  1. I'm not sure why the numbers are down this year. They have beaten Fairview though and played pretty good at Camden. A lot of young players this year I believe.
  2. A lot of action on this page since I last checked. I'm just a big Waverly fan and supporter of all it's teams. I didn't mean anything negative towards Hayden. From watching him last season, he seems like a good player and I'm sure will do good at Camden. I was just judging from last season and the Tigers only lost one player. Having seen the Tigers play the other night I don't know where he would have gotten minutes. Waverly has two really good freshmen (Jonathan's younger brother and Coach Tidwell's son). They also have a 6'5" new starter, plus the transfer from Alabama, Taylor Rudolph back healthy and a good transfer from Camden. There are going to be some talented players sitting the bench. But the coach may have figured a way to get Hayden in the lineup. Regardless, it seems things are working out great for Hayden at Camden and I wish him the best of luck. As for my prediction, I will stay with Waverly 1st and Creek Wood 2nd. Waverly looked very good the other night. Also, I do believe Jonathan Smith is the best offensive player in the district. He scores very easily.
  3. How will East Hickman be this year in baseball? Waverly should be loaded and have an outstanding freshmen group coming in along with a couple of big time transfers.
  4. Unfortunately, Waverly is definitely in for another long season this year. They only have about 8 or 9 players on the team right now. Not sure who the good girls teams will be in this district this year. From what I've heard I don't think anyone is really that good this year. What does Lewis County have this year?
  5. Predictions for this year: 1. Waverly 2. Creek Wood 3. Stewart County 4. Hickman County 5 through 9, take your pick between Camden, Mont Central, East Hickman, Fairview & Lewis Co. This is clearly a two team district between Waverly and Creek Wood with either team capable of beating the other. I'll go with Waverly since they beat Creek Wood 3 times last year. Stewart is probably a solid 3rd and Hickman County a dark horse 4th.
  6. He probably will be for Camden, but he wouldn't have seen any playing time for Waverly so that sort of tells you where the two programs are.
  7. I wouldn't read anything into Waverly's first three games at all. They played freshmen and others who haven't had much experience. They only had one returning starter from last year playing and he struggles without the main players on the floor. But now that the ones that were playing football are back playing you better watch out as this team is loaded and once they get back in basketball shape I don't see them getting beat anytime soon. As far depth, they have another player from football, a pretty good freshmen and a transfer from Alabama. All three of those guys can give them some minutes, but it will be mainly the starters carrying the load most likely.
