  1. BPM (Big Purple Machine), thank you for clearing that one up. I did go back and read the previous posts and detected that this one gentleman had been very busy playing for all of these schools.. One thing I have learned in life the more attention you give a 'fool' the more required, by ignoring him or her they will soon sail quietly into the sunset. This years Trojan team started out far from being as good as the team of 2013, but they are improving each week. Martin Westview was a good team, but unlike the Crockett game we cut down on our turnovers and played Trojan ball. One of the biggest DHS weaknesses is the pass defense and our quarterback. He is doing better, but everytime he goes back in the pocket to pass I cringe in fear of a interception. I do love the quickness that the Trojans have and last week Westview did not have a answer for the Trojan backfield, those running backs were simply amazing. I have not seen Milan play but I think Dyersburg need to be focusing on Bartlett (in Memphis) this week rather than next week. We cannot afford to lose to anyone the rest of the regular season if we are going to play a game or two at home. The Milan Bulldogs might be the last big test we face during this regular season, however we still need to remember games are won and played on the field. After Milan we still have Ripley and South Gibson at home and neither of those teams are shabby....... I know that in week 10 Crockett County goes to Westview, but I still see Crockett winning, this is base off the performance I saw last week by the Chargers. They could not stop our running game, and supposedly Jones is the 'Best' back in the West. Therefore not much chance of first place ending in a tie....but you can always dream. I don't think I have ever been to Johnny Hale Stadium as many times as I have been through Milan going to Trezevant and McKenzie, I might make this game. Finally, it is good to conversate with people on here who are here for the right reasons, have a bless day my friend.
  2. Correct me if I am wrong but I came to this topic expecting to hear football information about a game even though it is two weeks off. What are you guys discussing who did or did not play football at Milan?
  3. Could happen but highly unlikely Rellim and it is what it is..... if we should lose then I can accept the role of " A Pretender"., you can either roll up your sleeves and continue to fight or lay down and continue to bleed. Yes, the facilities are the best you will find in these parts.......
  4. Be careful on here bragging about those players you have...... you will look up an three or four of them will have moved to Newbern and be Choctaws..... they are still in the recruiting business.... you know
  5. Rellim51 you do know that Westview is playing the varsity not the Trojan 6th grade team. If Westview wins by that much there will be some major breakdowns in the Trojan game plan. I guess that is more like wishful thinking, and I don't blame you for that. I have not seen Huntingdom and do not know much about them based off that fact I believe this will be the best competition that Westiview has faced thus far in 2014. I guess we will all know Saturday morning, how good both teams are, now we are getting into the part of teams schedules that will filter the "Pretenders" from the "Real Deals" .......Goooo Trojans..
  6. I think the week of sitting around praticing against one another and brewing over the recent loss the Black and Gold are going to come out and make things happen the right way. We respect Westview and know they are a good team, however we know we have our destiny in our hands. This team cannot afford to lose again, because that will give us greater odds of not going far in the playoffs. I think the Black and Goal will win by 3 points. The Chargers always find a way to win, but perhaps this might be the toughest competition they have faced this season. Definitely, the toughest they have faced away from the friendly confines of their home field.
  7. Cavalier to your team a great game and nice to see that you are still around after the game, however with your winning there was not much doubt that you would be. I am glad to see that D'burg played tought, and left it all on the field. This is a very young team, so hopefully this game will help to make them better. Trojans keep your heads up and know that there is still a lot of football to be played. Mr. Jones was very impressive however he met a defense this week that was a bit toughter then some of the ones thus far this season. We hurt ourselves with the four turnovers and I mention previously we could not afford to continue to do that especially in important games and against great teams like Crockett. Good Luck the rest of the season Cavaliers and stay focused.
  8. Thank you dhs....kind of boring but (dude) is pretty sharp and I love matching wits. In refrence to wanting scores I can assure you the Crockett faithful will definitely be posting scores, especially if they are winning. I am more of the one who like to sit back watch absorb the results and a day or two later post. I am hoping that should the Trojan win they will be classy about it and hopefully there will be people here to to talk with besides the two of us next week. Found out at lunch that tonight is their homecoming so the Cavalier faithful are geared up for a win..... sure would love to see them silence, but win lose or draw it's only a ball game.
  9. A writer you are in deed, and my writings has only been called acerbic once. This was by a professor way back in the day. Assuming you got a chuckle from that comment and glad YOU were able to enjoy the wit and not take it personal.... The Armageddon (typo left out the d) was classy and yes it was somewhat swanky in a sarcastic way, that's just my swag..... Now I was referring to 'MYself' through my efforts of not wanting to call Mr. Jones skills a show. Personally, I was afraid that you or someone might think if I referred to his performance as a show you would take it as my being demeaning, honestly that was not my intent. I thought perhaps if I fluffed it up by saying 'a exposition of his running/manuevering talent" this perhaps would be more align with being complimentary of his skills and would make me feel less like a sitting duck waiting for you or other Cavs fans to pounce on me.
