  1. I'm still waiting to hear who we have hurt as well. Though we may give our football team a break come Friday. We may have to pull together a swim team or maybe water polo team if we get all the rain tomorrow and tomorrow night that they're calling for. In all seriousness though even if everyone was healthy, rain/water is the great equalizer. Who knows how this game is gonna go!
  2. Hopefully UC will get it together, and we'll have ourselves a heck of a game. That's where the memories are made. Last Friday..... the battle.... made our win all the more sweeter. Good hard fought and won games gives us more experience and grit that is needed for those playoff games! No doubt you agree with the same for UC.
  3. Regardless of what formation Union City runs, Peabody has surprised you before. Union City has ran the veer for a while now, right? Peabody has pulled out the W against you all before. Before the Milan game, everyone said Peabody is going to have a hard time containing the running game or this running back or this player, etc. etc. Peabody essentially shut their running game down. Milan did capitalize on some of Peabody's mistakes, and that's what kept the game close. They took the opportunity and ran with it. Peabody will have to work on that part of the game. We can't make big mistakes like that. Those mistakes is what kept the game close. Regardless... my point is that we were ready for Milan when all that talk was going on that we didn't stand a chance. Our boys will no doubt be ready for the Tornado that blows into Walter Kiltzer Stadium come Friday night. Watch and see.
  4. The last name is Baugus. He did have an older brother Hayden. I'm not sure if there was another off the top of my head. I'm drawing a blank on names.
  5. Yeah, I had a feeling that would come up. That was a different team though. Us as fans had no control over that though. We cheer for our teams no matter what. I will say this new QB of ours seems special. His passing and running game is impressive for a sophomore. It seems there are big things to come of him.
  6. No matter what Union City always makes for an exciting game. There's always been a heated rivalry since we broke that long standing winning streak a few years ago. That fueled the hate (or strong dislike) UC has towards us. Haha. I hope though we've gained some respect over the years as a decent program. Nevertheless, it will be a good game! I of course have to say the Tide will roll with it. We've got some good momentum so far, and I hope it continues deep into the playoffs. No doubt there will be some good chatter on here this week.... especially after folks have their nightcaps.
  7. This ought to be a good one. Peabody has definitely shown that we're an improved team from last year. Our boys got a boost of confidence last night no doubt too. We will be ready to take on those Tornadoes! What's everything thinking? Union City or Peabody?
  8. I said it's those nail biters that make for the memory books. This one will definitely go down as memorable. You guys played a heck of a game too. I'm not sure I'll ever wind down for bed.
  9. Peabody wins! Peabody wins!!!! 27-21
  10. 14-7 halftime. Peabody gets the ball 2nd half.
  11. Peabody is up 14-7 with 46 sec to go in the half.
  12. I will keep Milan's principal and family in my prayers. I heard about the unexpected loss of his young son. That has to be devistating. No one should have to deal with the loss of a child. There's no doubt that Milan will be playing with heart tonight in memory of their little fan.
  13. So Jackson Sun has Milan picked to win 35-17. I wonder what happened to ole Fearless. I know he was getting out of the paper, but the newer version didn't stick? Or I may be misinformed. Nonethess, I'm still pulling for a closer game. It's the nail biters that make for those classic high school memories. The blow outs are easily forgotten. It's those hard fought games that are etched into your memories forever. And for what it's worth while I'm thinking about it. Milan blew us out last year. At this same time Milan had just lost a student or 2 in a horrible wreck literally in the days before. Milan was already predicted to put it to us. We knew that, but our band still learned the Milan fight song to play in memory of the lives lost. Our community ached for your community and your loss. That goes beyond rivals. That shows no matter what we have a community aspect that comes into play when we play you guys. When you suffer a loss, we feel it too in the sense that Milan and Trenton is part of a community. We're closer than most opponents. It changes things. We want to beat you.... but if we don't, we want you to succeed. I pray for a safe travels and for an injury free game!! With that I will say Roll Tide! Beat those Dawgs!
  14. 2 more days! I'm looking forward to a packed house. I know I plan on getting there at least an hour earlier at the latest. Milan folks will have to plan accordingly if you want a seat. I personally think that this game will have some excitement. It seems that most assume that Milan has this one in the bag. Don't expect Peabody to just roll over and give it to you all. That's all I'm going to say. Once again I'm praying for an injury free game! Roll Tide.
  15. I'm not going to come on here and say Peabody is taking Milan to the woodshed. lol. I just always enjoy the atmosphere at these county rivalry games. Despite if you think Peabody can compete with Milan, I think this is still a rivalry. The gate is huge whether it's at Milan or at Peabody. Everyone knows everyone on both sides for the most part. It's a game I look forward to every year. So call us Poohbooty or whatever. I respect Milan and the program's history. I think in Peabody's success in recent years, folks around here wasn't used to it. Even the year we beat you guys. It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth and folks go on the defensive. The years we're more successful means we're more competitive. That makes for fun games! Our win over Booker T was painful to watch. Just as I would think you all felt when you smashed Humboldt. And like BPM said, you can't judge Milan or Peabody's performance necessarily when playing a lesser team like that. I'm just hoping for an injury free and competitive game come Friday!
  16. Well, someone had to start it. Who wins out of these county rivals? I'll be curious to see.
  17. Well done, Dresden. It's definitely your year. Take it and run with it. Make our district proud. If our black and gold can't bring back that golden ball, then I hope yalls can! You've got my support.
  18. Yso, you'll have to keep up with the posting. I don't have good service down here in the hog pit. I can barely get this page to refresh.
  19. Blocked kick... 6-6. Peabody did come to play!
