@The Drunken Sailor. Got any stats ?
#1, #2, #5, and #6 also look decent.
#15 looks pretty comfortable back there and his action is smooth as silk.
Are y'all young?

We've got Dan Marino at quarterback.
Maybe Danny will finally get a ring. Warms the heart.

What do y'all boys have this year?
Any fun guys to watch?
Backs have been historically explosive, but I haven't heard of any Jones/Robinson/Lankford/Frame types.

They won't be able to run the clock until the 2nd half.
Just using the phrase “running clock” to mean you can score 35-42 points in the first quarter.
Not literally the running clock rule. Terrible wording, my bad.

No one said they would lay down but the statement about was that MASE they will have so many flags because it’s Peabody is crazy! Ain’t no hype it’s just facts!
MASE just lines up and play ball and let cards fall where they may!Billy MASE will play a good game against Peabody.
I've had the chance to view some more recent film on both teams, and it looks MASE has hunkered down on some of the issues I saw earlier in the season, and Peabody doesn't look like Tide teams of the past.
I think it's safe to say, though, the west runs though Region 5 and Region 6.
In keeping of my new tradition of walking back MASE takes, I have updated the CEILING to the 4th round where the saga ends against City or McKenzie.
Hats off to the mean Memphis oxyclean team and @WildBill2388 for going to battle for them on the T. I would've never taken a deep look without him.

Add SP and Clay to your pretender list
Go Pirates but it shouldn’t be close for whoever leaves the west.
I just picked the 4 teams I thought had the closest chance of getting a gold ball.
2 west
2 east
Even though I agree that there are multiple teams out west that would drag any of us east boys this year. Crazier things have happened. Being in Chattanooga is a bonus that shouldn’t be overlooked.

I'm gonna keep it pretty cut and dry and hopefully it doesn't prove me an idiot. It probably will.
Contenders:
Fayetteville City
McKenzie
Clay County
South Pittsburg
Pretenders:
Gordy
Coalbucket
Billy MASE

Fully recovered is just not in the cards. Every glimpse of improvement we see is a blessing from above. We take special comfort in functional improvements. One thing for sure, my brother will never give in and never give up. He takes every new battle head on. He loves the PIRATES and will be at every game possible. He hasn't been on here much this year because other things in his life are simply more important, specifically family and friends. He truly appreciates everyone's kind words and continued concerns. All of you have played an important part in his life, whether you know him personally or not.
I hate to hear that. I'll be sure to keep that tough old bird in my prayers.
In the end, we all play for the same team.
As for the game, be sure to dress warm and don't plan to stay long. Running clock in the first quarter if y'all want it. I just hope everybody stays healthy and them Cougar boys leave the field with a little dignity. Maybe we can get things fixed over here.

100% agree! Memphis schools have been labeled as talented but undisciplined (rightly so) for years, but that's not to say that ALL of them are or that enough talent can't overcome discipline. Whitehaven took down Maryville a couple of years despite the widest margin of discipline you'll probably ever see on a football field. Maryville's team was like a well drilled platoon of soldiers, but were comprised of JUCO type kids talentwise...Whitehaven had nine D1 kids on the team and it looked like they were drawing up plays in the dirt...although it was close there was just too much advantage for Quarles to overcome. That's me just playing devil's advocate too...eyewitnesses say that the coach isn't a slouch.
That's what I've heard as well. The games I've been able to review on film are from earlier in the season, the most recent one being Westwood. I'm sure a lot of that stuff is fixed, and I hope so.
Possibly being a quarterfinal team in this years west is in NO WAY a knock on this bunch. LC or Peabody will have to play near perfect football to put them out, but their history of doing so leads me to believe that's what's going to happen.
Fayetteville looks like a different animal. But all of this is just my opinion. We'll know in a few weeks.

Trenton low scores are all about respect. We are talking about teenagers dude. Matchups. We all will find out how good Mase is in due time

Not really sure where I said anything about Trenton's high or low scores.

Y'all like disrespecting Memphis team Red Banks has struggle wins with 1-7 teams why were they even ranked that high to begin with!!!
It seems MASE fans are undisciplined as well.

I went to the game last night and just letting you know MASE will be a problem for Trenton and Lake Co. The speed alone was night was different from anything I have seen this year. I watched Halls play both Trenton and Lake Co and I think MASE will will expose both teams just with the athleticism.
Now I'm not saying that MASE will beat them but man it will be a game to watch. Being a Halls fan, I'm just telling you have I have observed. Halls gave up against Peabody but they tried last night and just could not do anything with MASE. They are a problem
Agree. There's no doubting that they will come to play.

