You didn’t answer my question. On what grounds would they sue?

I have spoken to multiple TSSAA officials across the state and there have been discussions and it is well within their jurisdiction to do so.

Actually, it is not in their jurisdiction. The lock downs themselves are unconstitutional. Period! If you or anyone else don't understand this then you are a slave to the system.

I am hearing that teams are already starting to cancel and postpone games.  I hope for the kids sake that there will be a season, but my gut is telling me no.  My prediction is that TSSAA will let football finish up and then shut down the winter sports.  We all know that everything revolves around that sport.  Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Is this virus real? Yes! Does it kill people? Yes! However you have a  99.86% chance of survival. The flu is as dangerous as this virus. First is was about flattening the curve. Then it was about wearing mask and social distancing. That was all to stop the hospitals being overrun, which they were not. This is no more a pandemic than I am a whale. Basketball needs to be played PERIOD!  Folks you better fight for your freedom because there coming for it ALL.

Gerally, I avoid trying to reason with folks who use the term "libs" and buy into every nonsense right wing conspiracy, but I'll give it one shot. I'm not sure why, though.

First, AP is a perfectly fine news source. Plus, the info is verifiable in almost innumerable sources. Facebook isn't a source I used, to my knowledge, nor do I get information from there.

Next, the "media" is a vague term encompassing a lot of different groups. But, if you think they control the governments of the world and events to the point of creating this panic all on their own, you are a complete and utter fool.

Obama got less flak because he acted quickly and didn't make this about himself, nor call it a "Republican hoax". Why H1N1 wasn't deemed as dangerous as Covid19? Ask the CDC or WHO. It's important enough to them to make these recommendations and that's newsworthy. It's also newsworthy that Trump has dropped the ball, this far.

Also, keep in mind this is early in the process, so comparing numbers is fruitless. This isn't the same as the swine flu.

In an event, I'm sure you'll get your retorts from your Fox News sources and Trump bubble. But, he's going on, what over 15,000 lies and misleading statements, that I'm not sure you are aware of truths and facts anymore.

It still sucks the kids can't play.

    Have at it, guys.

First of all, the msm as a whole is controlled by only a handful of people and that includes the AP. There is no real journalism left in the msm. Period! It’s all controlled content to the public. Russia gate is just one example of that. Secondly, this whole Coronavirus is a bunch of bull. If you look at the CDC’s #’s on the flu last year and compare that with the early #’s on Coronavirus #’s you’ll find out that the flu is more dangerous to everyday Americans than the Coronavirus is. So why is there so much panic. I personally think it’s all political and that’s my take on it. I could be wrong in the end but only time will tell. Hope you try and educate yourself with facts in the future.

  4.  Congrats to Maryville and Joe Anderson on the win last night. Maryville shot the ball good and we didn’t. Plus our defense was average at best last night. As I had said before this Maryville team has a chance to make some noise in 3AAA. As for Alcoa it was a disappointing performance and we still have not figured out a few things. I’ll just leave it at that. Good luck to Maryville the rest of the way.

You don’t know me then. My son is a JR at Maryville College lol

My bad thought you was someone else. Lol! For the game is was a good one but the referee's didn't let the players get in any flow. That was very disappointing. Congrats to Maryville they made the plays when it counted. Can't wait to see the rematch...

Looking forward to the game. I agree, it should be SRO.  Come by and say hello. It would be nice to meet you.

Lol! I like to stay a little behind the scenes because I can be too honest sometimes. If you know what I mean. I'm pretty sure I know who you are and good luck to your son tonight. However not to much luck because I do want my Tornadoes to get the W.

  7.  Alcoa vs Maryville tomorrow night. This game should be closer than last years games. Alcoa is a lot more talented than last year and the coach has done some good things. However the point guard play needs to be settled. We have one true point guard and the last 3 games he has not started and we have feel behind early the last 3 games. We are 1-2 the last 3 so only time will tell. I expect a packed house and if we play up to our potential it will be a dandy. See you Maryville folks tomorrow night.

