Yes. We started a special needs league in Murfreesboro 2 years ago at Barfield Park called the M'boro Diamond League. It is a part of the Murfreesboro Baseball Association. We have uniforms, concessions, and play at the 8 field complex along side the other teams in the league.... the idea being to create as much of a typical little league type experience as possible. More info at www.MurfreesboroDiamondLeague.org Since Special Olympics of Tenn does not offer baseball or softball, I tried to get a special needs tourney going in Franklin as part of a BPA Memorial Day tournament, but couldn't find any other teams that wanted to participate (we have an open invitation from BPA to hold games at their tournaments if field space is available). Instead we ended up having a Special Needs Invitational Tournament a Blackman High School. I am glad to know of the Manchester team and will contact them this next year.
