  1. Open zone is a joke, essentially private school recruiting...notice maryville fans always shy away from the open zone topic lol

And Maryville's little red headed half brother fans too.

Imagine if Williamson county had an open zone policy.  With all the talent in that county they would have 4-5 of the top teams in the state......oh wait, they all ready do.

  2. Where you go after high school has less to do with where you went to school than it does with who you are as a person and what you're made of.  If you think that a private education replaces character and proper upbringing you are mistaken, I see it every day.

You are making a stupid assumption that private school students do not have "character and proper upbringing".  How many hours of community service does your beloved little town school require their students to perform throughout the school year?  Our school requires the students to complete 60 hours of community service a year while several students log over 200 hours.  Go tell the local Children's home here that the 20 students who host a monthly party (kids idea, not the schools) for them do not have "character" due to their un-proper upbringing.

  3. It is without a doubt that private schools have advantages, but lets not forget our advantages over them.  Privates are like men with out a country.  A temporary home inside another's land.  Our advantage is community, a private school has no real sense of community.  After school or the game they go to their separate homes or communities until the next day. In a small public school we go to school and play besides the same blood that our grandaddys went to school and played with.  There is nothing like the bond of true community.  I feel sorry for those privates that win the gold ball because they will never know what it is like to win as an entire community.  Heck even losing big games as a true community is preferable to winning as strangers wearing the same color.

Keep telling yourself that. Do 95+% of your small town school go to college after they graduate?  Don't feel sorry for the private school students.  They are not living for their glorious high school days, they are preparing themselves to be successful in the real world after college.

  4. I will elaborate, but I'm inclined to wait until Friday to do so here. While I doubt the Alcoa coaches lurk about on this place looking for information on injury reports for lowly opponents like CAK, I'm reluctant to take the chance that something I say here early in the week might find its way to Tornado coaches and assist in any way, however slight, in preparing for personnel or formations they're likely to see on Friday night. Remind me later in the week and I'll give you a more detailed rundown when it's too late to matter to Alcoa coaches. At this point, my general assessment is there's some positive news injury-wise, and some negative. The Warriors who are healthy enough to play better prepare themselves to play on both sides of the ball and grind out every play until the horn blows and if they do, they have a chance to give the Tornadoes a challenge. My gut tells me this game is likely to be more competitive than the regular season encounter.

Take the hockey way out.........they are day to day with upper body and lower body injuries.

  5. Most play club ball, but not all. Their best player last year, Jenny Roy did not as she was also a basketball star and now plays hoops for Belmont. I am 99% sure their outstanding libero this year did not play club last year and I think even the year before that. I also don't think their DS played club last year. But again, most of their girls do play club. Brentwood is a destination program right now whether they are moving in or getting grandfathered in. There is an amazing amount of talent in the freshman class. They are going to be real good for a while longer.

Agreed.  I know 3 families who are looking to move into the Brentwood district because of the school and the volleyball program.  All of the girls in those families are outstanding players for their respected clubs.  They are current middle school players looking to get in the system.

  6. BGA is selected to win Friday night per KNS:

Battle Ground Academy (5-1) at Webb (3-3), 7 p.m., 10News2: This is a rematch of last season’s Division II-A state championship game, which Webb won 38-21. Both teams are coming off tough losses. The Spartans’ run-game fizzled in a 20-14 loss to Donelson Christian Academy last week, and BGA was limited to a season-low seven points against Davidson Academy. Webb will have to fix inconsistencies in the ground game in a hurry to nix the impact of BGA quarterback Clay Beathard, the brother of Iowa starting QB C.J. Beathard.

PrepXtra Pick: BGA 25, Webb 16

Clay is also the younger brother of Tucker Beathard, former BGA QB and current artist/songwriter for Big Machine record.  He's on tour with Maddie and Tae and played NYC two night ago and Boston last night.  He's already opened for Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryant, Thomas Rhett and many more.  He'll be in Knoxville on 10/15 so go check him out Webb peeps.  Talented kid from a talented family.

    Let's go Wildcats

  7. I agree, don't want to take away DA's play but that has got to be one of the worst game performances I have seen from BGA. I think they had around six turnovers. Clay was off and since they are small at the line positions couldn't get the run game going. Just a bad night overall. They can reel it in with a good game against Webb, I think. Looks as though FRA may be the team to beat. They have been playing well so far. Going to be interesting to see how everything plays out.

BGA is not built for bad weather......add to that a good opponent like DA and that was a recipe disaster.   The Webb/BGA game should be a good one.

FRA:  Do you think this is the year that little brother finally beats big brother?  FRA circles the calendar for every game in every sport against BGA.

  8. That the best you got sissy girl Chad? You might need to stick with the girls soccer message board cause you can't hang in a Real sport called FOOTBALL!

I must owe you a lot of rent money for staying in your head all the time like I do.

If you have to stalk my family and me on Facebook to see what I drive, how I live, and figure out my name......then I have won. You have dedicated a whole lot of your time on me and I love it.

Next time you stalk me on FB (which I'm sure you've saved as a favorite) leave a message like a real man would, not hiding on a football message board.
