UC averages 41 points per game.  Peabody averages 36.  I'll take a scoring match.

That may be so but Union City averages giving up 25 points per game to the other team. Peabody averages giving up 8.  I’ll take that scoring match if you want to look at it that way.

2013 UC beat Trenton on the way to both teams winning state champs (1A for UC, 2A for Trenton)  2014  UC undefeated state champs.  2015 UC beat Peabody at trenton and lost to Peabody in quarterfinals at UC (visitor locker room thing game)  2016 UC beat Trenton at home.  2017 UC beat Trenton in Trenton.  Trenton peaking at end of season, but UC doing good as well.  should be great game.

Peabody won their Gold Ball in Dec of 2014.

Yes, most definitely this is be a great game!

  3. We did it 2 years ago today actually. 28-24 was the final there at War Memorial.

Im sure Union City won’t go down without a fight.  I say Peabody by 2 scores.

Hopefully both teams can limit penalties. It sounds like both sides have been hit hard with flags on the field.  For what it’s worth these TSSAA Refs have been awfully flag happy!

Where are you getting that! WHO said that! WHO said we could beat everybody?

You guys can’t win for losing when it comes to being trolled on here.  I’m glad to see Waverly making a name for themselves. The East has a mindset that they dominate the West. They just have a hard time believing the caliber of teams the West has this year or in recent years.  Like I said before... just surprise them!  I’ll be back to read the excuses next Friday night when Waverly puts it to them.

I seen someone said Peabody play calling was awful last night. What's up with that? I will say I think Peabody pulls out another close win in this game. You guys have done it! With all the things you had to do just to make it in the playoffs and now look!

Round 3 who would have thought beside you faithful tide. I sure didn't and I commend you guys. I have learned my lesson!

The only thing I can of is they were trying to change things up since it was only 2 weeks ago that we played them.  I’m going to tell myself that anyway.

Looking forward to a trip to Union City next week.  Our games are always good. I predict a different outcome from earlier this year. Regardless though, Region 7 has represented well!

  6. Here's another Region 7 battle rematch.  This Tide team has come a long ways since our first loss of the year against UC.  We're in for another good game.  I say this game has a different outcome than before.  Tide Men, it's time to pull it together. Let's limit penalties and turnovers.  Let's play some true Peabody Playoff ball!  This is a capable team if we limit the mistakes.  I'm of course going with Peabody on this one!  Roll Tide!!!

This is one of the greatest plays I remember ever seeing. Just the heart in the players and really showing the team aspect is wild. Hope this clash produces some more amazing moments. Is there a live stream available for this?

What a play that was! That was Xavier Ball.  That was the 2014 year when Peabody took Marion County to the woodshed in Cookeville. They got a nice big Gold Ball as a souvenir!

He meant to reply to me!I disagree there offensive line was hands on hips and panting by 4th!But we won't really know what they did or didn't show us till this round!I hope we can come out with fire in our bellies and not play from behind!!!! I sure hope we can shut down the short pass they ate Fairley alive with!!!ROLL GOLDEN TIDE

Blame me. I mentioned conditioning with my post from earlier.... Peabody shined the 2nd half of the first game against Adamsville.  I know we stepped our game up 2nd half.  It appeared that Adamsville couldn’t  keep up once that fire was lit under Peabody.

We owe our young men a better turnout and atmosphere than last week!I will be bringing cowbell and horns and signs to pass out for sure!!!ROLL TIDE

If anyone loves a good high school football slobber knocker, then they'd be crazy not to come watch this game.   I hope to see everyone fill Walter Kilzer stadium.  Bundle up and get ready for a good one.

Didn’t seem like conditioning to me. We are a bit faster than they are overall.  Knight got shut down in second half and they seemed to get frustrated to me.

I totally agree with you here.  They were going head and head and exchanging a few words from the start of the game it seemed like.  I can only imagine the exchange on the field come Friday.  The emotions will be even higher.  This game will be heated and emotional.   Both teams will play even harder.  It's more than just Peabody that has something on the line at this point.  I think our boys proved we play hard a full 4 quarters.  You can't slack off against us.  We don't quit.    Roll Tide!
