  1. Last years defense also had #53 out for this game too, who was turning into the player he is now when he got hurt at Camden. I think this is going to be a close one, but Fairview will pull it out.
  2. Definitely could be one of those games where whoever has the ball last will most likely win. I think by looking at scores both teams can put up some points. So I think best defense will be the difference.
  3. Too soon to start the “Fairview/Waverly” thread! Lol i think 2019 was the last time Fairview won the region. This year’s Seniors have never won a playoff game. It will be a long week waiting for this one!
  4. Fairview 39 Sycamore 3 Region Championship game next week at Waverly
  5. My picks: Waverly White House (I know nothing about Westmoreland) Fairview Stewart County
  6. Agree. And after looking at a "mock" re-classification list put out yesterday, this could be a final match up for a region championship for these two teams. Waverly will drop back down, and White House will move back up. Being a fan who has followed Fairview and high school football consistently for 10+ years, they both were great additions to this region to make it more competitive for sure! Although I suspect Fairview will still play Waverly, as we did before they were in our region, I do not suspect we would schedule White House as a non-region game, simply due to the travel. It is just a little farther than the trip to Waverly, but lots more traffic on a Friday afternoon! LOL!
  7. I know I would love to see one of those we lost from last year play again! LOL Seriously they were just a good group of kids. I know this years group of Seniors would love to get a win, not only for themselves, but the teammates they were on the field with them last year during the loss! I had forgotten about the TD called back last year. Makes me re-live that loss a little harder. If Claxton and Grant get going Friday, I agree they could have 5 TD’s between them. I am so excited about this game Friday!
  8. This was actually posted on another thread regarding Region 6 - it had all the teams, but I thought I would just post the teams on this thread. There are at least 2 on the Fairview side I can think of, #17 and #18, that both played a lot last year, when not injured. I think this list consists of the ones that maybe started all year, except for #34 and # 53 whose seasons ended at Camden last year. But gives perspective for this week for sure! Fairview: RETURNS #11 Layden Grant #34 Crawford Claxton #27 Kendrick Curtis #44 Nolan Langford #77 Connor Farris #55 Ethan Hamilton #66 Chance Carter #53 Cade Johns LOSES #20 Jacob Clevenger #23 Kennedy Pendergass #6 Morgan Jean #32 Jonathan Perkerson #50 Sam Hammon #58 Cole Warden White House: RETURNS #29 Rhys Blackburn #45 Luke Kelton #44 Josh Underwood #77 Riley Eaton #53 Christian Mejia #75 Parker Hollinsworth LOSES #9 Ranen Blackburn #10 Pierce Scholato #6 Reece McAfee #8 Amarion Lucas #2 Bryson Harper #76 Spencer Noah #52 Chris Johnson #64 Cade Holiday #62 John Gilbert #34 Montrell Black #33 Nathan Seipp #82 Austin Beeson #5 Matthew Miller
  9. Fairview is disciplined, but have not proved to be a first half team against good opponents thus far. Had they played the first half against Westview as they did the second half - the ending of that game would have been very different. If they can come out and forget what happened in this game last year, I feel they can handle business. We all will know by 10:00 p.m. Friday night! LOL!
  10. I feel this is a spot on scoring prediction.
  11. Not being familiar with what players some of these schools graduated, I think you could put those top 3 any where in the top 3 and it would be a good start for a pre-season prediction.
  12. Fairview I think is better than last years team, but at times lack discipline when it comes to penalities. I fear this will cost us a close game at some point.
  13. Both these teams look different from last year, but feel this will be a good enough match up to deserve its own thread!
  14. Pretty spot on in this assessment for sure. Slow starts seem to plague Fairview more years than not too. I was at Westview, 100% should have never come down to 1 play. Like you this years team is better than last, I think in part these Seniors have more experience than last years, and that only helps a team. I do fear many of them playing both sides of the ball could hurt us deep in the playoffs, mostly because if we get a season ending injury, not sure how deep we can go at some of those positions. I too look forward to the Waverly match up. I think this will be our next test, and we should win the next 3 prior to getting to them.
  15. I know. But I am not a "football" stat kind of person either. Other sports I can handle, but my kid played a position where he literally had 2 jobs, and the only stats he could rack up were negative - like a bad snap! If there is a stat line for that, especially if they factor in when it happens when you don't need it to happen - he would have won Mr. Football at that! LOL! Having said that, I read them, but never have put to memory even when not having a kid in the program.
  16. Checking unapproved website (not sure how accurate that is), Total yards was 648????
  17. Probably mine at some point too! LOL! Welcome back!
  18. Did not realize they were a Thursday night game too. This was played at Stewart?
  19. For future reference, no radio broadcast, and not sure about the Youtube anymore since our person at the high school who ran that program retires. Like most schools, you can sign up for NFHS to watch - or supposed to be able o do that now.
