Pickett and Clay played tonight in two 7inning double headers. 1st game went well with #3 picking up the win. He gave up 4 hits and set batter after batter down. Then #87 came in for the save. He had good stuff aswell 5-2 final score! Pickett took the Win. 2nd game #10 started for Pickett and it was a hitters match up. Clay broke out in the second inning scoring 5 runs, but Pickett came right back with it, then Pickett had another break out inning hitting a few doubles and a home run from one kid. It was 12-6 going into the top of the seventh, and Clay had bases loaded. #10 gave up a grand slam to their 9 hitter making it 12-10. #3 from the 1st game came back in and struck out the next 2 hitters to end the game. Pickett won 12-10. They are now 3-1 in the district.

It dosent matter who you play and who you beat or lose to in baseball! Just because a team is AA or AAA dose not mean they have better pitching, it just means they are a bigger school body. Any team can beat any other team on any giving day. What helps is to have experience and good team chemistry. Clarkrange is a great young team that has 3 good freshman players. Every win they have has been earned. You can't take that from them.

I'm glad to see him, York, and clarkrange all doing good! I've been around most of them boys and watched them play for awhile! Even tho I wish Monterey was doing better! Looper is a great coach, he just dosent have any talent this year I guess. Once a wildcat always a wildcat!

He threw 84-87 at the tech camp and tusculum show case. Plus if I'm not mistaking he tore his ACL in his push off leg in football, so I'm sure he is still rebuilding from that. Injuries do take time my friend.

Roger Webb clocked the Pickett boy at 81 to 82 in the 3rd inning on Friday againts Onedia. Pickett had 8 errors on the game and gave up 3 earned runs. I didn't see any of the games on Saturday due to work, but the boy from Onedia, number 13 that pitched threw around the 80's and so did the boy from Pickett according to Webb's radar gun.

In district play standings goes as is 1.) Clay County 3-1 2.) Clarkrange 4-2 3.) Jackson County 2-2 3.) Pickett County 1-1 5.) Monterey 0-4 Clay has a half game lead on clarkrange and Pickett and Jackson are tied in 3rd winning .500 of their games in district. Monterey is last due to their 0-4 record. Pickett vs Clay County Tuesday in a DH. Jackson vs Monterey Monday and Tuesday. Clarkrange Bye week. Clarkrange classic starts Friday!

Pickett gets #7 back to pitching around tourney time, he will help them go deep! Throws high 70's to 80 mph. Pickett should be tough around that time. I heard something about another transfer to Pickett, but I didn't see him on the field last night, could just be a rumor

I got to catch the Jackson vs Pickett double header tonight! The first game went 7-1 behind #3 Haley pitching a complete game! Not many errors on either team happened that game, but Jackson tried to play a little small ball! The center fielder #7 made a couple good diving catches in one inning and #1 had a double play to end the game. Pickett rallied in the last inning to score 6 runs to win it, starting with #3 hitting a 2rbi single up the middle! Watching #3 Haley, he seemed like he wasn't throwing like he normaly does, but he still only gave up 1 run and very few hits. Game 2 Jackson took a 10-3 win with #10 starting for Pickett on the mound. Pickett scored first in the first inning, but JC center fielder hit a lead off triple and scored then another guy scored. The 3rd inning got rough for #10 giving up 3 runs in that one inning, so the coach put #3 Haley back into pitch the rest of the game. He ended up giving up 3 earned runs that I seen on the night, and played great on the field! Jackson hit the ball well at points but had many problems fielding in the 2nd game! Pickett did aswell though! Jackson bunted the ball for a hit 4 or 5 times and played a lot of small ball! I think the umps were a little bad, but 2 good games! Looks like Pickett will be getting stronger as the year goes on at this point! Aswell as Jackson co. Field looked amazing also!

Didn't play, they have a double header at Jackson tomorrow, first game at 5!

Pickett plays Jackson Monday and Tuesday, I guess we will see if Jackson will be at the top of the district or not. I believe for them to win first they will have to beat Pickett both games! I still have Pickett winning first and second between Jackson clarkrange or clay, they are all pretty even

Both picketts games have been canceled this week from my understanding!

I don't know the coach in Pickett County, but I'm sure their is some reason why he only has 17 games scheduled. And did any district games play tonight, and did Pickett and Monterey play last night?

District goes as Clay County (1-0) Jackson (1-1) Clarkrange (1-1) Monterey (0-1) Pickett (0-0) I don't know an outcome on the 2nd game of Monterey and clay county, and Pickett had the bye. Pickett vs Monterey Clarkrange vs Clay County Is next week matchups in district
