I bet you Trenton schedules us again next season too!

Peabody needs competition in their schedule.  They’d be crazy not to schedule you all again.  Plus there was great sportsmanship.   That goes a long way.  We’ve had hard times finding teams to play us.  I’m glad we got y’all on the schedule, and that’s not because we won.  It’s because Westview made us earn that win and kept us fighting until the last 2 seconds.  We need games like those, and boy did y’all give it to us last night!  Great game indeed for both teams!

Westview home field can hold 7500 that’ll be nice to see

Quite true, but it’s technically a contracted space through UTM.  Not that I blame you at all. It’s a nice facility and the contract is probably much cheaper than having Westview build their own similar facility.  Granted Peabody has played on that turf field before……. All in all I’d be curious how the game would’ve gone on UTM’s field.

Regardless, it was a hard fought battle with no one giving up.  Great game Westview.  Best of luck to Simpson and all his key players! I didn’t catch all their names.  They’re going places though.

  3. Many prayers for Waverly and all those still missing and those who lost their lives.   That’s super tough. 2020 and 2021 can’t stop.  I know the coaches had a close call while trying to track down players and check on things.   The schools, football fields, and field house are heavily damaged.  I send many prayers for the misplaced families, misplaced athletes, misplaced students  and misplaced homes and community in general.   It will take time to rebuild.  Prayers for the Tigers community!

Has been huh? Recruiting season??  Did that make you feel better?  I mention your on the clock and you start hurling insults. Lol. Your too easy to troll. You shouldn’t take the bait. I think most of the regular Peabody posters on here know I have all the respect in the world for Peabody and cheer for them when we don’t play them.  In fact I know several of the players and coaches personally. They are all very humble and gracious people. You should try it some time.

I haven’t posted this much this past season, but BPM you have mad respect from me! You can accept the banter.  Dish it and take it too.  That makes the T fun! Best of luck to Milan minus the week we play y’all.  Lol

Respect to Milan, you guys will have a good year.. plenty of athletes. We may have graduated key guys, but we have a stingy defense and young speedsters. Good luck to the dawgs the rest of the way. Stadium is beautiful

I do agree.  The field and stadium are top notch! I know it was long overdue.  Milan keep on pushing! You guys have a good team.

its this year. not 3 years. you guys sound liek th manning people in 1997

Have you not said you’ve had health issues lately?  Karma is something else I tell ya.   What if these were your kids? You know they read these boards.   Have you no shame? Grow up!  You’re more petty than most kids in high school.  I will never understand how a grown man could come on here to tear kids down the way you do.  I’m going to hope you don’t have kids yourself.  I can only imagine how you would tear them down and pick a part every thing they’ve ever done.  I doubt they’d ever be good enough for you.  Pretty sad if you think about it.  I pray God somehow touches your heart of stone this Holiday Season.  Merry Christmas!

You're judging a player that earned Mr. Football over his three year start because of two games that you just so happened to watch because your team lost. What you don't know is the injuries he has overcome & was playing with when you watched those two games. He's the leader of that team & only threw 1 interception ALL season up until the playoffs when he injured his shoulder. He typically doesn't play defense but did for a few of the playoff games & gave Peabody a chance against Fairley with a huge interception with a banged up shoulder. Ask anyone from the Peabody faithful how tough he is & if he was deserving of Mr. Football. You don't need to speak on teams or kids you know nothing about.

+1   you summed Cooper up well.  He is well deserving of the award.  You summed up the playoffs well in how there wasn't quite the showing as normal for him.  It goes beyond the playing field when taking a finalist into consideration though.  Cooper volunteers his time on Saturdays so often.  He's spent many a Saturdays with kids with Down syndrome.  Many of the players have.  They go out with them for lunch...  a movie... You name it.  They've showed out for Gibson County.  These kids are all about the community.  Thank you for speaking up for Cooper!    Teams have to change things up come playoffs.  You have to keep the other teams guessing not even considering those nagging injuries.

    For you Region 7 boys!

