I personally think Turner only wanted the job for 1 year when they had a legit shot at a state champ but he blew that. He stayed for 2 and now that the SH girls run is over he wanted no part of it any longer. Whaley is a good guy and he will do just fine there. Wont win anything but he will keep them in top 3 of conf and get to reg every year.

No mention of SH hiring a new coach a couple of weeks ago on here. Are people down on the new coach or feel good about it?

I wouldnt think it is drawing very much interest really. In years past would have been a different story. Im being told the guy that was the 2nd assistant is getting the job.

Sounds like you watched more of Boones games than you did your own Toppers. Im sure they appreciate your support at the gate.

I agree with Topper on Barnwell. I know for 100% certain he will not be coming back to SH. I disagree on Boone. They lost a huge part of the team before the season due to an injury. The best players were freshman and sophmores this year. They will be much better just from graduation. Were they a disappointment this year? Yes. Should the coach be held accountable for that? Yes. He chose to continue to let his seniors control the outcome of the season when they were nothing but a cancer to the team. Should he be replaced? Not yet. Just let this next year play out and I believe everyone will see a huge turnaround.

I dont see any real need for any other teams to make a change other than maybe Central.

SH job is probably the only Big 7 opening for next year. However I have no real connection to know about Volunteer.

I feel pretty close to what you do Topper. SH over Doyle Mo East over Tn High MW by 50+ over Crockett Jeff Co over DB I think Jeff Co just knows how to get it done in postseason.

But if you have talked to people that were there then they should undoubtedly be able to tell you why those particular girls were not in late in the game. But I will give you my stance on the game that you asked for. Crockett out hustled, out coached, out played and wanted to win more than Boone did.

District 1 First Round Boone over Crockett Tn High over Central DB over Volunteer Boone and DB need to be on upset alert however.

I dont really get into the games all that much until post season but I wanted to see the SH-Boone game last night and this what I saw. Science Hill didnt really look to me like a team that would only have 1 conf loss. Dont really have any ball handlers and look fair at best on offense. They do seem to play team defense well. Boone doesnt look like a team at all that would or should have gained a first place vote in preseason. The majority of their players dont even look like they want to be out there playing. The coach looks as if he tries to get them fired up and ready to go but they dont even respond to him. Big girl wasnt even a part of the game. Touched the ball very few times on offense and doesnt go after rebounds at all. They have some athletic girls but just dont seem to be very basketball savvy.

Why is there very little talk about R1 D1 this year. It seems that SH is clearly the best of the district but nobody really even blowing their horn from there as normally do. It seems as DB and Tn High are about equal and what is the deal with Boone?Heard alot about them before season but they seem to be a disappointment just by looking at standings. Anybody have any thoughts or seen any of the games?

Definitely made a wasted trip to Morristown last night. West win 80-32.West looks to be a good team and Boone looks like they are not very good. Boone couldnt get the ball past the West press the majority of the game. Looked totally out of sync.West seems to be the big favorite in the region so far. SH plays at Boone friday night so we will see how that game turns out. Might tell us who is the distant #2 team in R1.

Im making the trip down to Morristown or the West/Boone game. If this is supposed to be the two best teams in the region it should be a good game. I will try to post updates during the game.

It looks like this week will tell us alot as far as D1 and Reg 1 goes. Boone plays both WWest and SH this week.

Didnt make it to any of the games this week but sounded like South Greene throttled Boone and I saw the SH scores from yesterday. Anybody see any of these games and have any info about them? Thanks.

I know games get started this week with Boone hosting South Greene tomorrow night and SH plays this week also but not sure against who and what day. I will probably try to catch the game tomorrow and maybe some more this week. Anybody have any ino on any of the games?

Seems odd to see someone putting SH all the way down in the middle of the conf. I actually ran into a guy today at lunch and his daughter plays for Boone. He kind of said same thing as you are saying Topper. He said he thought Boone could win the conf but thought it could be a 3 to 4 team race. He did say that Boone had several players back but would also have to have help from their 9th and 10th graders. And apparently, they did have a freshman that is a really special player but is gonna be out for the year now with some sort of injury. If anyone knows when the jamboree is I would like to go check it out?
