First of all, I would like to say that I am a parent and not a student. I graduated from McEwen, and my children are students there now. I am very proud of the season that our guys had this year. No, I am not proud of the way that it ended for us, but that is life. I was at the game last night, and "yes" the EH student section did chant "Baby" several times when our guy finally walked off to the bench after lying on the floor for what seemed like an "eternity" to a parent. I was praying that he was going to be able to get up and walk off the floor. Then when he did, and we all breathed a sigh of relief, EH starts their chant. At first, I was stunned, then I was just mad. What ever happened to clapping for the hurt player when he is able to get up and continue? I can't believe that you fail to see how rude and classless that is. As for the McEwen student kicking the cheerleader's car, your post was the first that I have heard of that. If it is true, I absolutely agree that ( to put it in a nice way), he needs his rear end kicked. What I hope that you realize, is that there is a bad apple in every bunch. You could ask any one of my children or any one who knows me and they would tell you that if I ever heard one of my children behaving in that way, they would not be able to sit down today or this time next week. We try to teach our kids to have respect for one another and for other people's property. We are very very proud of our team. Daniel Puckett is not a 9 point wonder (like one of the EH fans said). Look at his stats and you will know. There is a reason why he was nominated "Mr. Basketball" and you know it. He is a great guy and a great basketball player. We were just out gunned last night. I don't understand why it is that some people think that just because we are from a small town and choose to raise our families in rural areas that we are "rednecks" or "hicks". Do you not think that some of us also have college degrees and own our own business? Did it ever occur to you that we some of the McEwen parents and fans are also doctors, nurses, engineers, etc? You say that we should not be so sensitive, but I tell you, that is a little hard to do when we read your posts. We are very very proud of our kids. Just because we do not have the kind of money that you have and are not able to send our children to a private school, we feel that you look down on us. We may not have championship football team, or basketball team, but we are proud. I think that the number of people we have in the stands at our games should speak for itself. We will never have the high dollar facilities that the private schools have. We simply have kids that want to play sports because they love the game. They work very hard, and we are very proud of them. You may not think that your posts (especially State Champ 05) bite, but believe me they do. You have a lot of growing up to do. I am sure that your mother would be so proud. You really should reread your posts and ask yourself if that is really the way that someone who attends a Christian school wants to come across to others. If you are really truthful with yourself, I think that you would agree that it is not.