Who is the favorite next yr?

    Gibson ?

    McKenzie ?

    UC ?

    The Ville?

    Halls ?

    Trenton ?

Don’t bite my head off but I don’t see Trenton reloading like they did this yr.

You underestimate the Peabody Coaches.....      Unlike most teams who lose a strong Senior class which we undoubtedly do....  our younger class men have had lots of playing time since for the most part, Peabody’s only had to play the first half.   We wont be the force we were this year.....  but that doesn’t mean we fall flat!

  9. That’s crazy the cut they get.  Especially for small schools like Meigs and Peabody.  It looks like Meigs is even bigger than Peabody.  Both teams traveled well though and should enjoy a bigger piece of the pie than the TSSAA!  I know the expense of the large buses and hotel rooms for both teams are huge bills.

Swafford is the real deal.  A stud on the field who never quits, and great young man.  I look forward to seeing him play at Navy.

Does anyone have the game stats?  Like the box score or whatever?

Except for the moment Dickson nails Swafford.  It’s like Swafford hit a brick wall.  There’s a video on FB of that moment.  Swafford has to see stars after that hit.    Once we started utilizing Dickson in the second half, there was no stopping us.   Dickson is hard to take down to say the least.  He earned that MVP award! Not trying to take anything away from Swafford by any means, he doesn’t get the recognition he gets for no reason.    I think our guys had his number to keep him limited.

A friend of mine had his UT flags on his brand new car set on fire back in the late 90's at Alabama. The melted polyester of the flag was all over the doors. Some UT fans had their vehicles' glass broken or tires slashed. I'm sure some Alabama fans have had something similar happen to their vehicles in Knoxville.

I just never understood why someone would do that. Football - or any sport - is for entertainment. It's not life or death, and it won't have any effect on the important things.

Couldn’t agree more! Prayers for an injury free game today.

  12. Just a quick plug for one of our boys....  The Jackson Sun put out a good article yesterday on how tough he is.   Hammonds broke 7 bones in his right hand during last years state game.  This wasn’t confirmed until the next day when it was X-rayed. He only missed 2 series and still made big plays.   Talk about tough!

It was a rough morning after a late night partying with them Knox Central folks. Now it's time to do it again. A lot of Greenback, Alcoa and Central fans hanging around to help cheer on our tigers.

I had breakfast with several Peabody fans. Good people and ready to cheer on their team also. It did get annoying after about the third or fourth roll tide when they came through door but I like the spirit.

    Should be fun

Lol.  We can’t help we had a Peabody Alumni that helped coach at Alabama at some point way back when.  That’s how we became the Tide.  Most of us are Vols fans.  Expect many Roll Tides from our bunch today. :thumb:

So one of the best moments of the whole season was immediately after the win....Tanner Snyder runs over to the stands to see a young man with disabilities, takes off his jersey and gives it to him just as the clock hit zero! The young man was moved to tears his mother and all that saw were in tears...it was no show it’s just Tanner! Class act Snyder...your still my family’s Mr Football! Way to make Nicks day special too!
I have a feeling it’s gonna be a viral sensation...there are several videos and it was NOT for show

I saw the video.  It was a pretty sweet moment.   Is it on the Lake County Banner’s fb page? Can’t remember who had shared it.

The Meigs team left Decatur about 30 minutes ago... their buses were greeted with the streets around the courthouse lined with hundreds of fans donned in their orange and black attire and shakers, airhorns and cowbells piercing the air. The buses did a loop around the historic courthouse to capture the love of the fans and residents who are proud of their team - win or lose. There's just nothing like the passion and camaraderie of small-towns!

Amen! Peabody leaves out at 1pm today.  The middle school and high school kids will line the Boulevard leading up to both schools.  The crew will depart and take a trip around our courthouse, then they’ll drive by the elementary school where all the kids will be out cheering them on.   Fans will be all along the route.  Small town football truly is special! Safe travels for everyone whether you’re heading East or West today and tomorrow.
