This matter will be concluded on Wednesday night and the debate will be over. There has been a lot of outrage with continued success of a select few private schools and although I'm a fan of the competition and really do not want a split, the playing field has been tilted. With the increased emphasis of private schools developing AAU programs to be more competitive, those players and parents will naturally be drawn to those around them. Those AAU coaches are allowed to contact the select top tier athletes and invite them to the open gyms, which in my opinion creates a competitive advantage for privates that does not exist with most public schools. Is this recruiting?? According to TSSAA, no. The only way to rectify it is a complete split. The next battle will be open enrollment and Magnets. It will take a while for that one to fester.

Didn't see any of the games, but if you tried to play Bell man to man without doubling up on her when she got the ball, then, sorry, it's a mistake by the coaching staff. You have to make the rest of the team beat you. There are very few players in the state, if any, that can contain her. No wonder Dyersburg was down 15 early if they started out man. I'm sure Creekwood went to her early and often. Match up zone, with lots of help, triangle and two, and hope the other girls on the team have an off night, which sounds like the case in the Fulton game. Congratulations to all teams for making it to the State Tournament.

Just got home from the game and have lots of questions of why Cheatham stayed in a man to man defense and didn't try to protect their big guy inside and why I never saw a screen set on offense. It was obvious those kids were very talented, but were unprepared for the game. CPA has ran the same 3/4 defense for quite some time and I know its good, but as quick and as well as Cheatham handles the ball, well, nobody was moving without the ball. Any thoughts? Would it have made a difference? A lesser Spring Hill team cut it to 4 mid way through the fourth quarter last year using an extended zone. And Saunders was completely taken out of the game in the first half, should have set some screens for him. No way is that game supposed to be that lopsided!

C'mon guys!! The game is almost here. Let's agree and disagree about who comes out on top and the match ups of the game! Both teams are deserving of that, it's been a long road getting here, and by that I mean lots of travel, practice, and late nights. Good Luck! To both teams! See you all at the game.

I think that we all agree that Cheatham is not very deep. They will have to stay out of foul trouble and deliver one of their best performances of the season to win. With that being said, I saw CPA struggle at home against Spring Hill last year, w/Lindsey, pulling away from them late in the game, so anything is possible. I think the key for CC to pull off the upset is to stay close. In order to do that they will have to hit some key shots, minimize CPA's runs and take care of the basketball. The leaders on the team will have to stay disciplined and not get caught up in the emotion of the game. Cheatham's coach will have to make key adjustments during the game to help his team. If it happens it will be one heck of a basketball game and one you won't want to miss. I have a lot of mixed emotions about this one and really don't want either of these teams eliminated. I will definitely be in attendance Monday night. fifamaster, it's best to keep your posts to debating opinions and leave out personal attacks. I have learned from past experiences that you will not gain anyone's respect(if that's something your concerned about) on the board with those comments.

Should be pretty exciting in 12AA, CPA is very young as well. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but the team has a lot of freshman and a couple of eighth graders.

No matter which side you're on or even if you're neutral you will leave yourself open for attack, get your feelings hurt, respond inappropriately and post threads you will ultimately regret. It happened to me, in a seperarte thread last year, on the same subject. Like others, it ended up me being called out as someone hiding behind a screen name. I offered to meet anyone anytime and discuss all of the accusations that were posted on that thread, of which nobody took me up on my offer. Everyone has a right to their opinion. The point on this thread is moot and does not accomplish anything except keeping it stirred up. My dad, who is no longer with us, told me if I didn't have anything good to say don't say anything at all. If you believe in God then you must believe in Satan, who seems to have an active role in this thread. I truly believe everyone on this thread is a good person so pray about it and let it go.
