You give Hampshire no shot to beat Culleoka?
Any chance MtP upsets CA?
It's Tournament Time and there are no guarantees.

Next week will be a busy week for the district. Cully/SF and Richland/MtP. A lot can be decided. Not sure any of these teams compete with 9A. CA will make one more push for a state title in D1. Summertown/Loretto maybe the only chance to keep CA from Murfreesboro again.
McKenzie and West Carroll in Region 6A will give Summertown and Loretto some tough games. McKenzie has the pieces to make a post season run. The Region 5A & 6A State Sectional match-ups will be tough game for all involved for sure.
Loretto is young this year... I don't know what happen in our game this year but a 28 point win was not expected.
I believe the top 2 teams in 10A should advance to the 2nd round of the Region 5 tournament. 3rd place in 10A depending on who it is could even have a shot against 9A's 2nd place team. I believe East Robinson will finish 1st in 9A.

10A Standings as of 1/28/19
- Richland 5-1 , 14-8 *Has head-2-head tiebreaker over MtP

- Santa Fe 3-4, 5-14
- Hampshire 0-7, 1-20
- Columbia Academy 0-0, 19-4

Did they do the same with the game in December?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion on this subject. Saying make believe champion.. who says we won regular season championship anyways. It is all about the tournament.
That was in reference to one coach that did boast about being Co-Regular Season Champions last year. But agree totally that the regular season doesn't mean much other than getting your team ready for the post season.
7 hours ago, thenomad said:I was mistaken. With CA playing the 4 seed I assumed they were 5th. Did not pay attention to matchups.
All teams seem to be young in this district. Many play several sophomores. Interesting to see how they perform with out CA in district next season. Unfortunately this district will be very week in comparison to surrounding districts (8A and 12A).
MtP's main talent class is Junior heavy so next year should be a good year for them.
Santa Fe is Soph & Freshman heavy and could have a big year for the school in 2020 & 2021 post seasons.
Richland has a couple good Sophomores too.
I don't know much about Cully's up coming kids beside the Sophomore post player.
Fortunately they won't have to worry about Loretto and Summertown until the State Sectionals. The Region partner District 9A only has four teams and in the recent years it's been East Robertson and McEwen making noise out of there.
But still with or without CA the Maury County schools are competing in Class A against public schools that are double & triple in size of theirs. Hard to compete year in and year out against that.

another good win by Eagleville at home. Where is the district tournament held this year?
-
This is for those that may have not seen Carson Cary play. Short video clip of the above mentioned Carson Cary.
Against all levels of teams this year to include: #1 DII-A Goodpasture, AAA - Knoxville Catholic, AAA - Columbia Central x2, AA - Marshall County, #1 A Eagleville x2, #5 A Fayetteville, Union City, McKenzie, Loretto, Alabama AAAAA Madison Academy,
-
AP #1 Eagleville & #5 Fayetteville play tonight for the out right #1 spot of District 8A.

If I'm not mistaken, CA will be given the 5th spot in the tournament. I'm pretty sure that is what happened last year. CA is head and shoulders above this district.
Last year CA was a #6 in both girls and boys.
The way they had the tournament bracketed was:
#1 - 1st Round Bye
#2 - 1st Round Bye
#3 Hosted #5 1st Round
#4 Hosted #6 1st Round
#1 plays winner of #3 & #5
#2 plays winner of #4 & #6
Try to rap your head around that bracket layout.... set up to make sure CA doesn't keep your top 3 teams from making the Region AND keeps the #6 seed CA from eliminating their "make-believe" #1 regular season champion.

If both teams are at full strength I still give Fayetteville the edge in this one.

Just wanted you guys to know I voted Manassas this week. Once again no information sent from the Commercial Appeal or any other Memphis AP members and none of them even bothered to vote themselves! The rest of the voters across the state would vote for Dist. 15 teams if encouraged to by media who'd seen them. As stated before, without info from Memphis media we have to depend on CoachT SOS and it's not that high for either Manassas or BTW. That's why the "eye test" is important and we depend on Memphis media for that. SOOOOOO, blame your local media, not the rest of us. We're doing our best.
you are definitely doing your research. Wish more did.

I'll be curious how many teams add CA to the schedule next season since it is a "close game" and not a district opponent. Most of them play Zion and Riverside Christian now. Be interesting to see.
Hopefully none! But in the future I'd like to see CA vs MtP once a year maybe.

Clay County and Humboldt are the two best teams in Class A this year. Polls mean nothing it will all be settled on the floor.
What would you say was Clay County's signature wins this season that would make them a Top 2 team in the state to you? Asking because I don't know the East TN teams as well as I do the Middle and West teams.
I know Humboldt has signature wins over Sacred Heart of Jesus, Haywood and Peabody.

Glad you were able to come and watch the game. They're exciting to watch, and frustrating too! Tell me again who you pull for? I personally thought we could have put the game out of reach several times and Eagleville fought hard to stay in it. By the same token, Eagleville couldn't close the deal and put us away. Will make for an interesting second half of the season!

* updated post. I totally missed it live but yes it happened with a minute to :30 left in the game.
I was there straight across from their student section and did not hear them chanting anything like that. I'm sure some where saying it or thinking it but I never heard a chant. Both sides were doing the normal chants all night.
