I know it’s rivalry, but I don’t think having Humboldt on the schedule anymore is what would be best for our program. It’s just deteriorated so much with a future that isn’t bright

I’d like to see Huntingdon or Waverly on the schedule.   Either would be a good test for the boys.

From the get go, UC did not want to be on that field. Peabody absolutely dominated in all phases of that game. I can’t remember a time that UC had started 0-3. Congrats to Peabody on a very deserving win. I hope UC bounces back & gets their mojo together.

ESPN Sports Radio 96.5 tweeted this yesterday-

Union City trying to avoid their first 0-3 start since 2003, where they also fell to Peabody in Week 3. Tornadoes have started 0-3 only two times since 1970.

Wow. Did not expect that at all, but great job to the tide out there. Season is looking real good from here on out.

Agreed!  I wasn’t expecting it at all.

Tomorrow is a new day for UC.  They will make adjustments and keep moving forward. Good luck the rest of your season, UC!

Ok guys I have to give you an update. My son is a freshman on the team and he doesn't say very much but he did say that the guys are in good spirits and that practice has been good. Coach Bowling will have them ready.

Good to hear! Looking forward to a great game.

Where are all the union city guys ?  I know there are some they were posting on the mayfield thread

Their pride is hurt after starting the season 0-2 even though both teams were much larger schools.  The injuries quite literally add insult to injury.    Regardless, UC is UC.  They will make adjustments.  They won’t just give up.  There’s too much hunger for another shiny gold ball to add to the display case.

I believe you can go back & watch the game on WNWS.com with full commentary. I plan on watching some of it tomorrow so I can see what exactly happened. Listening is one thing but getting to see it with your own eyes can really help assess where a team stands. Sounded like both teams hadn’t drank a bottle of water all year long...

I can't argue with you there. The cramps were awful.   I may be looking the game up..  I'm curious on so many calls.

I do think we can win but I’m sure it will be a war

After tonight's game, there is no doubt it will be a war.  Union City is hungry for a win this season.  I'm not sure how long it's been since UC started the season 0-2.  They'll be looking to make a statement in a big way for sure.  Peabody can't sleep on anyone.  It's time to go all out no matter who the competition is.

For now...  I'm sure us Peabody folk's nerves are shot, and no doubt UC feels the same.  If we can keep everything level headed this week, I'm sure we're in for an all out 2A Region 7 Slobberknocker.  Roll Tide!

Wow what a game. Baugus to Holbrook for 72 yards on 4th & 15. That kind of stuff takes guts. Great game. I wish I could’ve seen it

That had to be the play of the game.  It was the ultimate Hail Mary and Halbrook delivered big time.

  9. It sure would've been nice if there could've been a live feed of this game.  It was definitely one for the history books.  I'd also like to see some replays on 75% of the flags thrown.  The laundry on the field was brutal.   The penalties kept the game much closer.

All in all though, it was a battle.  It's one I'll always remember.  It's also one that makes it hard on the old ticker.

Good luck the rest of the season, Milan...  It should would be nice for someone to dethrone Alcoa.   I'll always pull for Milan to do so!

  10. Man...  That was intense!!  Cramps everywhere...    I will say hats off to Milan’s #9 on his great sportsmanship.  If a Peabody player went down with a cramp and he was there, he’d help stretch the Peabody player until someone else got there.   Someone raised him right.

I’ve always heard the term fair weather fan lol but I never considered Milan to be like that. I think we need to be on top of our game and can’t sleep or look to far ahead

I never would’ve expected that out of Milan either.  Their tradition runs too deep, or so I thought.
