With this new coach not one knows if DB will play a whole game ....  

"All eyes on me " - I can only imagine what he will be thinking on that sideline his first game 

A scrimmage is a scrimmage... I'm sure both teams were without players !

I know for DB their starting QB was out and several other starters ! 

With this new coach I don't know what he showed on the field at the scrimmage .... only game time will anyone Know !

But I do know DBs offense will score on Greenville more than most may think ! DBs offense is stout .  They have some great runners and a QB with a good arm ! 

I just think it will be closer than most think this time around ! 

It can happen ! DB will be tough  and after speaking with a Coach / Assistant at DB and getting the    " we should be good " quote verse the same Coach  the previous year " Ah , we should be alright " ....  and about the new Coach he smiled and said " you  will see " !!!

Senior RB  Hicks will run over people again this year and the 240lb junior running back at DB is going to be special to watch the next two years .... he is a freak !

No one has any idea who'll coach them.  All 3 schools that will be consolidated into it have gotten new coaches within the past 2 years and the word on the street is that they'll look to an outsider.  The facilities will be shiny and new, but the pay in Sullivan County's not the best so I wouldn't expect a huge name.  This will probably be the first head coaching job for a young up and comer or they'll hire a retiree from a successful SWVa school to keep the seat warm for a few years.  Whoever is hired is going to have a hard time bringing in his own assistant coaches as Sullivan County cuts positions to save money.

I don't expect a lot of success out of the gate because of the competition in 6A (Dobyns-Bennett, Science Hill, Maryville, Morristown West, Farragut, and Hardin Valley will probably be conference games!) and because consolidated schools like this are hard to build overnight due to no alumni network, booster club, tradition, or school spirit.  The football programs in all 3 of the schools it's replacing are bleeding numbers and support from where they were at just a few years ago and they don't have any outstanding talent.  I do think the school will attract some athletes who would have gone to Dobyns-Bennett and Tennessee High, though.

One thing that's not being discussed is that this will effect East, too, as about 200-300 kids from Central get rezoned for East and possibly bump them up a classification in the next redistricting.

I agree somewhat , but the atheletes coming up ( in colonial heights) right now are great and Qbs aswell ! But it all depends on playing together due to the combining ! Don't know much on the rules here but I wonder if they will be able to practice longer / earlier the spring before they open and the big question is will these kids have to drive to west ridge from all 3 schools just to practice in the spring .... tryouts will be interesting and sad for some kids !!

Will this be a 5a or 6a High School in Sullivan County , Or should we say Kingsport ?

Hefty group of players coming through Colinial Heights middle right now , I think they went undefeated ?! I know they have had some great teams the last several years .... 2020 will put them as juniors and seniors ...Could be a great team but how in the Heck do you bring all these kids together to play ball (3 high schools to one ) so quickly , probably a lot of battling for positions  .... and who might the coaches be ???  Graham Clark lol

I think the staduim will  look like Death Valley (Sullivan south ) because of position amongst the valley they are planning on putting it !

Will be an interesting next few years to figure and sort out everything !! 

Kingsport has plenty of money and I'm sure could have got about anyone who applied for the job .... But It was Christian the whole time  !

Cant wait for this New high school to open ... "New excitement " for football in Kingsport area (Colinial Heights 7th and 8th graders last year were no joke and Big Boys with some great talent ) 

I'm not really a King but I did just pass this info on the "Search " to a family member that passed it on to the Wife (best friends) of one of the Best high school coaches  in the country ( 2 years ago #1 nationally - team) ..... He knows coaches all over the country !!

 there are way more better coaches out there  If they really do stick to "National" than anyone mentioned on this thread !! 

You can jump borders to GA and pick up some big time coaches / coaching assistants under some """top ranked nationally Teams""" ... 

Story I heard was of a coach in GA that Graham was speaking with and visiting .. yeah Graham might be gone but he will be mixed in some way !!

Just like Graham said after the game last Friday coming out at halftime "we planned on spreading the field and run run run to melt that clock and put it in the hands of our D to stop them" - His words basically!!  It happens in to many games . 

DB wins 52- 31 !! And If it Happens and SH wins , then your talking possibly the game to see in the whole state next Friday !!

 The Band is a big part of DB football at Home but this time of year is when the Band starts missing Friday nights - What Friday's will they not be playing if Football continues to win?? Yeah yeah I'm a Football fan but any DB fan knows how quite a game is without the Band there (if I'm not mistaking it's normally 2nd weekend in Nov that they are in Indy )

I will criticize until Graham solves the D back problems ... Yes they have shown up a little better this year but just like in years past "it takes one good receiver to beat DB" ...... I believe DB could hang with anyone in the state because I don't see many teams stopping the O "right now" . Graham said prior to tonight's game on the radio "this is the best we have looked , great practices , everyone is healthy and playing " ... The weather Gods have been nice to Graham this year .... We fans know what happens when it gets really cold 

As healthy as DB is now and if they can play the whole game ... they "could " play with anyone !! I would put the O line up against anyone in the state.... and the Junior RB is just strong , 287 yards last week and 205 tonight ...  if they can just end a game without the other team scoring several ( but the refs have sucked as of recent , great for the team loosing though )... onside kick tonight lol

 DBs defense as of late has always been the question !! I believe the O will have some big plays and if the D has done any work in the offseason (doubt it) - like learn fundamentals from a "coach" , then DB will be much improved (doubt it) ... but just like the past several SC games (Graham pulls out his magic brain  and plays for the win) - some of his best coaching games have been against SC and if he can pull out one of those games against the Green Devils ... well it might be interesting !!

