  1. yea, not so much. Faceguarding your transfer when she's not worthy of being faceguarded is just cheap. She had the crowd completely against her (her supposed friends) and any coach watching film of the Summertown team knows that all you have to do is play defense on her and she's not any more a threat than the other 4 on the floor. What I saw was a game plan to not let 'her' beat them. Granted, The Summertown team didn't show up or even attempt to shoot anything like the few games I've seen of them previous to this, so I wish it had been a better game than it was. I even sat on the Lewis Co side and wish I hadn't. Cheap is what it was.
  2. Yost definitely changes the makeup of the Forrest team. Made for a good second matchup and even though Summertown led most of the second half, you were never sure who was going to pull it out. If Summertown can get firing on all cylinders, they have 5 consistent 3-pt shooters and 3 posts they can almost swap out for each other. That makes for a well rounded (And hard to defend) game. Just haven't seen them put it all together in one game, yet.
  3. Yea, I think the foul was after the buzzer. Prob the right call. Now just say good game and leave the floor. Don't taunt the crowd like you owned your opponent. You played good. Leave with some class.
  4. Great game on both sides. Less class showed by one when the girls cleared the floor, but we've learned to expect that by now...
  5. Lol you are assuming I'm as blind as you to both sides. I'm not pulling for either team, I just like good ball. If you think Summertown isn't going to be a concern for you in coming years, you're as ignorant as most of the posts in this forum. Does that mean PC will be easy for them? Not at all. But it will make for some good ball.
  6. I saw no drubbing until the Summertown coach started trying to find a player who could get a hot hand. They simply did not shoot the ball. 3rd quarter saw almost none of the starters on the floor for more than a few plays. What I did see, as I have seen all season with Perry co's coach, were starters pressing with 5 min left in the game and a 15+ point lead. Don't get me wrong, it's her perogative, but dang...karma can be a b$&@%. If I were the S'town coach, I think my starters would never come out for the next 3 years while those freshmen get a little payback.
  7. Well at least tonight we won't have to watch starters of an eliminated team leave the floor at the buzzer without going through the good game line. The good Wayne Co team has more class.
  8. No doubt all for D12A teams will be contenders against D11A, and I fully expect to see Loretto and/or Perry Co in the finals (now that the under-estimation of #5 & #6 is over)...but you play defense like Frank Hughes or Summertown have been playing and they're not out of the picture. Hate to see D12A beat each other up for the Region Title, but it should make for some good games, now that the #1 and #2 seeds realize that it's not a shoe-in. Imagine if Loretto OR PC had won last night. that would have set FH OR Summertown up for a shot at the Regional Title game without facing either Loretto or PC. THAT would have been interesting.
  9. I'm not sure what having a #5 & #6 team in the championship has to do with 'strength' of the district. Strength of spirit? Sure. End of season equality, maybe. But just because the final result in the district is not expected, doesn't say anything about how weak or strong the district is.
  10. Agreed. they are definitely fun to watch. If they can time their train-wreck quarters right, they can win big. Lots of talent on that team. Will be interesting to see how the next 3-4 years works out for them.
  11. Summertown girls just beat Collinwood 44-32.
  12. Summertown lost 38-55 to Houston Co. But were only down by 3 at end of 3rd and down by 6 with 4 min left. Big girls for Houston Co are a force. Summertown started 4 freshmen and a junior. Not so sure this will be 'just' a learning year, they're gonna compete.
