What does McGavocks entire coaching staff have to do with the Overton Job?

Like it said at the bottom genius would they want to come to Overton if Gore got the job or who would he bring with him or does gore only keep the current Overton staff... I was mentioning the coaches that overton could possible get.

I'm not From Tennessee but I have lived here for over 20 years since I met my wife and she is from Clarksville, I'm just wondering why isn't Clarksville football really respected or talked highly of. I live in the Metro Nashville area and I hear coaches speak down of Clarksville football, I hear it's cause the lack of community involvement in some schools, the ability to get coaches in the building which leads to administration working with coaches, and the stipends . Is all this true and is there possibly a change coming soon?

I always wondered has anyone ever been in that situation and how did it go if the players from the school you are trying to leave found out you Are applying else where but u end up not getting the job.

The kids don't believe in him anymore as it is, so this will be a tough one. I heard every on their staff is applying or trying to leave there as well, wonder why tho they had a great staff... Moreno (DC) guy from DCA , jackobik guy that was a college coach and had the Cheathtam County job, terry hemontoler, young guy from Stratford that is good offensive mind Stewart and pearl Cohn db coach Simpson both ex Cumberland players and a lb coach from mt pleasant bridges. If Gore got it who would go with him and could they even go with Overton staff still probably going to remain

Well a couple of the kids workout with this trainer and he told me they Campbell was mentioned by UGO, north, and king and a couple others

And good assistants don't always make good head coaches. Gore has only 1 winning season and that was with Broomes senior group. The kids he has had since being there hasn't won a playoff game neither better yet won't 15 games in three years (14-18)

Run I don't think you can go wrong with either one but Campbell is already in the building and the kids are asking for him to be the coach they love him. And I agree with you on handling it, I think you call him and offer it to him of he except then the interview process doesn't matter

15NCSHe Is a great coach maybe not as much success as adoylott but let's be real there is nt many teams around here thy had been loaded with talent like this Hillsboro teams were. And half those kids were at Hillsboro cause mose Phillips got them there and the zone changed giving them overtons main players as well. And adoylott didn't do anything at riverdale with them. So let's not make him sound like BEAR BRYANT

I'm not denying he is a good guy but I just don't get it smh.... I don't think he is a better hire than Campbell or Adeylott

Beefy - hahaha Steve is an Overton alum and has been an assistant at Overton in the past. I know he was a finalist for the CR job when parks was hired. Steve is a really good assistant coach and has coordinator experience I think as a DC. I know Anderson really thought a lot of Steve. The one knock on him is that he has been at several schools and really hasn't stayed anywhere for a long period of time.

I think it's between him and Gore.

I had recap to find that out!!!!! Lol but why is gore so high up there over. I understand Williams cause he is an Overton guy but what has gore done that catches people eye when they have been mediocre at best at Mcgavock

I figured out who Work was mentioning.... What makes Steve the best candidate for the job? And is it only because of his overton ties?

The interviews will be be a formality and the new coach will already be known by the powers that be. Most jobs are that way and should be.. An interview 20-30 minutes long should not or can not determine who is the best coach for the job. I believe coaches have been talked to and I personally believe that is how it should be to get the best coach. The main man who is making the decision knows who he wants and one of the coaches interviewing will know the interview is just a process.

I agree Run that's how is use to be and in this case I feel like that is how this one would end. Out of all the names mentioned who do you feel is best fit there

He is a good guy I don't think he deserves the Overton job but maybe he needs a change of scenery because his reign at mcgavock is almost over. The kids are there but you won't be able to tell until the program is under the right system and leadership

Don't think fbboys. Many good names being thrown around. However this job is wide open for the most part. One front runner if he wants it but he is not RA. Everyone else better hope for interview and then better be impressive. Including RA.

Work give us a hint or some info on some of the applicants

Less pressure to win even though Overton will push to compete. The heat to win up there and community probably took a toll on him

Desperate please.... I don't know who You think I am but I'm obviously not.. I'm just stating facts. Ron must be ur friend. Anyone else gets that team and they perform they way they did and didn't win a title they would butchered. And all honesty the rezoning of Overton kids is what helped him succeed in Hillsboro so take the bitter with the sweet

Or it could not be a good hire. Inheriting one of the best teams in TN and to continuously perform under expectations is a killer.... Mind you this was before the rezoning of Murfreesboro so save those excuses...

Campbell is the only successful one of the three but yet he is left out i dont understand.. and why would hut his e leave to be an assistant to antioch when he was asked to apply for the head job and he didnt cause he liked overton. what other names have you heard?

My thoughts as well, have ppl not notice the downfall of HL since he left as well as how strong they were under his guidance. He is a great coach and cares extremely about his players. He was a great DC in the 90s at stratford when they dominated teams now he cant even get a shot at this one? its really mind blowing to hear this because he doesnt fit the oveton way
