  1. So Swami is saying that Riverdale has not had the talent to win the big one since coach A has been there. Riverdale has had plenty of talent in the last eight years. I would say coach Quarles would have took them to the championship at least 6 out of the last 8 years. just saying.
  2. They did get better, but until coach A decides to make some changes they will never make it to the big dance. It will be the same old same old as always and they will eventually get down to a 25 man roster. You cant win consistently playing 5 freshman. That is NOT a positive thing. That is why they have a freshman team. They are not ready for big boy ball yet.
  3. James Franklin has three years with a Lavergne team. Coach A has had 8 years with an Alabama team. James Franklin is a good coach right now. He may be a great coach someday. Some of his wins have come with teams they should beat and he has also had some big wins in there, but also caught some teams in down years.
  4. They had some freshman getting a little time, but not 5 playing a lot. the freshman team lost to Smyrna and Oakland. The QB did start about half the season, but he was the only freshman starting.
  5. Probably none. I here coach A is staying.
  6. 568 wins makes you a good coach. Winning championships makes you a great coach.
  7. I don't think Portland and Hillsboro are in 5A or 6A. Coach Aydellot has had the talent at Riverdale to win at least 3 championships. That is not the sign of a great coach when you can't get the job done.
  8. How many championships does Perry, Hatfield and Aydellot have in 5A or 6A?
  9. Your right about the defense. If you look at Hueytowns over all winning percentage, it is not very good. I think you could probably win with any offense if you had Jameis as your QB. Not many schools have a QB that good year in and year out.
  10. Looks like Vad Lee for Georgia Tech doesn't want to run the wing-t anymore. He probably realized it wasn't going to take him to the next level. Same thing 5A and 6A schools should realize.
  11. My bad swami, Your probably right about the weight room. I guess it should fall back on the coaching winning championships.
  12. Swami, you must not be as close to the program as you thought. How can you tell who is going to other schools without giving names. I'm sure you know the answer. The wing-t limits running backs from getting touches. When you have four backs in the starting backfield and subbing three more, then 5 touches a game isn't much. Plus it limits the QB from the passing game. How many colleges are running the wing-t. Not many looking for a Wing-t QB. Besides, that is just a small part of what is going on at Riverdale.
  13. I am saying the weight room is to small and outdated. Every sport in the school has to use the same weight room. unless your in first period the players are only lifting 2 days one week and 3 days the next. Rutherford county is on a block schedule now, but you probably know that since you spend most of your time at Riverdale. also the locker room is terrible. Falling apart. when you compare the football facilities to Siegel, Oakland and Blackman, no wander kids are driving by Riverdale to play at the other schools, that and most kids don't want to paly in the wing-t system.
  14. Swimi, there you go assuming things again. How do you know I have never coached. I have plenty of years of coaching experience. And a whole lot of playing years. Besides, I don't think you have to be a coach to see what's happening at Riverdale. I think field turf is the last thing they need right now. A new weight room would be nice for starters and maybe a new locker room. If you have a wheelbarrow full of money to give, what are you waiting on. They are in desperate need of funds.
  15. Coach A already has a volunteer waterboy. Remember he doesn't like big numbers, so you will have to stick with being his lawnboy.
  16. Swimi, the reason I have you narrowed down is because there are only about two people that have ties with Riverdale that think the program is where it should be and I have met both of them.
  17. Thanks Swimi, I think I have you narrowed down to a couple of people. The answer was me trying to be funny like you Swimi.
  18. No on the picking apart, because you can have your opinion. Just wandering how you can form your opinion if you have no ties. And NO, she wasn't to upset when she found out I was dating a man.
  19. Just a simple yes or no to the questions, but you seem to avoid answering.
  20. Swamisays, Just how close are you to the Riverdale program? Do you attend most practices or have a kid that has gone through the program?
  21. You can not compare Rankin and Aydelott. One coach built Riverdale into a power house, the other is taking it to an average team.
  22. Right now it seems everybody is going to the read option spread type offense. And right now it is hard to stop. But you still have to have the players and all the other examples Fredsamuel listed.
  23. that was before everyone was passing the ball all over the field. you didn't have to score a ton of points to keep up with a Maryville.
  24. Wing-t teams aren't putting up 80 plus points in championship games, because they aren't making it to the championship games in 6A. Hendersonville had a good season, but probably would not be there on the other side of the bracket. Why is it that the wing-t isn't ran by more big colleges and NFL teams.
  25. If that is all you can do, it is easy for a defense to load the box and stop. A team must be able to be more than one dimensional to win championships. Your odds go up when you can mix it up a little. Look at Oakland, even though they are not a wing-t team, they had no passing game. Most wing-t teams are not good at passing.