  10. No WTN., I enjoyed reading it actually printed it off and highlighted some of those names want to check them out tonight in action. I also found it somewhat comical your simplistic judgement of my having a problem with good grammar and writing structure. Looking forward to seeing more of that type sports expertise through-out the sports season. You have a bless day
  11. Not here to debate or to start locker room confusion wtn1964 if that's your opinion. We all have one of those and glad you were able to share it. I am also glad to know that Crockett Cty. has such a arsenal on hand in case you need it and base off your writing I am shocked you have average such a meager 51.3 pts through your first 4 games. Are you the local writer for the newspaper your information was not random you were very detailed and a lot of work went into that. I concur with my fellow posters the best article as of yet posted to represent your beloved Cavaliers. I truly hope that my TROJANS force you to use every weapon at your disposal on tomorrow night. Like anyone I don't like to lose, but I will find great comfort especially now in knowing that if the Trojans take this game to the wire we have with stood the test in the Armagedon of West Tennessee Football. I would much rather lose to a team then a one man show or perhaps I should not call it a show how about a 'exposition of his running/manuevering talent'. Fortunately, no ones season will end on tomorrow night even though one team path to the district championship will become a bit more difficult. I definitely hope that will not be the Trojans fate , however if it is, we still have a long season and a lot can happen. I will let you know Monday rather it was all hype or not.. Know this win or lose Trojans never go away we just reload so we can live to fight another day.
  12. Looking at the Jackson Sun 'Tale of the Tape' on yesterday ..... both teams are close stat wise however. With the Cavs coming out ahead in every catergory. I guess that is why we play the game huh, looks to be a packed house if the weather coorperates and hope both teams leave it all on the field. Crockett County is and should be the favorite however the Trojans relish the "underdog, no respect role". Go Trojans
  13. Very true Cavalier in reference to looking in the past, however I don't think I did that in reference to our teams history. I did refer to an earlier games played this season. I only went there in reference to a fellow poster referring to the Trojans having trouble with Haywood. Only wanted to point out the fact that we did have trouble due in large part to our inconsistent ball handling, however we were able to get it together and come out with that victory. (38 - 18) if I did rest assured it was not intentional. I live in the Real World and Friday night it gonna get REAL.
  14. Glad to see people finally posting.... here, was a bit worried on yesterday. I am not sure what went on with Jackson SouthSide and Crockett County once again that was early in the season and base off the score the Cavs. were clicking on all cylinders. In reference to what Dyersburg has other then a young team, lets say I think the Cavs will know they have been tested after Friday. I like a team like D'burg where one player is not all you hear about Saturday morning win lose or draw.... West Tn., will know that Mr. Jones is not the only good football player in West Tn. I think it might be nice if some of the Crockett County fans found that out too. Not good to hype one player so much, there is not an I or JJ in the word team, a team is a group of individual working TOGETHER for a common goal. I have definitely seen that displayed by the Trojans, especially in the Haywood game where we fumbled ourselves into a 18 point deficit in the first quarter and came back to win 38-18. Not to mention we were the underdog prior to that game also because Haywood was more experienced, bigger, faster and was playing at home.....mmm sound familiar No hating here but Mr. Jones cannot make those openings in the offensive line and run through them all by himself, not even Superman could do that....... There are a lot of other good players on that team lets toot their horn some also. If I were a Cav parent or one of the coaches I think I would have a little something to say about that. Personally, I like to wait until about the 7th or 8th game to start handing out team and player of the year accolades that is when the creme rises to the top and we know the good teams and players from those that are only impersonators.. Yes, he's (JJones) has scored a lot of touchdown and he may score 5 Friday night, but all that matters to the Trojan Nation is that at the end of the night the Trojans are winners. I heard someone say that everyone a few weeks ago gave Milan the odds over Crockett Cty. I figured it would be a closer game, but most of the ones giving Milan the greatest chance of winning was their fans. The following week it was Crockett Cty No. 1 fan ( you know who you are, the one who was born and raised in Crockett Cty)..... this person proclaim you guys as favs. the rest of the season, district champs and etc. Myself and others only warned him/ her about being over zealous.... if the Trojans should lose Friday (which is a remote possibility) I can live with it especially if they leave it all on the field. see you at the ball game.
  15. Sorry getting old sucks missed the one on page two, I acutally thought that was the one from last week mainly focusing on Cavalier's claims to crowning Crockett as the district champ.....(please don't take it personal just a little humor for the board). Yes, recently we have ruled the series, but times are a changing. I hope that we play a very competitive game, and are not intimidated by all of the 'Johnny Jones' hype. I am hoping that the Trojans take this as a challenge and stay focus, we are pretty speedy ourselves and perhaps this is the first time Crockett has faced a team of Dyersburg's caliber. Coach Stowe and crew are studying film close and you can be sure that Coach ????? (can remember his name, his wife use to coach the DHS boys BBall team) will have that defense ready. I did check the Jackson Sun today and the high for Friday is 81 with sunshine and nice and comfortable with the evening temp in the low 60's, looks like good football weather. Yea DHSTennis, Mr. Dawg and mg looks like we are the only ones really interested in the game, I am hoping that the other fans are not waiting until after the game to get on board and gloat ...... No one here bragging we are giving our personal opinions in a very positive way. A person can do that and still have the respect of his or her peers... come on guys gals let's hear some comments....