If a team is undisciplined teams don't beat triple option teams. Alignment and Assignment prevails over the refs every time. Refs sometimes throw flags on them to keep the game from getting out of hand took Peabody whole game to get to 43... Mase had 44 in a quarter in a half.
I agree with the principle there because it's true.
However, in this case, the talent gap was so big that it doesn't matter how well you run the veer.
MASE's athleticism is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Lol ok sir I get it you can call holding on every play in football. The BTW game was a hostile environment from the jump! The MASE kids was protecting their teammates for the Bull jive that’s was going on!
BTW didn’t want to play football . They wanted to fight from on set of the game!
BTW had several kids ejected from the game not MASE!
So discipline is not an issue with MASE!
Look. I just analyze the film.
I do it objectively, and to my trained eye, MASE is undisciplined when compared to McKenzie, Peabody, LC, or City.
It's true there is holding on every play, but we teach OL to keep it tight. MASE does not.
BTW isn't the only game I've seen talking and extra curriculars. If another team wants to get chippy, we answer between the whistles and let the refs handle the rest.
MASE OL rock in stance. While it doesn't get called every time, it still suggests that they lack discipline.
All of that is okay. They haven't been together all that long from what I understand, and I'm sure this coach will implement a system and environment in the future if they plan on sticking around and winning big games.

Undisciplined is not a true statement!
How can you tell they undisciplined by watching film . Please tell me sir!
There is a lot of pre-snap movement on the OL.
They run the mouth, or at least participate in running the mouth. BT Washington game is an example and for what it's worth, it appeared that BTW was the aggressor, but MASE still participated.
There is a lot of blatant holding.
These things can't happen against teams that have similar talent and all are telltale signs of a lack of discipline.

Watched some film on Copper Pan.
If North Georgia knows how to tie their own shoes, they should win this game.
We can't even run trap correctly. Or any run play to be honest. Ball carriers all have tunnel vision so they force the ball into alleys that are blocked incorrectly. I can't tell if it's the kids not knowing where to go, or if somebody has taught them to do it this way. Either way, it's concerning.
Expectations are low for this one.

That is the usual knock on the Memphis teams. Going to be fun to see.
Can you think of a time it hasn't been true?
Lots of kids on that team that deserve to play on Saturdays. They probably score 100 points a game, but only 50 count due to penalties.

Pretty good list on the west side. Still thinking MASE could be the stunner. I think they could easily reach the semi's
It's not impossible, but highly unlikely.
I hope they do. I like variety. They just don't look very impressive on film. Athleticism is off the charts, but their fundamentals and discipline are atrocious. They look better than LC on film. They do not look better than Peabody, and all roads end at City or McKenzie.
-
I'm going to have to stick to my guns on this one.
Hopefully for @WildBill2388 I'm wrong. MASE looks to be about the 4th-5th best team in the west.
I've seen a lot more film on them and I don't think they're in the same league with Trenton, McKenzie, or City. That LC 2nd round game will be a good one. I will update their ceiling to 3rd round though. They have energy. Incredibly undisciplined, but energy nonetheless. I like that.

Unfortunately, that is correct. I’ve got $50 that says TheLegend13 is a Grabowski posse burner account. It wouldn’t be the first time.
Truth is, the man didn’t know the difference between a Cover 4 and a Cover 2-Man. He’s a great guy that can see some success at higher classifications, but truly couldn’t understand some of the most important aspects of 1A ball. He took a rather firm approach with alums and insisted on a culture overhaul. He claimed the old way didn’t work. As we can see, the new way most definitely does not work. As a consequence we’ve seen a few years of embarrassment made worse by undue chest thumping. The majority of anything good, creative, or even productive on the field originated from and can be personally attributed to Jeremy Locke, back-channeled advice, and/or the other competent assistants.
I’ve had about enough of the hurt feelings and spectacle that comes with all of this. I feel like a stranger around a program I’ve invested a significant portion of my life to. I rang the warning bells on this fiasco 5 years ago. Either no one listened, or no one cared. I hope I’m never right about something like this ever again.
I wish the best for everyone involved. I just hope that the community understands this for what it is. It was a mistake. Please involve people that know even a little about the game to provide input on future hires. If you’re reading this and you’re from the Basin, you already know who I’m suggesting should be involved in assessing potential hires, if not a potential hire in some capacity himself. God bless.