I don't see this being a blow out by any means ... 

I have seen Graham twice driving that ole Marron truck in the last week ..... once driving past the house and once walking into the store on the corner of Fort Henry and Eastman road . I thought to myself " Maybe he is stalking all his haters on here or maybe he is out finding prospects 🤔" .... I really think he was just "LOST" 😆🤗

Agree with you both ... driving will be dangerous and Sports don't matter in Kingsport - very sad !!

Our own Kingsport Leaders are a joke ... I guess they don't remember DB education being ranked among the best and sports being great at the same time ....I think this is called High School and if Kingsport don't care about sports(which they don't ) then make it a "Band School " because thats all they are about anyway !!

Thank goodness we will have some excitement in 3 years if this New School gets built ... we will have a chance to see new sports in Kingsport and they can't base everything off of History !!

GS helped as much as Clark allowed him too , it's Clarks field and his way !!!!

There is a lot of talent at DB , a lot walking the hallways . Several players quit , several players leave - talent would be on the field if popularity and not liking change was not such a big part of Grahams game ! The problem is is that Graham is not involved like he should be and is too comfortable with the ones he has been around for years .... that's called change and he don't like it !!! What has to be done is wiping out some people and building the city leagues . Boys club - they have to bring back the long Saturdays at the Boys club where there would be games from 9 am till 9 pm ... its managed horrible down there and something has to be done and a Coach like Clark is not helping the matter one bit (it's freaking sad ) .... get out and allow someone to come in and revamp football from peewee to high school and get the middle schools on tract with DB !!! Look at what soccer built , look what Ryan has done with baseball , wrestling is on its way up , softball, (the darn Band) <~ tired of hearing about them ....Until certain people grow some and starts getting these people that don't know crap about sports out of the City and School syestem - it will always be the same!! Clark , yeah great #s , great coach for the kids , but he is terrible With change and communication with coaches !!! It's sad when you get on a football thread and other teams are asking " is the band coming " - I guess it's because they are great !!!!!!!

I disagree, the talent level is not there right now. You can call it coaching all you want but to say their record would have been 9-1 is laughable. It would not have mattered who would have been coaching this past season, they may should won one, maybe two more games. You could see some improvements at times but overall the skill set is just not very high right now. GS worked with corners and safeties at D-B, that's all he did. He did the best he could with what he had to work with.

Your correct and the Bentley thing is correct - nothing better to do than follow around a nice expensive tinted window car ....

GS would be a great add to staff , heck probably better just taken over this mess of a staff .. I just think it would be in DB best interest to stick him on staff , allow him to teach his postions and not allow Graham to decide how he coaches ... Also we need to keep his boy in Kingsport because from what I have heard he is one heck of QB at his age already (calling plays etc. ) !!!

Looks like BS to me. Arrested for riding a motorcycle on the back wheel when he was a rookie in the NFL. I guess that's a little worse than j-walking. Arrested by a Kingsport cop trying to make national news. The charges were dropped in the Kingsport case I believe. He was pulled over for driving a Bentley in the wrong neighborhood. "No I'm not kidding". As far as the"unpublished" thing goes I couldn't tell you. It's "unpublished" so nobody knows what that is. "GS" is a great guy and has done a lot for the youth in Kingsport and continues to. "GS" has never coached at the high school level but I would bet the farm he could walk in and do a better job than anyone on DB's staff right now. That's including every coach. Heck I could go to the boys club and find a better coach for defense.

Go get Rush Propst from Moultrie Ga !!! The coach that was on TV - show called "two -a days " , practicing , playing for a championship !!

Has one several state championships in BAMA and Ga , a national championship as well in 2015 ?! $

Looks as if their going forward with this new high school . 1700 students from South , North and 50% + Central ! If they can get the right coach , this could be Great for football (both north and south have had some great years as of recent ) . I know it's still in the process , but come Monday and if voted yes , then 3 years they said they will have complete !!

Perhaps those wanting to see anyone with the initials GS coaching at DB, should look into arrest histories. Then look deeper into unpublished info.

I know he would make a huge deference in the complete development in these DBs and Safety's - it's one of the major changes DB needs on their Football team to even think about winning any of these tough games next year !

I heard "if true" that someone (GS) is hoping to coach the D backs next year and turned in his resume ... They would be stupid not allow him or possibly allow him to get away ! Has Anyone else heard this ?
