawner from wartburg. I for one cannot wait to watch the worst offensive minded coach in East Tn go up against quite possibly the worst defensive minded coach in East Tn.

Rodney Ellison from Clinton would be an excellent choice if he was given the proper support and was allowed to bring in a staff he assembled with adequate time to interview and choose the best possible candidates.

What about the 20 something seniors he had last year he had the size on the line he had the qb he had receivers he had talent what was his excuse last year ? Same system same everything losing results.

Discipline ? A team that had a flat out brawl you call a disciplined team? Ask any kid that played that year other than dans son and it was not bc of him they went 9-3. He's a great guy loves wartburg and loves the kids, but his passion for winning isn't there anymore you take Ellison and Cochran away from that team and insert the staff now they win maybe 4 games as well based purely on talent. The best thing he did was stay out of the way and let those guys do the coaching. As far as this years staff they are doing those kids an injustice I wouldn't let my child play for brawner if he was a little league coach he should be fired and if wartburg wants a real coach with a decent staff try paying someone instead of trying to get Alabama type results out of a roane state budget.

Dan is not the answer Ellison is why Dan had his 9-3 season they need to just find a coach that knows what he's doing and actually research the person they are hiring the guy they have now had a lot of talent last year and wasted it now these kids can't stand to play for him he has lost his team and should lose his job.