  16. Surprised to find that a thread for the big game in District 13AA was not already started. Cavalier DHSTennis and others come on guys lets trade info. on what we see happening this week. I have not checked the weather, but hoping for good weather and that both teams leave it all on the field. Let's get this post started, my thoughts are Crockett is loaded as it Dyersburg..... this will be a close game but the team making the fewest errors will win. I got that is a save answer but let me go out a little further and go with the Trojans. Why, because I am a fan and I think they are a bit more dimensional in their attack...... come on fans let's hear or see what you have to say.....
  17. Cavalier, great to know that you will be here throughout the season. I rechecked my post and perhaps I implied you would disappear, but I did not see where I actually said you would be gone. I did request that you stay around win, lose or draw. In the past fans from other teams have jumped on and off the band wagon so many times until it is hard to figure what teams they support. I can definitely understand your excitement, but take it from me I have seen many a good team start out like a tornado beating up competition that was supposedly rated as tough by the 'so called experts', by the end of the season some of these great start-up tornadoes were a 'summer breeze' by November. A lot of times I have learned the experts are not any more knowledgable then some of us couch coaches. The season is young and there are some tough teams in AA especially Westview and I believe Sth. Gibson alone with Haywood are going to have a little to say about who wins this years championship..... Let's have fun play ball and keep it nice and clean on Coach T.
  18. Looks like Coach Ward has you pretty fired up as well Cavalier. Promise me one thing after each game rather CC win or lose you will be here the following week. I have been here for years, but normally only come during Football and basketball seasons after that I am gone. Each year I normally have to log on with a new name each year, however one things I have seen many times people you never on this site their team win a couple of games and their fans declare them 'the greatest". Once they lose a game those fans suddenly dissappear. Win lose or draw I am with my team, and I don't do a lot of boasting I truly believe in playing the game on the field/court. Good luck Cavalier and win lose or draw I will be here throughout the season. I hope that you will do the same because this is the a long season and on any given night anyone can be beaten.
  19. I hope that D'burg continues to play it one game at a time. I would like to see the Trojans work on the center and quarterback excahanges, there were at least two bobbled on Friday that could have been costly, luckily we recovered both. Honestly, I still think it is still early in the season perhaps after next weeks showdown we will have a clearer picture of the teams in all the districts. Everyone expected a closer game between CC and Milan, but a lot of the hoopla about the game stems from past games between the two schools. Include the fact that Milan and their storic tradition and the fact that they were honoring the legend Coach Tucker everyone was really expecting Milan to win. I remember hearing somewhere that Milan was young this season while CC has a more experienced team. Mr. Jones is quite the backm, and other than that I am not sure of what other weapons CC has, however as the season progresses teams will align and be more aware of how to adjust to Mr.JOnes, be careful about overloading that basket with the same egg. Let's just play the game on the field hoping that everyone stays healthy. In time we will all know who has what, but it's still a bit early for anyone to be proclaiming themselves District champions too many games left to be played and too much can happen
  20. This is getting pretty serious b etween the fans, and loving the camaraderie between you guys. On paper it looks like it might be a great game. The season is young and when you look at the competition these two teams have faced based off that information, and the fact this is game is being played in Milan my vote goes with the dogs. Nothing against CC hoping for a good game, but I would much rather have a lost now against two great/good teams than be undefeated and have faced some sub-par competition.
  21. I don't know very much about the Rebels, hoping that we can win big and continue to improve week after week. If this were not the opening week of the new stadium I would probably go to the Crockett Cty. vs Milan game. A lot will be learned after this week we will definitely know who is for real and who is just a pretender.
  22. Glad he's back and hopefully everything will be left in the past.
  23. since my earlier reply I have also seen that is the case with the Haywood Coadh. Not sure what is going on, hopefully this will be resolved and everything can get back on track. I am tired of hearing and seeing cases of teachers and coaches misleading our youth, hopefully this is not one of those cases.
  24. @dhstennis, yes things were looking pretty bad in that first quarter. I was not sure of what was going on, and with our team being so young as loyal as I am it was never my expectation to see them turn it around. I was a beliver by the second score in the third quarter, you could see that the D'burg players were pissed and was not going to be embarassed like this. If they play with that type of focus the rest of the way we are in for a long victorious season. Of course, my Haywood friends attribute their Tomcat lackadaisial performance to the absence of their head coach. I guess some excuse is better than nothing at all huh? Trojans stay focus and lets be ready for this weeks opponent the Rebels of Obion. This will be our first regular season game in our new stadium.
