  1. My son played for coach Cash for two years before we moved to Camden. Coach Cash is a good coach and treats the kids fairly and with respect. I wish my son still played for him. After moving to Camden he gave up baseball because the coach is a complete jerk and isn't respected by the players. You should be proud to have someone like coach Cash he will teach them baseball and how to conduct themselves after baseball.

  2. District Scoreboard

    (according to CoachT)

    Stewart County - 63

    Montgomery Central - 42

    Creekwood - 87

    Lewis County - 42

    Camden - 62

    Hickman County - 60

    Waverly - 68

    East Hickman - 30

All games as expected last night. The Camden game was a little closer than I would've thought but I guess with the leading scorer only playing at half speed and the point guard not playing at all that translates into a close game. The other players all stepped up big time and helped carry the load. Friday night will be tough playing Waverly and being shorthanded.

  3. I would just like to thank all of the 11AA coaches and players for one thing. We have a young man in our community who is a regular in the Special Olympics. He also is a manager for our football and varsity basketball teams. He dresses on the JV basketball team. He gets some playing minutes during the games. He'll walk and double dribble often. He camps on the 3 point line and fires up rainmaker 3's pretty much every time he touches the ball. He's a great young man from a great family here in town. His classmates and our community just love him. He's hit several big time 3's from downtown this season. To see his face light up afterwards is simply amazing. Opposing JV coaches and players have been very classy and cooperative in letting this young man be a part of the game. Even the refs tend to ignore his violations. I just want to say thank you to all of the 11AA players, coaches, and fans for letting this young man be just like his peers who get to play the great game of HS basketball.

Thats what high school sports is all about, not just winning and losing

  4. CreekWood 12-0

    Waverly       10-2

    Camden        8-4

    MC                8-4

    Hickman       7-5

    Stewart         5-6

    Lewis            2-11

    EH                1-11

    Fairview        0-10

Looks like 3 through 5 could come down to the last game

  5. We're taking our lumps, for sure. We have 1 Sr. and 1 Jr. We hope to be a little more competitive the next couple of years.

Camden has a couple of seniors but should be better next year after they have played together and gained that valuable experience

  6. Don't count out our boys in Camden just yet.  Still a long season ahead with about 14-15 district games left.

I am a big Camden fan but I think a realistic goal for this years team is a 3rd place finish. They are young and inexperienced with very little depth. They will definitely only get better as the year goes on but next year they have the potential to be a top team in the district.

  7. Wonder since Hayden is a lock down defender who he will guard an December 5th I am assuming smith. That will be a true test if he can hold him from getting his shots off.

I haven't seen anyone shut Smith down he is a great scorer. You just have to hope to contain him and try to limit his touches and uncontested looks. Should be a fun match up to watch if they get matched up together

  8. I judge Trotter every time I see his teams play...one of, if not the best coach in the state. The fact that he came home to coach when i know there are better paying jobs says even more about him as a person. I am even old enough to remember when he played for his Dad..You guys are lucky to have him

I agree and it should be a great season of basketball with some intense games along the way

  9. Please don't judge Les Trotter based by what one of us old timers say! We don't know Les would or wouldn't had done. I'm sure Hayden would had gotten playing time. He is a great player and have great defensive play. Every team needs a defensive player off the bench. Wavoh8er, idk what your problem is but you are saying what you are based on your biased toward Waverly whatever it may be. Who do you even represent other than "Alcoa"? Depending on how long it is til Waverly plays Creek Wood rather or not it will be a blow out or close game. Waverly players are still transitioning to the hardwood. If one of those 6-Footers that were mentioned was Jordan Hughey don't expect to see much of him. I will be very surprised if he is on the squad in February. I hate it if you do not like that point but the fact is he is in a bad situation which ultimately leads to issues for him. Don't come at me about spreading somebody personal life. Idc whose feelings it hurts so save it. Hopefully Waverly will be transitioned well before the Creek Wood game. If they are not Waverly may have a situation! Go Tigers

The Waverly Creekwood games should be great games. Those are two talented teams who seem to play hard for their coach. Should be fun to watch.

  10. Camden should take care of business tonight against Huntingdon as long as Vick and Stanford continue to get their shots and put up numbers like they did against West Carroll. Waverly has their football boys back tonight but shouldn't need them against Houston County. What other games are being played with district teams tonight?
