  1. In 2A, if anybody wins it out of the top half there can be no question as to who is the best.  If you have to beat York or McMinn Central, Gibson County, Huntingdon   or Summertown just to get to Gatlinburg Pittman (barring an upset) to win it?!  That’s crazy.

Would give anything to be in 3A versus 2A this year.

I hate when people say a certain whistle or play cost them the game. In the case of Westview they won by 2. Had the other team made any of the 3 pt shots they missed they would have beaten Westview. All of those plays cost them too. Not just the supposed bad call at the end.

I agree, the post said Westview won the title in a landslide.  They didn’t, in actuality a whistle DID decide the game.  IF York hit one more 3 or IF Westview hit one more it wouldn’t have mattered.  IF is fantasy, one whistle wasn’t fantasy and did matter.  Either way it wasn’t a landslide.  It was the decision of someone not in a uniform.

GC will definitely be pre-season #1 and will be in the driver's seat for sure in that alignment. When it's said and done in 2024, hopefully GC & WV can continue or finish their business up at the Glass House.

Can’t say you are wrong, GC definitely a favorite, but McMinn Central doesn’t have a Sr.  Gat-Pitt only had one Sr who played much.

All 3 are prohibitive favorites going into next season right now.

Macon lost only 2 games to non 8AA teams Ensworth and Westmoreland

York, Macon, LA, and Upperman combined lost a grand total of 8 games to teams outside of 8AA and all of them played tough competition all year long.

8AA, after watching that entire tournament, very arguably had 3 of top 5 AA teams in the state.

Macon has a swarming defensive press. We will see how well they transition back in the half court.  At the same time Gregory is a tough matchup for Grainger or for anyone for that matter. They’ve beaten the best team in the tournament in Blackman and the best team in the state in Upperman so they are battle tested.  Grainger won’t surprise them with their length or athleticism nor will Macon be intimidated by Grainger. Should be a dandy.

That’s the most amazing thing I’ve seen these last two days, Macon press has killed teams.  We played them multiple times this year and their press wasn’t a factor.  They started out pressing the first 2,3 or 4 possessions and then pulled it off cause it wasn’t turning us over.

Can’t throw long or soft, high passes against it.  Ball fake high and split it and go.  Got to be able to beat it off the dribble and look opposite over the top.  Not hard but seems to be Rubik’s cube for their opponents the last 2 days.

Macon should be careful.  Third game in 3 days playing 5 kids.  They press very much and may gas a couple of their own out.

Grainger looks to be able to play tough man D, which you have to against Macon, and they all look very well conditioned.

We’ve not played anyone as good as she is in AA this year. At least on our schedule. But Bearden and Maryville have a couple that are extremely good. Did the PG for Meigs surprise you any with her skill level?

Stone gets the absolute max out of what she has, just physically limited.

I would say both teams don’t play there best game, but nerves definitely had a lot to do with it. But both teams played good defense. I’m just glad my lady Tigers showed that they belong there and could play with any team there, they just drawled a really good team.

Great season for your seniors, they earned it!  How did Harrison stack up against the rest you played this season?

When COVID happened evidently...I'm almost positive the coaches meeting is virtual as well so instead of doing a draw virtual then they went this route. I think once COVID protocols are out then they are going back to the draw

Alright, I guess that makes sense.  Its irrelevant at this point anyway.  Got to win Saturday before it matters.

Official statement from Athletic Director, Terry Crain: WCHS has placed priority on our student athletes’ families. Therefore, the allotted tickets were given to our players.
CHS has informed us that they will be selling tickets at the door to CHS athletes’ family/household members. We appreciate your continued support of Warrior Athletics.

Looks like no White County fans other than players families will be able to attend Tuesday night. I wasn't going to attend anyway, but just thought I'd share this official statement.

Every home team is going to limit tickets to visitors these Covid days.  It sucks, but it is what it is imo.  If you are the home team it’s great, if you are visiting it’s awful.

Personally, if Governor says no restrictions....TSSAA should follow his lead.

Did you pull out all of the private school teams from the enrollment list? After removing all this teams There are a few team's Jackson Co., Union City, Mt.Pleasant, and Decatur Riverside might remain in Single-A basketball.

Jackson County shouldn’t, 425 enrollment... cutoff between AA and A will or should be in the 375-385 range.  And yes the privates are taken out.

I personally don’t think they’ll have York & Monterey in with Oneida & Wartburg.  Geographically it makes sense, but York & Monterey are Central Time, Oneida & Wartburg are Eastern Time.  I think it may be York, Cannon Co, Smith Co, Watertown (currently in 8AA) and Monterey & Jackson Co (currently in 6A.... but who knows what they’ll do??? It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out.  If any of those aren’t included in a district together it’ll probably be Watertown imo.

They were all playing for 2nd place. Macon is the juggernaut.

I don’t think Upperman our Westview either one could beat Macon, Nolensville would’ve been an upset, but wouldn’t have shocked me at all.  They had a couple matchups that could’ve caused Macon problems.  Still think Macon would’ve won, but Nolensville was probably the closest thing to beating them left imo.

  14. Never seen Westview until yesterday. Was expecting a juggernaut.... they were a far cry from that.  All I’ve heard all year is how next level defensively Westview was.  All I saw was a base 2/3 that jumps every pass.  Grainger zone offense was awful, no movement, no screens, no nothing really and they had a shot to win the game.  Westview and Upperman is a toss up.  Harrison may get 20 but she will face a kid that will not let her drive straight to the rim and will stay in front of her I believe. I’m no Upperman fan in any way, I detest the Bees.  But they will give Westview problems that evidently nobody in West TN can from what I saw yesterday.

Do they always play that 2/3?  They are certainly aggressive but a solid couple guards, especially a  team that dribble penetrates will cause them problems from what they showed yesterday.

Just heard Tournament is “postponed”..... this situation is completely insane.

i just wish the kids from Westview and Upperman could’ve played.... would’ve been a great game.

I’m shocked how all this has transpired in less than 48 hrs!!!