Yeah man, I heard some of the Alcoa players were still doing football. Any players out that could have made difference?

Well we had 2 kids that will be starters that come out this Monday. Cam Burden and Isiah Cox will start for this team. Burden is 6’2 post player that scored 30 in the state tournament last year for Sevier County. He’s very athletic and should be a huge help. Isaiah Cox is 6’3 long, athletic and can play multiple positions. We also have another guard that’s very good defensively that should help us. This team will look totally different by years end as long as the point guard gets healthy. We won’t know the status of him until next Tuesday. With a full roster this team could be really really good.

Livingston goes to Upperman Friday night. UHS at Smith Tuesday and then York comes to UHS the next Friday. That will tell you a bit about the district. UHS then heads to Alcoa before traveling to Florida to play.

The Alcoa game tomorrow will be interesting. We are short 2 starters and a bench player due to football. If we had those players I would feel pretty good but without them we will have to play our best game of the year to win. I expect both of these teams will make it to Murfreesboro come late February. Who knows this could be a preview of a state tournament game?

  10.   Congrats to my Alcoa Tornadoes on beating AE tonight. It looks like the new coach was the right hire. We are still short 3 players and 2 starters at that and we are 2-0 in the district. When we get our team complete watch out. This team once complete will be very good and will be able to compete with anyone.  Turtle where you at? What do you think of the new coach now?

Just watching from afar, but I don't think Maryville chokes games away. Due to some players joining the team late because they also play football, it takes time for the team to build chemistry. However, in my opinion, this Rebel team will not be as good as last year's team.

I hate to say this but Farragut maybe the team to beat in that District. I hated Farragut when I was in high school in the early 1980's and don't like them much now :-D

This will not surprise anybody but I believe Oak Ridge has somehow managed to put together a very fine team and is as good as the Admirals.

I believe this Maryville team will be better than last years. Maryville will win their district and have a very good chance to get to the state tournament.

  12.  District games kick off tonight and Tuesday. Alcoa plays at Kingston Tonight and AE plays Scott County on Tuesday.  Fulton vs Kingston on Tuesday as well. This next week should give us some kind of ideal how this district might play out. This district will be wide open this year. Thoughts??

I believe Science Hill will be down this year. Dobyns Bennett will be the team to beat especially when they get the football players back. Tennessee High looked good had some size inside. Crockett starting 5 is pretty good #23 has improved be a lot better then last year especially when the football players gets their legs going. My prediction 1. Dobyns Bennett 2.Tennessee High 3. Daniel Boone 4. David Crockett 5. Science Hill 6.Cherokee7. Volunteer

If Science Hill finishes 5th in that district then it will be one of the toughest districts in the state. IMO.. They would finish no worse than 3rd in district 4 AAA from what I’ve  seen. Maryville plays DB on Saturday so that should give us a little indication on the two districts even though things will change for both teams when the footballers come back.

I saw the Tornadoes this summer at Maryville College‘s team camp. Alcoa has a legitimate shot at winning 4AA. Toughest team in the region are the toughest teams in your district. Good luck this season.

Alcoa will be a much improved team by January compared to last years team. District 4AA is going to be really interesting this year. Alcoa, Kingston, and Scott County should be better and I don't think AE or Fulton will be as good as they have been the last couple of years.

Catholic should be one of the favorites in DII. I'd be shocked if they don't make it in the final four.

Season tips off this week. With the football playoffs in the quarterfinals it’s time for hoops. I know the KOC jamboree is Monday and Tuesday. Karns plays South Doyle on Monday as well. Catholic plays at rival CAK on Thursday and plays host to The Christ School from Arden (NC) on Saturday. What are some opening week matchups locally?

Alcoa plays Farragut on Thursday night and West Greene on Saturday. Hope we can get some wins before our footballers get back. We only have 8 players at the moment and should have 5-6 more once football is over.
