Easy now. We have a good defense. The offense has improved as the season progressed. We’re Not a bad football team!

I'm glad to see you back on. Has been a while since I've seen you post. If McKenzie is as good as the posters from west TN say then it could be a running clock. 4hr trip just doesn't make a lot sense to me.

The way you spoke about our game vs Tyner, you may as well give us a sideline pass and your playbook. We're not much of a threat. 8-)

 what part are you speaking of? The part where I said Meigs would have to play better? I'm just giving my opinion. Maybe you got me mixed up with one of the Meigs fans saying if you don't change things up it could get ugly or maybe a Tyner fan saying they liked Marion's chances against you.

You could put our playbook on a 3x5 notecard probably. :roflol:

For sure needs to have his name in the Hat, I'd hate to have the job trying to figuring out best or most deserving  kids.Lots of talent on all levels, Character would be a huge part of my choices. Ilove the way the Ganoway kids conducts himself on the field. I think the leadership at Peabody is 2ond to none.

Honestly I don't see anyone beating Simpson out.

Definitely a hard job picking out the best of the best. A lot of deserving young men won't even be mentioned unfortunately.

Definitely feel like tae deserves to be at the table.  The qb/rb has had some dazzling plays and not sure exactly what his numbers are but he has scored on special teams as well as running the ball.  He is also a head hunter on defense when he is out there.  He will be considered one of the all time greats to put on the purple and white.  Any ideas on his numbers?

He's been electric since he was a freshman. His numbers haven't been as great as I thought they would be this year but it's been mainly because of distributing the ball to the other backs. With the emergence of Pickett that's taken away stats too. Just a guess I would say total yardage He's probably between 1,000 to 1,200. 17 TDs that I know of. 99 yd kickoff return for a TD too. Have no idea of defensive stats.

He will be sorely missed next year. Feels like he's been playing 5 or 6 yrs in high school

  6. Watched this game without really being for either team. Maybe pulling a little more for Meigs just to set up a bigger game in 2 weeks, but also pulling for Tyner being the underdog. I can see what Tiger is saying about being predictable. Marion is that way at times and some of our posters do voice their displeasure. A lot has to be said for Meigs to hold their composure in a close game after so many lopsided ones this season.

But having no dog in the fight, Meigs is fortunate to come out of that game with a win. Meigs seniors have been in a lot of big games and that helped them a lot. Tyner is relatively young and just doesn't have that experience yet.

I think Tyner could be a tough out in the playoffs. You can game plan all you want but if you can't cover the entire field and tackle in space it could be a long night.

Some are trying to compare scores with our game with Tyner but that's hard to do. Marion won't spread the field and create one on one's out in space. We line up and run it. If our backs can get to the edge or past the def line, 99% of the time it's over. Hard for me to say how our game will go in 2 weeks but I do think Meigs will have to play better to win. It should be a great game (if we can take care of business this next week.)

He was very rusty, fumbled on his first carry but scored 2 tds.  Looks good running it.  Seemed a little lost on defense though.

Just glad to have another weapon back. A few games and he will be ok.

  8. Red Bank usually has a decent team but falters in the playoffs. Their coach said in the paper that they weren't playing well to start the season but the past few games they've taken it up a notch. That's a big jump in classification for City but I wouldn't worry too much about it in the long run. They'll still be playing long after Red Bank probably

It was a great atmosphere and a wonderful high school football game.  High intensity - high drama - mistakes by both teams and by the refs but with as many dud games both fan bases have had - it was a joy for me at least to see a great game. I wish we could play you again but I don’t see it happening.  We will have our hands absolutely full to try to beat the second place team from region 4 - I don’t buy that those teams are down.  Meigs will have their hands full with Marion for sure.

I will be honest here and not trying to knock your team but I like Marions chances against you.  I think winner of our first round game will travel to Marion in week 2 but we shall see and these games must play out.

I'm glad I went to this one. I thought that Tyner would give Meigs a good game and they sure did. Conversions were a killer for the Rams. If you had the kicker you had a couple years ago you probably win this game. He would have been in range when you got to the 15 and came away with no points. The qb looked good tonight too. He has to use his size on those conversions. Not a knock on him at all but at that size, be more decisive and bully your way into the endzone on short yardage.

Tyner will be a tough draw for a 1st round playoff game for whoever comes out of region 4.

The Rams are going to be stout next year. So many returning starters and get Meigs and Marion at home. This season isn't over but you have to be excited for next year if you're a Tyner fan.
